Hasek has sore back. Ozzie to start tomorrow night.

Had it been Osgood that started slowly, and Dom not been injured and winning all those games, alot on here would have been calling for Howard to be brought up and Oz waived/benched whatever. It's such a double standard sometimes, and it's really unfair. They have both been playing well lately, or in Osgood's case, as well as one can when only having 2 starts since late February. He's won both games, and looked great doing so. The team has also been scoring and playing defense too, which they weren't doing at all during that losing streak. Alot of those Oz got hung out to dry with little or no goal support, and defense just standing around watching the other team. That was all it took for the Hasek love-fest and Osgood bashing to start all over again. Should Hasek automatically get to start the playoffs, just based on his name? Not a chance. It should be whichever one of them plays better these last few games, which should have been more evenly split up IMHO. That way Babcock could see who played better, and which goalie to go with to start playoffs. If Hasek doesn't play well the first 2 or 3 games, then he should be done with and Osgood should get his chance to start games from then on. It won't happen, but it would be a bit more fair. As for which goalie would start, Osgood simply based on the fact that Dom is once again injured. If not for that, why not just rotate starts between the two of them like it was for the majority of the season? -
You know what? For those couple that want to jump down my throat and tell me to knock it off, f*** off. Seriously. I'm going through more s*** right now and have every right to come on here and vent about the entire team sucking, and yet I get jumped on? All I said was that it was tiresome to see people say that Ozzie has been horrible, and yet Hasek has been the great goalie lately, even though he has still lost games just like Oz has been. Neither goalie can score from where they are standing, and when the defense decides they don't want to do anything, there's not much the goalie can do. Especially when even Lidstrom is having a bad night, then you know the entire team needs to pick it up. Has Oz been outstanding? No. But he isn't the only reason the team has been losing lately, especially when he is a big reason why the team is so far ahead in the standings. Both goalies need to pick it up, as do the rest of the team, or this slump will get alot worse before it does better.

But, but, it's all Osgood's fault don't you know? According to puckloo, Hasek has been incredible his last couple of starts, even though the team still didn't score and didn't show any effort, and even though he lost the games too. I get so tired off seeing this BS, easiest thing to do is blame Ozzie. Yes, it's all his fault that the defense decides to stand around and leave the Columbus players wide open so they can score. Give me a ******* break already. The team needs to snap out of it, hopefully starting with the next game.

Last I checked, Oz wasn't the only goalie losing games on this team. Neither goalie has been fantastic lately, but neither has the rest of the team. The entire team needs to pull their act together, and quick. Don't need this little slump to snowball and get alot worse, especially not at a time like this. Let's just hope that they find out how to score, and soon.
-
Would you blame Oz for being frazzled? I mean, he can't score the goals for his team, and they did leave him on his own on that first goal, just watching Nash score. I wouldn't doubt that he is pissed off right now, shaking his head kind of has me thinking that way. And letting Modin of all people get behind the entire team for a breakaway?? There are some serious problems here, and they are starting and ending with the defense, or lackthereof lately.
-
Lazy....very, very lazy. Like they just don't care about winning a game anytime soon. Left Oz completely out to dry on the first goal. Oz made 3 or 4 saves, and then Nash gets the puck near the net and the PK unit, all 4 of them, just stand there and watch him score. Oz stands up and just shakes his head.
-
I get to watch a game again, and the team wants to suck it up again...or should I say still. Holy hell, at least try to play defense fellas. Ozzie makes 3 or 4 saves, then Nash gets the puck, and all 4 of them want to stand there and watch him score. Poor Oz, just stands up and shakes his head, probably to say what the hell guys. Better start making some effort here soon, then again I said that last time too, and they now have a 4 game slump going, 5 if this mess keeps up.

I don't see why a select couple here are blaming the loss on Oz. The whole team pretty much gave up before he did, and if not for him showing some sort of effort, the score could have been alot worse than what it was. I couldn't see the game, so I don't know if there were "bad" goals or not, nor do I care at this point. It just pisses me off that a couple are ready to string up Oz and say it's time to put Dom back in, just because they think he hasn't been good since the ASG. Get over it. Every goalie deserves to have an off night, Oz included. If Brodeur has a bad night, you don't see the Devils fans calling for him to sit and them to play Weekes more often. Have to pick it up again for the Leafs game, maybe now they will show some sort of effort.
-
I should turn it off, but I just can't. Almost like a car wreck I suppose, can't look away no matter how bad it is. Babs better not string Ozzie up for this BS game. He was the only one paying any attention to start the period, the rest of the team needs to start showing some effort, and stop being so damn comfortable with the huge lead they have in the standings.
-
Absolutely unf***ingbelievable. There is NO excuse for this BS, none at all. Somebody better put a Kings player through the glass, at least something to show they care still.
-
Ok, that seems like it's game over. Team doesn't seem to care about winning tonight, poor Oz is gonna have this loss pinned on him, and unfairly so.
-
WTF is with the penalties all of a sudden? Need to either kill it off, or score a SH goal. Something to wake the team up, since it sounds(can't see the game) like Ozzie is the only one paying attention this period.

Team not helping Oz out?

Damn it all

Little article on him in Detnews. Coach is afraid he will be traded, simply because of teams wanting prospects. Needs work on offense Comley is happy with Abdelkader's development, but wants him to continue to improve at the offensive end. Abdelkader is responding to Comley's wishes. Big decision upcoming Abdelkader is happy with the progress he has made at Michigan State. He should be. He has seven goals and 11 points in the last 10 games, leading the Spartans (18-6-5, 14-3-3) to a 6-1-3 record to pull within three points of the CCHA leader, No. 1 Miami. Abdelkader said he will think more about his future after the season. "Right now I'm just focusing on this season," Abdelkader said. "It's pretty awesome to be playing for a league championship. Every game is like a playoff game right now. I'll sit down and talk about things after the season, but I certainly wouldn't frown on coming back for my senior year." Wings coach Mike Babcock stresses shooting the puck. Abdelkader is making sure he gets his share of shots, taking eight Friday in a 5-4 overtime loss to Nebraska-Omaha. He had two goals and an assists. "He's skillful and hard-working," said Spartans junior goaltender Jeff Lerg. "He's aggressive and has a good shot. He's real strong on his stick and doesn't get knocked off of it easily." "He's been a tremendous player for us," Comley said. "He plays hard every night. He still has to grow offensively. He's strong and powerful. He has a great future." "If he can play in Detroit, I think he should leave (after this season). If he's just going to play for Grand Rapids, I think he should stay for his senior year because he's still developing. I trust Kenny (Holland). I know he'll do what's best for him. I just fear he'll be traded. Teams want prospects." Wings general manager Ken Holland checked on Abdelkader's progress firsthand when the Spartans played Michigan Jan. 25 in Ann Arbor. "He's a big, physical kid," Holland said. "I can see him as a third-line center in the NHL." http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A.../802050342/1128

But but, Osgood's stats are inflated because of the team that plays infront of him Seriously though, it was nice to see a win come out of that game last night. Oz kept them in the game until they got going, and definitely nice to see a new team for once.

Homer's goal? Edit: NM, Raffy got it.
-
Holy schnikies fellas. Let's not let them take over the game now. Keep playing til the game is over, and it wouldn't hurt to get another goal or 2.
-
Anytime now would be the perfect time to start helping Oz out fellas. Talk about bailing his team out, need to thank Oz for that series there.
