1-He is? 2-Niedermayer seems to be doing some of that, yeah 3-True. 4-True again. 5- 6-You've seen a few of his games, nice. 7-Hopefully, but that would give them the series in 5, I called 6. Someone get this fool a door prize.

JSG's pads were illegal back in '03 the way I recall it, with most saying he was one of [if not] the biggest offender. As was pointed out, you're a new fan, a bandwagon jumper or similar, so you probably don't remember history very well. In '07 he's streamlined his equipment to legal size [as far as we've been told anyway ], but now he's added padding to prop up equipment such as his shoulder pads - still illegal in my book. Buy a f***in' clue and quit the homerism - it's so over the top it's pathetic.

What a f*n joke. Chelios-thug? Funny. ***-for-tat. Pronger loves to use the lumber and cheapshot guys. Stickwork is his forte. But Niedermayer? That's a suprise to see him cross-checking guys. Even sent an elbow to Pavel's head.

The goal shouldn't have counted since the video showed Dom getting pushed into the net. It did count. Game over. Win the next game and we're right back where we need to be. The Ducks should make Las Vegas plans, cause luck is the reason they aren't down 2-0 in this series. Also, if anyone knows where the BIG, BAD Ducks are - let me know. I haven't seen 'em. Is THIS the oh-so-scary team everyone was talking about?
-
Since the quote isn't confirmed who knows what Pronger said. Anyways - yeh I take sooooooooo much stock in what ***** Pronger says. Yeh. It's getting old, but Detroit, as NFM said above as well, hasn't even played up to speed yet. You want lucky? Anaheim hasn't seen Detroit's A-game yet, and they barely won yesterday. Throw in a non-goal that counted ... yeah, Wing fans got tons to worry about today. Pul-leeze! Go WINGS!!
-
Bertuzzi. If we could see a few glimpses of that old Bertuzzi - the guy who runs THROUGH players and tosses them around like little ragdolls - this series would be a short one. *prays*
-
Pronger's a sissy. I'll take any one of our checkers to crash and bang with him. But if Bert would nail him a few times, geez what a bonus. GO BERTUZZI !!

Actually it's Duck fans who keep telling everyone to look back to 2003, not Red Wing fans. That's a hell of a long time to go back for inspiration the Ducks and their fans are seeking. We all know who's dealt with what these playoffs. Again, this ain't Vancouver and it sure as hell ain't Minnesota. The Quacks are in for a suprise at the calibre of hockey they're about to face. Wings in 6. Or to be nice .. Wings in 7.
-
Agreed! My previous post was just to get Bert's attention - yknow every Red Wing drops by LGW.com now and then. If there's one thing Bertuzzi can bring right now it's his punishing checks. I hope he's still game, cause it would make a huge difference in this series.
-
Imagining .... Bertuzzi runs and pastes Pronger's face to the end boards and hell, actually smashes him THROUGH the f*n glass ... I hope you're right and Bertuzzi shows up BIG in this series. Physically he is a MONSTER and here's hoping he'll wipe that smirk off Pronger's face. Pronger is a sissy and Bertuzzi would do well to set the tone early in Game #1. Punish them!!

Release the hounds!! Off with their heads!! *tribal chant* "ooooooo-ooooo-woo-ooh-ohhhh-oooooooo dum da-da-dum dum"

Wings? Leafs? Do your homework. It's laughable you included those teams in your question. Now it's one thing to name a team after something strong, tough or intimidating, but to name it after a damn Disney kids movie? Cmon, you gotta know this is going nowhere ... <<< then again, rubber duckies are cute, i'll give ya that!

Win it all? A Cup? 1 Cup? Try 3 in the past 10 years. The Ducks - like every other team in the league - measures itself by what the MIGHTY RED MACHINE does and has done. How about winning a FEW Cups and changing up their ridiculous team name for starters? Ducks ain't got s*** to do with hockey other than ice is made from water and Ducks swim in that. Even if the Quacks get past us, how in the hell can anyone argue they are going to go in and beat Ottawa [the likely East winner] or the Sabres? San Jose fans and even more so Flames fans seem to understand the game. Ducks fans are still new to the sport.

Goaltending: even. Defense: edge Sens. Forwards: even. Sens in 6.

I doubt Smyth will be making 7 million next year. A raise on his 3 million +, but almost double his salary? Should be an interesting summer watch though. Wow, i'd LOVE Holland if he could bring Ryan here. [although I disagree with your comment on Smyth's hands. This guy can DO IT ALL. Believe this.] As for Bertuzzi, why are some in here so angry if someone else states that we haven't seen enough of his game yet to justify signing him to a new contract. Did I miss something? Let's be fair. Bertuzzi hasn't shown much of anything so far here to be screaming at Holland to re-sign him. This isn't a like or dislike point of view. It's simply the reality. You sign Ryan Smyth right now today, you know exactly what player will be showing up in training camp in September. Get it done, Holland.

#1 - definitely Anaheim's strength. #2 - a moot point. That was 4 long years ago and doesn't hold weight today. I don't think Giguere is thinking "I beat 'em back in '03". #3 - Youth doesn't matter here cause those guys are the ones they expect their goals from anyways. They total 22 points. Pavel, Hank & Zata's line alone has 23 points. #4 - They have 7 goals from their defense, we have 6. Anaheim has not faced anyone of Detroit's skill set, no-one who can outright frustrate you with their puck possesion. Watch the Minny series? The Wild never even showed up. Up and down their roster they were a complete disaster. With Vancouver, aside from Luongo, Anaheim didn't have much to worry about from that horrible anemic offense. What I see, if anything, becoming our downfall is the injuries we are now carrying and slow starts which can snowball. Detroit has to play from the puck drop, and go hard to the net against a goalie who doesn't like that type of pressure ala Tomas Holmstrom. Make no mistake, the previous 2 series were no cakewalk as you seem to imply. Anaheim is good but, aside from being pretty healthy, are not head and shoulders above the 2 teams we've already beaten. I like our chances. And they talk about Detroit's inflated stats.

Ryan Smyth: A gamer. Determined as hell. Comes to play every night. Leads by example. Hits and mixes it up. Scores. Plays great at both ends of the ice. End of discussion.

If he doesn't have a great start out of the gate over here in training camp, I hope he at least stays awhile in Grand Rapids and works on his game. It would be nice to see if he will ever be a fulltime player for us, instead of him not making the big club, and then just bolting 3 weeks later.
-
Yeh Pronger's gonna win the Norris over Nick Lidstrom. What the hell's in their drinking water out there or s***, maybe it's the sun blinding their eyes and giving them severe heatstroke. Get real. This is Detroit Red Wings hockey. What every other team strives to be, measures their own success by. Wow, the view sure is nice all the way up here at the top. Go WINGS!!! BTW, don't ducks drink from the same water they s*** in?
-
Beautiful, beautiful post. This post almost brought tears to my eyes. It truly is all of us, one goal - together! Go WINGS!!

...someone please paste Pronger's face to the end boards ... pleeaseeeeee!!!!!!
