This one comes as a shocker to me. I'm not so much surprised to see the Caps lose in the first round as I am to see it was Montreal that beat them. Wow.

Yeah! I can't say I saw that coming. How much of that was Phoenix being overwhelmed by the occasion? Because if the 'Yotes played well, then look out, Western Conference. Detroit dominated everything in that game. I have to admit, I feel bad for the Coyotes and their fans. First time ever, after a playoff series, that I've had even an iota of sympathy for the other team. Congrats to the 'Yotes and their fans on a great season. Those guys were really good and I just couldn't work up any hate for them. That won't be a problem against the Sharks. GO WINGS!!

I usually enjoy the Joe whether the team wins or loses, but I have to admit, I'd be pissed if I spent money to watch this game live.

There will be a game 7. Maybe this embarrassment will help the team. The thing is, they came out working hard and got 3 PPs and wound up down 1-0. They never really recovered from that. Pretty disheartening.

Dominate the game but trail on the scoreboard. I can't decide if that's part of what I love about hockey or what I hate about it. I guess it depends what side my team is on, so for now, it's what I hate about it.

Having 3 PPs, including a 5 on 3, and being down 1-0 after 7 minutes is pretty tough to take.

Yeah, I have WOW and the same thing has been happening for me. Intermittently, not always.

I just flipped on the Penguins-Habs game and the Pens scored on a nice goal by Malkin. A one-timer. That's what the Wings need most; someone with a nice one-timer. They really don't have anyone with a strong one-timer on this roster. A one-timer can catch the goalie going the other way on a nice cross-ice feed during a power play. The Wings move the puck well but it takes them forever to wind up and take the shot. I think this is the single biggest missing element on the team this season. Hudler has a nice one-timer. One more reason to make bringing him back a priority.

Every f**king puck seems to bounce the wrong way for the Wings this period. Off their own skates, into a Phoenix stick, never where they want it. And Howard, COME ON.

Awesome game! Just wish the OT had lasted a bit longer. I'm always in favor of long series with multiple OTs in each game for all the teams except Detroit. Tough to blow a 4-1 lead for Montreal, but they got the road split.

It's like the refs were issued a mandate to start whistling more infractions some time around the middle of the 2nd period of the Wings game last night. The action has been off the charts ever since! I don't like to see cheap penalties called, but the end-to-end play and trading of goals is pretty fun to watch.
