Thing I don't understand, when guys get into a scrum, why take just one guy? IMHO, either take both guys involved, or don't take either of them. Kinda stupid to give one team a PP out of scrums, seeing how players from both teams were involved. And Briere's goal shouldn't have counted, seeing how that was clearly goalie interference.

Same thing can be said for you and your fellow Pens fans. Alot of them on hfboards are thinking they will knock the Wings off easily, and that simply is not the case. Yes, Pittsburgh is where they are for a reason, but so are the Wings. As the Versus commercial says: "I am the top seed, and proving it". Could the Pens win against the Wings? Sure. But the Pens will have their hands full with Hank and Datsyuk, not to mention the rest of the lineup. The key will be how the young Penguins team handles the pressure of playing the best team in the league, and if they have an answer for the top line. How's Fleury gonna like Homer and Mule parked in his crease for most of the game? From what I've seen, he gets flustered at times with traffic infront of him, and that will most certainly cost a few PP chances.

I really hate both the Flyers and Pens. Pittsburgh because my ex thinks they will roll over the Wings, and I'm sick of hearing about the Flyers. So I kinda wanted the Flyers to win, just so my ex would be pissed off, and so we don't have anymore of Crosby shoved down our throats, but doesn't look like it will happen that way. If Ott gets taken out next game, he more than deserves it. I didn't think Dallas was a dirty team, but holy hell Batman, I don't think I've seen more cheapshots taken during a game, and blatant at that. The refs were content to let them as well, how about calling a penalty on Ott for the late hit on Datsyuk? But of course not. I'll be glad when the Stars are out of it.

Those can't be legal. No goalie would have a chance at making saves, let alone being protected from being injured. They shouldn't be focused on the pads anyhow, chest protectors are the next thing that need fixed.

Maybe Modano should ask Miettinen about Kronwall and the Wings "not being very physical". He obviously hasn't been watching the Wings, or was just spouting off the same BS every other team has so far. Apparently the Wings will just never be physical enough to satisfy some.

I hated Melrose before, but now I realize why it is I can't stand him. His thoughts on the Osgood/Ribeiro incident: "Detroit's going to the front of the net, one of the goals should have been disallowed in game 1. Yet he cries that Ozzie should be suspended for his "butt-end" on Ribeiro? Give me a freaking break. What Turco was doing all night and even in game 1 was alot worse.

Exactly. Turco calling anyone gutless is ridiculous. He slashes and whacked and tripped guys all night, yet of course he won't mention that to the media. Game 1 he elbowed Helm in the face, and has been known to whack guys in the balls for being too close to his crease. I like the fact the Homer has gotten under his skin so much, seeing how it's taking him off his game. As already mentioned though, Oz said that he got it in the side/ribs. There is little protection there, so it stung. He's not known for diving to get attention, so I see no reason for him to lie about where the stick hit him. As for the buttend of the stick to the face? Hard to tell exactly how much contact was made with that, and if Ribeiro didn't throw his head back to make it look worse than it was? If Oz got him that much with the stick, then he would have been on the ice or covering his face. Stupid move by Ribeiro.

Ott's a tough guy, punching Oz in the cage. I hope Mac beats on him or Kronner flattens him with a Kronwallian hit. Someone needs to let him know that will not be tolerated. Turco has given Homer 2 or 3 shots with his stick already, and I'm sick of it.

I fully expect Cleary to take his spot parked infront of Turco. Cleary has done it before, so this is all the more reason for him to start it again, or the Stars will have it too easy.

Honestly I wouldn't be too worried about Crosby. He plays with Hossa and Dupuis, who is not exactly another sniper. Malkin, Malone and Sykora are the other big threat for them. Lids, Raffi, Kronner and Stewie can shut them down and frustrate them just like they have everyone else so far. Get traffic infront of Fleury with Homer and Mule, and the goals would continue to go in. Pens have yet to face a complete defense, Flyers lost Timonen, so that just helps the Pens out. Besides, the Pens have yet to face adversity, and Crosby and Malkin have already gotten frustrated against the Rangers, so I don't think it would take much to get them off their game.
