I think if Fedorov signed with us again he would have been bought out after the lockout. Thank god we didn't do that since LGW probably would have had to been shut down after that.

Remember the 7-5 season three years ago, an 11-0 start put all of that to rest. Players will get better, half the frickin offense is freshman, now I'm not saying 11-0 is going to happen next year and that team that went 7-5 was a lot better than this current one, but with a year of learning what not to do should help next year. If Tate Forcier/Shavodrick Beaver really is/are the real deal for this offense then watch out, because the QB is the biggest reason this team is 2-4. If Mallett would have stayed this team would not have been as bad, Sheridan and Threet were WALKONS for a reason, they were not worth a valuable scholarship. Mallett **could** have this team sitting at 4-2 or 5-1 right now. Toledo and Utah were single digit losses, this team right now is like an infant, it can take some steps but you know it can't walk on its own yet. Recruiting isn't going to be hurt at all, the only reason you see players "de-committing" is because they made their minds up all the way back in April and May, the later you get a player to commit the better the chance they have actually made up your mind. MSU is an up and coming program, but Michigan still is the king in most recruits opinions (when it comes to the state of Michigan), now if there is another season like this next year you might be seeing a change in that.

Notice that we are also playing Montreal in November, so the possibility that Montreal is going to be having an alumni game vs the Original Six teams this year for their anniversary is very possible in my mind. Don't forget that there have been alumni games played on FSN Detroit from the Joe in the past. The lockout year had Detroit and Toronto and I believe the next year was Montreal but then the thing went away with the lockout being over. Steve Yzerman is not Mario Lemieux, he loves the job he has with the Wings and has said on numerous occasions that if he wanted to have kept playing he would have. Now with the Red Wings "awesome" new marketing group they got last year this is just the thing I could see them using to get some interest going.
