Funny Chara telling Ward Holmstrom "makes you want to kill him". Looks like he gave Homer a shot in the chops, why didn't Babcock dress Downey tonight?

Having Dom in net wasn't the only reason they got to the 3rd round either. They played physical, learned how to take shots from somewhere other than the perimeter, and got scoring from guys that needed to step up their play.

Whistle was blown after the play actually. You can hear it in the one replay. That being said, I don't think it was intentional. The only reason it's being made a big deal of is because it was Ruutu who hit Kovalchuk. Sucks he got hurt, but it's not like Ruutu intentionally went for his knee. Had Kovalchuk not moved, he would have gotten hit full on and skated away. Also, him pointing at the Pens bench after scoring wasn't called for. Then again, he doesn't like the Pens and they seem to feel the same way. But not something he should have done, and Ruutu getting 5 for fighting was BS. He didn't drop his gloves or throw a punch, but that was because of his name I suppose.

Skills competition and All Star game mean jack squat. It was him being there and having fun, and how he played or didn't play during that time has nothing to do with whether or not you think he should start in the playoffs. He had a "nice game" against the Coyotes? That was stealing a game, pure and simple. He may not do it often, but he certainly did last night. Ask Doan how he feels about being stoned on that breakaway with 30 seconds left. If Oz is playing better come playoff time, then he should start. If Dom is playing better, then he should start. Or Babs could just rotate them like he is now, couldn't hurt anything.

Please not this again.

Oz is starting tonight, not sure about the Yotes. I get to watch the game, CenterIce has a free preview going, and I am taking advantage of it. Want to see the Wings win this one, make Gretzky cry like a baby about the Wings running up the score.

Only one incident of a cheapshot? As mentioned, there was the whole suckerpunch in the face with his gloves still on, and many more. His hits are clean? Maybe he's managed to throw a few clean hits, but the majority of them are dirty and/or late. He jumps off his skates to deliver elbows or head shots, likes running guys into the boards. Don't need someone on the team to further encourage guys to take runs at our skill guys/guys that don't fight, deal with that enough as it is.

I don't think so. Selanne returned to the team, so what? If they think that makes them the favorite to win the Cup again, then I say let them have their fun with it. Winning the Stanley Cup back to back is the hardest in sports for a reason, and I see them being taken down this year in the 1st or 2nd round.

From a picture I saw from AS weekend, there's 23 teams that have a mascot. I say we make Bernie the mascot for the Wings, the guys seemed to like the shirts they got.

I'm just glad they won, Fishies gave me a bit of a scare when they tied it. Nice to see a win, and to continue the domination over the Fishies. Dom's flop was comical, I was shocked to see them call the trip and not him for diving.

Why does anyone refuse to clear the crease? JR didn't bulldoze Dom by any means, but just once someone in a Wings jersey, clear the freaking crease out.

I find that celebration a little much. Almost makes me wish one of the Wings put him on the seat of his pants for that, just me though. That being said, the puck should not have gone in the net there.
