Just to stop all the bitching now, Michael Turner had no interest coming to Detroit as a free agent. We did have interest in him.

I would much rather have a game against a team that people hated still if we were to host one. Toronto, Anaheim, Chicago, St Louis, Calgary and hell even San Jose and Nashville would be on a list of teams I would put before Colorado. The rivalry is dead, this wasn't Michigan/Ohio State, the Cup isn't determined by these two teams anymore. If the Joe didn't sell out against a game against the Av's in the playoffs then the rivalry is gone. Yzerman, Shanahan, Fedorov, Kocur, Lapointe, Roy, Lemieux, Bourque, Blake and all those other gritty players are gone. It's over. This past playoffs solidified it.

Keep in mind that the MDen catalog only had REPLICA jerseys in them, so these possibly could be different, as the replica football jerseys are different than the authentic ones. I wish that the maize jersey would go back to the script Michigan that it was in the 90's to early 00's.

This had been going on for about a month or so now, apparently the guys coach at the school where Newsome transferred has been really incahoots with Virginia Tech (basically tampering in the NFL) and Michigan is still the favorite but it would be no surprise if he went to VaTech.

Actually FSN does show preseason games, but they are usually just a couple home games and if its a road game against a team like Montreal/Toronto. (Usually on nights they don't have pre-scheduled programming) Don't expect to see all of them televised but each year they seem to pick up another game or so in the PS so one day they probably all will be.

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...085/1048/sports Makes you think that going 1-11 would be satisfying to some.

The thing about Appalachian State was that in context it looks like its the biggest upset in the world. A top 5 team losing to a lower tier team, almost like the Red Wings losing to the Chicago Wolves. However Appalachian State was and still is the defending NC in their tier, just how the Wolves are currently the AHL champs...........but I'll get to my main point...many people forget that the biggest upset TALENT wise was USC losing to Stanford, Michigan was overrated and it was their first game. USC had been a constant number one for the whole season and they get shocked by a horrible Stanford team. To connect this all together in a sloppy 2:30am way.....there are teams in the NHL that the Wolves could beat, just like there are teams that Appalachian State could beat....(and did)......but how would Stanford fare against App State?

Apparently Izzo needs to learn that. Also I MIGHT be wrong but didn't State also lose to Michigan Tech as well?

He would have been better than Kitna

Ha! I have never bought or even worn anything Lions in my 18 years in this world......I even wore a fricken Ohio State hat for like 3 seconds in Ohio once. Although I still sit and watch every game on sunday

Four wins should come from in the division, (GB twice, I think that they will have a rough year with Rodgers and Chicago/Minn split) Tampa, SF and Houston are all winnable games. Jacksonville and Tennessee and Carolina will be close so its a tossup. NO, Indy Washington are the only games I see being near impossible to win. And yes the Lions will win the NFC North this year. Kevin Smith will have 1000 rushing yards and will win NFC ROTY.

My bad.

10-7.......Note the extra game.

First Coaches Poll of the Year. 1. Georgia (22) 2. Southern California (14) 3. Ohio State (14) 4. Oklahoma (3) 5. Florida (5) 6. LSU (3) 7. Missouri 8. West Virginia 9. Clemson 10. Texas 11. Auburn 12. Wisconsin 13. Kansas 14. Texas Tech 15. Virginia Tech 16. Arizona State 17. Brigham Young 18. Tennessee 19. Illinois 20. Oregon 21. South Florida 22. Penn State 23. Wake Forest 24. Michigan 25. Fresno State I am really surprised to see that Michigan is in the top 25, but I would tend to believe that the coaches know more than the media.

After last year, I think Rich Rod has more than hammered the "don't look ahead" motto all over this team.

On a side note....does anyone else still not have the BTN? I have Charter cable and I highly doubt that we will be getting it at all this year. Kinda bulls*** when your live ten minutes from Ann Arbor and you aren't able to watch the universities sporting events. Although the longer my cable company goes without adding it makes it seem even more unlikely that they ever will add it, so if you have it and if you have the HD feed please consider yourself lucky because there are still us "28 percent" of pay tv customers in Michigan that do not have BTN I am sick and tired of having to watch road games on my computer.

Mario:"Hey Wayne my kids going to be better than yours" Wayne:"No way, mines gonna break all of Marino's records' Mario:"Wait....what. Who's Marino?" Wayne:"Wait your kid actually knows what hockey is?"

Well if everything goes as bad as a lot of people in Michigan hope for, Ohio State could be at 0 wins
