Even before he skates onto the JLA ice: Mac > Downey. And you can bet Holland reunites the Grind line once again. If only for a minute, seeing #25 back on the ice will surely bring a tear or two and much excitement back to any and ALL Wings fans. I cannot wait!!

Great work, Matt!

Time for a little more dust in the faces of the surging Sharks. Good to see Cleary back. Osgood wins yet another one ... I want the 4 points this week.

I've been watching the Habs closely this year, hoping they could get their team in order enough to make at least a decent run at the playoffs. Who knew Kovalev was going to be very much the leader and stay interested much of the season? I think it's cool to Montreal back where they belong, among the NHL's elite. At least for now. A Habs/WIngs final would be cool in so many ways. Original Six. 2 truly storied franchises. Here's hoping the Habs keep it up ...
-
Last year: Nashville's saviour. This year: Colorado's. Zzzzzz. Retire already.
-
Trades have no bearing on who holds the players rights. Cory is still Red WIngs property, but just plays in another OHL city now.
-
Can't wait to hear Holland spin this one later today.
-
Stuart is a good pickup. I just can't understand why Holland did not improve this team's top 6. It will be simply inexcusable, if this team does not win the Cup this year, and lack of scoring stands out again. Samuelsson has no business being a Top 6'er here, I just don't get it. Before these latest injuries, this team was poised to win the Cup this year - at least as good a chance as maybe 1 or 2 other teams in the upper tier. Healthy, they will be again. But improvement needs to come from within this dressing room from here on in. Time will tell, cause there is no sense bitching about non-moves now. It is Hollands style anyway, who can really say they are suprised.
-
Don't get me wrong, cause I would've been more happy seeing a forward picked up and Sammys ass dropped way, way down the forward chart. But Brad Stuart is a really nice d-man. Quick scouting report: ASSETS: Is a very gifted skater and makes excellent outlet passes. Has a heavy shot that can be very effective on the power play. FLAWS: Is prone to mistakes in pressure situations, which has led him into the coach's doghouse in the past. Doesn't use his size effectively enough. CAREER POTENTIAL: Top four defenseman.

LA sends Stuart to DETROIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo -- hooo .. You guys who don;t know Stuart better get to know him. Nice, nice pickup.
-
Simon goes to Minnesota. Yup, more goons to dress.
-
Last summer, and it wasn't the first, Holland said he wanted to be patient, and WILL make moves before the deadline. He knows what this team can do, and what tweaking he needs to do. And yet, another deadline comes & goes and we still see Samuelsson among our top 6 forwards. All we need now is the Holland presser and his lists of reasons WHY he couldn't do anything, and actually WHY he DIDN'T even need to do anything. Unreal.
-
Hossa & Dupuis gone to Pittsburgh. 1st round pick, Armstrong, Christensen & Esposito gone to Atlanta. *Hey wait a minute* Deadline is here ... and now ... over! No Detroit moves. Same old same old. Holland presser and excuses are forthcoming ...

Stevie's 2nd go round, another GOLD medal and Holland keeps the seat warm!! Woo-hoo!!

The Leafs need a major overhaul. Not quick fixes. No guys hired who aren't qualified and only hire their friends and give them cushy jobes. They need to get rid of the Teacher's Pension Fund who are only concerned about making cash. They need an owner who cares about the game, and knows it and until then they will only continue to be a joke of a team, who get zero respect anywhere outside of Toronto. [Leafs fans still think this team is a deal or two away from contending]. The ownership is all wrong. The "hockey" guys they've hired know nothing, are inexperienced and overwhelmed in that market and wouldn't likely catch a job with any other NHL team. I mean this is the same team under Pat Quinn who hired Rick Ley as an assistant for example. But hey to see them fall so far and see their arrogant [not sure why] fans cry is indeed a whole lot of fun!! Screw 'em.
-
Woo Hoo !! This is really getting silly; the way the WIngs are just SO damn head and shoulders above everyone else in the league. Congrats to Ozzie and all i'm saying, is .. if this team is HEALTHY come playoffs ...
-
The fact some are mentioning Kindl, Howard and Hudler as trade bait is downright hilarious. Why the hell would we want to give up on guys like these, especially Kindl & Huds for an old, broken down, might help, might not Maple Leaf. No rent-a-players, please. Let Sundin go somewhere else and try to win his Cup. I still have visions of Wendal Clark wearing the winged wheel [and as great a guy as he was for their organization] - what a horrible sight!! Hell no!
-
Quick. Decisive. The rest of the season and playoffs [as if].
-
As Ottawa gets ready to make some bold moves and spark their team, we'll just continue our winning ways tonight and sit atop the NHL standings a little longer. Damn, Pavel has matured so much this season, he's possessed. Smiling. Throwing high-fives. Throwing checks. Shooting more [yes finally!!] and straight out dominating just the way Z has been.

Hall-of-Famer Lindsay blames Bettman for loss of fans
motorcitykid replied to Jwo's topic in General
The only thing I wanna do is slap Bettman senseless. Then i'd like to hold him for ransom until he reverts the schedule back to HOW IT SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE BEEN and allows Detroit to meet the Habs, Leafs and similar teams who actually hold meaning for what was once TRUE RIVALRIES. It is a joke we play teams like Nashville & Columbus 8 times, yet play the Habs once, oh, what ... every 10 years or so?? -

I've been having this debate with some friends since Saturday. I laughed my ass off at Avery talking smack to Tucker pre-game and how Tucker could only do what he does best - slash Avery. Nevermind that practically non-fight later in the game. I'm finding it so hilarious everyone is talking about Avery being such a s*** disturber yet Tucker is off the hook as far as his antics every game. WTF? Now I realize some of you still dislike Avery. Taking that out of the equation, as a HOCKEY fan, what's your feelings?
