Kronwall out 6-8 weeks with broken sacrum

Yeah, this is an important point. Brittle or not, the kid has to learn to keep his head up and on a swivel. Especially being a big open ice hitter himself, and without an enforcer backing him up, he's going to take a lot of hits.

If you break your sacrum, can you still have kids? Ba-dum CRASH Thank you, thank you! We're here all week! Try the veal, and remember to tip the waitstaff! Good night!

3/30 GDT: Stars @ Red Wings

The only goalies Lilja has scored on this year are Osgood and Hasek.

3/30 GDT: Stars @ Red Wings

What's the reason? They play teams exhausted from the 2nd half of back to backs more than any other team?

Suddenly, the Red Wings look like a team that played a tough, emotional game on the road last night....

Been a looong time since the Wings had a 3 goal lead in a game.

Mickey has now criticized both Dallas breakaways for not making it hard enough on Hasek, and he just now blamed Kronwall's injury on Hasek not warning him about the impending hit. I love Mickey, but come on.

Yes, it does always seems like that. Remember Hatcher? Looked like he tripped and was fine. Then, we find out he's ruptured every ligament in his knee and is out all year. Or which defenseman went down really bad last year, and his knee looked really badly damaged, and he played later in the game? Might have been Lilja.

Dallas is playing terrible, just mailing it in so far.

I'm reluctant to bring this up, but Mickey would have been all over what a phenomenal save that was if Osgood had made it instead. With Hasek, it was "too easy" to stop.

Yeah, that was probably Daryl Reaugh with the "succulent" comment. He's really one of the best analysts.

I hope it's not too serious an injury. Kronwall is playing terrible, but losing depth is never a good thing.

I felt the Wings got jobbed in the home and home against the Predators two weeks ago, so I have no problem with them getting favorable whistles in this one. I'm not sure that they did, but if they did, that's fine with me.

    Zetterberg to return this Sunday?

The dichotomy between what the Red Wings say and what Zetterberg says is reaching ridiculous proportions. I'll believe he's able to play when I see him on the ice. The coaching staff says he's gonna suit up any day, then you see an interview with him and wonder if he's ever expecting to play hockey again. It's just silly. Either the Wings are too optimistic, Zetterberg is too pessimistic, or both.

    Bowman on fighting

Yeah, there's a mixed message there for sure. He didn't bring Joey Kocur back from the beer leagues for his skating and offense.

Those quotes are an encouraging sign. It means Nashville is frustrated and making excuses. Awesome.

What I liked about the Wings these past two games is the commitment to defense. It's not pretty, but they've managed to find a way to play without the puck. When they get in trouble in their own end, they're just chipping the puck out and taking the safe play instead of creating a sh**storm in their zone trying to be too fancy puckhandling and passing up ice and turning it over. They can't maintain the puck possession when they do that, but they're doing it anyway, and I think they have to. The over reliance on puck possession gets them in trouble sometimes, and they're a tougher team to face when they can switch gears when they have a late lead. Get the puck in deep (something else they haven't always done well), chip it out before they get in trouble and be disciplined. They did those things the last two games and have two wins to show for it.

You know, I didn't watch the feed from Nashville, but if people were saying Ozzie was "lucky" tonight, that's bullsh**. It's one thing for Crisp and Weber, but if Mason is nodding along with that and agreeing, that's really lame.

That was intense!! Great win! The Wings played with a lot of heart. That was playoff intensity.

That's pathetic. Is this really true? There are nights when goalies get lucky, that's a fact. But how has Osgood been lucky tonight? Lucky that Schneider didn't put more mustard on that slapper at his own net, maybe.

Maybe I'm suffering from a selective memory, but it seems like a really, really long time since the Wings scored an insurance goal in a game.

Nashville is doing a great job of moving the puck on their PP. The Wings are fortunate they haven't given up a couple more PP goals against. Have the Wings won a single face-off tonight? Seems like the Preds have dominated the draw.

They always do the "you suck" thing there. Hey, Nashville fans, is that something they put up on the scoreboard or do the fans do it themselves?

    TSN Player Rankings

Datsyuk is not nearly the player Crosby is. That's beyond silly.
  25. Huh? Everyone has suggested it. Most of the discussion on this thread has been about a comparison to the 1970s Flyers.
