Time to get this thread started. I'll go first. Rough night for Zach Bogosian, playing in his first ever NHL game and having to take a beating from Donald Brashear. Circle the remaining Atlanta-Washington games on the calendar.

Tremendous showing on the second night of a back-to-back. The Canucks looked shot at the end of their road trip, too. Luongo was off. We'll take it, eh?

Detroit has the most limp-wristed clearing attempts on the PK. I mean that literally. They look like they have limp wrists. The Wings are skating in mud. Getting outmuscled and outhustled. Grow a set of balls and show you're here to play. This stuff can be fixed with some pride and determination.

Penalty-fest. Not good for Detroit considering the relative quality of the special teams. Hope Helmer is okay.

I enjoyed this game. It was hard-fought, physical and there was bad blood. This reminded me of those games between these teams from ten years ago. When the Blues would start to lose, they'd get all sore and start gooning it up. The Blues had tougher teams than Detroit back then but there were some memorable scraps. I loved the response to the physical play from the Wings tonight. This was a good win for the Wings. Their schedule will be friendly down the stretch as they play a home-heavy remainder while their rivals are mostly on the road from here on out. Best moment of the game was when the JLA music guy played, "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" during the scrum in front of Howard.

This going down 2 or 3 goals and having to try to come back sh** is tired.

http://paranoidpuck.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/sids-return-draws-disappointing-numbers-on-versus/ The backlash is palpable but the league just doesn't learn. Promoting a player is one thing; that's good. But what they're doing with this guy is cartoonish. They don't get it, and I suspect they never will.

Yeah. The good news for Babs is Hudler has had 1 1/2 bad years now, so his personal agenda against Hudler has been a lot less obvious. It almost looks like it's based on Hudler's performance.

It would be refreshing to see a local beat writer ask Babcock, "The team didn't seem to even show up today. Why is that, Mike?"
-
Well, you can't fail to score on 27 minutes of PP time and expect to win.
-
It would be nice if they could replace this guy wearing the #13 sweater with the actual Pavel Datsyuk.
-
The Blues have blocked 19 shots, the Wings have blocked 8. That tells a lot about the story of this game so far.
-
I know the Wings have lost by bigger margins, but for my money, this is their worst effort of the season. I'd wager $1,000,000 they won't score again in this game if I had the money. They're not even competing.
-
Well, that sucked.
-
Salei. Brutal. Just brutal. He had like a minute to keep that puck in. Epic fail.
-
Wasn't there a league mandate a few years ago to drop the puck quicker on faceoffs? Or am I imagining that?
-
Niemi is a good goalie but the problems Detroit has had scoring have to do with a lot more than him. Through 2 periods, this is the first game in the series that Detroit has had the puck a good share of the time.
-
Well, that was a pretty good PK at least.
-
Another puck over a stick. Big play, the Wings had a chance to put some pressure and let the puck out of the zone.
-
The Wings look like they're stuck in mud. SPEED UP.
-
Dunno if it's the ice or what but the Wings can't seem to do anything with the puck. Fanning on shots, pucks going over sticks, etc. Yet the Sharks seem to be having no such problems.
-
These two teams are not even comparable up to this point. The Wings look like a team about to be swept out of the 2nd round.
-
Not Detroit's night. Didn't play well enough and the calls are brutal since the 1st period. Jesus.
-
The Wings haven't had a good scoring chance since the goal. They look slow, lumbering and uninspired. Look alive, team.
