Pretty good game by us, Howard was awesome but Turco was amazing. I would not have been upset with this loss, but since its our 6th in a row I am upset about it. We need Rafalski/Kronwall/Cleary back badly.

I dont think Babcock will say anything controversial....
-
Im still in shock they called that last goal off.
-
Ducks can thank the refs for the 2 points.

No way would I give up Abdelkader and Quincey for him. Quincey is real close to being ready for the NHL, and Abdelkader is just a few years away and he could be NHL ready. And, um, Tucker sucks.

This Lilja bashing is getting way out of hand. IMO, he turns the puck over just as much as Rafalski (talking about just this season thus far). And he leads the team in blocked shots and hits. Lilja isn't a point producing defenseman like Ralf or Lids. He is a STAY AT HOME defenseman. And he has been doing his job well lately. Is he replaceable? Yes. But has he deserved all of the bashing he has been getting around here lately? No way. But of course, there has to be a LGW whipping boy.

Yeah, true story

Good for the sox! Casey always seemed like a good team player. Obviously not the best of runners, but he could hit pretty good. Best of luck to Casey.

Wings should win this one, SHOULD. But hopefully it will be a good game. GO WINGS!!!

Ditto. Good read. -
I'm sure Datsyuk taught him how to do that. Jk. Sweet goal.

Im excited to see Kovalchuk play, thats for sure...

The funny thing about the stat of him only missing 22 games his entire NHL career is that Bowman use to rest Lids during the last game of the regular season before the playoffs, just to rest him. So not all of those 22 games he missed were due to injury. Thats remarkable IMO.

Out of that list I would pick Franzen, or maybe Hudler but probably Franzen. But I cant see Franzen making 2-2.5 per year when he re-ups. Not enough goal production out of him.

Yea I'm pretty sure thats right. Holland probably will get him re-signed at the beginning of next season, hopefully.
-
Zetterberg still has another year left on his contract.
-
No way this will happen. Not with the way we are playing now. Why would Holland want to mess with the chemistry AND deal away more prospects for a rental player?? Makes no sense. If anything, Holland will make some minor trades at the deadline, nothing worth getting all excited about. But I doubt even that will happen.

Yep good win all around. Nice to see Hasek have a good game, probably his best performance all year.

Found this video of Don Cherry calling Fedorov a diver in 1996. Its about midway though the clip. Haha I love this guy...

Ha, wow. Love the mustache Ken, I say bring it back.

Good news. I really hope Howard will develop into a solid starting goalie for us. If he keeps this up, we'll see him in Detroit next year for sure.

Glad to hear Kopecky is fine. Interesting though that Dom will get the start on Saturday. I thought for sure Ozzy would go since he played so well against them last game then Dom would start on Sunday. Hmm whatever either way I suppose.

Great post, I gotta agree with pretty much everything said. And what Matt said was right, if Babs does not win the Jack Adams trophy, it would be a travesty. The Wings have really surprised me thus far. If you look at their starting line up (when everyone is healthy), you would say "Zetterberg should have a break out year... Datsyuk is pretty good... Homer is big on the powerplay... Lids is well, the best... Hasek is the dominator... Osgood is a solid backup... Huds/Flip is alright..." and thats about it. We really dont have a star-studded line up like we have in the past. But everybody is stepping their game up, and everybody looks hungry. I see more hustle out of this team than any other before. Heres to a great second half of the year boys. :beerbuddy:

Yeah they have, its been a pretty tight game thus far. Both goalies making some good saves and both teams getting good chances. But the wings are on top where it counts, 2-0 at the end of two.
