I can kinda forgive Calgary and their fans for thinking they were gonna manhandle us. I can understand it even more with the Sharks and their fans. Both got a wake-up call for sure. And then another for their tee-time. But Quack fans talking smack? Have they seen any of their games this playoff? This thread is hilarious to be sure.

The conversation starts with a word. One word. One: Hasek. It ends there! Like water in the desert, have all the haters dried up and gone away? I remember last summer not many wanted him back. Now we're 8 wins away. Put it this way: imagine for a minute we had Toskala, Giguere or similar starting here for us instead of Dom. That's what many of you wanted. Where are ya now? Yes, some say we're spoiled but that goes with the territory. The Wings are expected year in and year out to win the Cup. Tough to do that every season, but this is what you play the game for. Second place doesn't count. Now if we look at the full picture, winning a Cup is the only result we're looking for at the end of each spring. That's how good this team has been, and that's where the expectations are. As for the team itself, this season was a transition year, with everyone and their grandma saying we were lucky to place 4th or 5th in the West. Some of leaders left, we mixed some youth into the lineup, and some players had their roles change somewhat. The sweet taste of victory will be even sweeter if this team can win it all. It wasn't supposed to be this way after all. Ain't that what we were told? GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!

Some of us are still feeling the effects of a long night and a late game. The Quacks have been sitting in the sun relaxing, and yes, that's good. But the Wings have worked hard to get here and have overcome some adversity while the Quacks and their mommas-boy leader Chris Pronger have met zero skill, speed or much opposition so far. Time for a wake-up call ...

Ever met a Leafs fan? Honestly, because of the history of the game and its origins, everyone wants to call Toronto the hockey Mecca. Fine. Junior hockey is great there and Canada is where they game started. Yes. But the Leafs suck and their fans only watch hockey when the Leafs play - true fans of the game I think not! Their management is a joke, until recently they treated their former stars like s***, as well as their fans. A lesson in how NOT to run an organization? You bet. And how many seasons will their fans continue paying high price money to see such a pathetic display of hockey? Sorry, but when I think of great Canadian hockey - I think Montreal. Les Canadiens. The Habs. There's some real history right there. Not made-up s*** like Toronto wants to grab onto. Thank-God we've got Mike & Marion !!!!!!!!!!

Get the first goal and even better lead this game after 2 periods. I think the Sharks might start thinking this one's over if that happens. Lebda will play barring a last minute change; if not Meech will get the call. Let's give it a full 60 minutes boys !!

Kronwall's injury-prone. This much seems true. But he sucks? He really came on this year, especially when Danny was hurt.

This brings up thought: just how well would any other playoff team do with 3 of their top 6 d-men out? I simply cannot believe - yet I do laugh - at all the negative press our team gets. Anyways, our guys still haven't played the perfect game we all know they can, but they're getting close. When they show up to play, not many can compete with us. Let's end this thing in Game #6.

Sitting on a lead after a goal or two early in the game? Pathetic. The only teams who score a goal and then lay back the rest of the damn game are s*** teams scared to open it up. They're doing all they can to keep their heads above water. Without realizing it, maybe Ron Wilson is admitting something by having his squad play that way.

Again, I don't give a rat's ass about Minny's regular season goalie stats, he was a rookie and when the games mattered it showed. Minny was lucky to win 1 game. They never even showed up in the first round. Vancouver? When you pretty much never settle the puck down and can't even set up in the other team's zone, even when you've got a PP you will not win any series; Luongo standing on his head or otherwise.

Anaheim does not impress. Minny sucked. Vancouver's Luongo [didn't I tell everyone in here last summer ] was huge for them, but their offense was downright pathetic. Please hockey gods .. do not let the Quacks win it all. Ugh!! Burke, Pronger and the rest of those smug sob's really need to meet a team who's more than one-dimensional. Ugh!!

I don't put much worth in what others are saying about our team. This playoff it's been San Jose, Anaheim, Buffalo, Ottawa ... anyone but us. Think about it - how many years in a row do we hear this team is old, past their prime .. even when we won the last 3 Cups people still talked s***. I could care less. It's all of us and the guys in that locker room that matter. GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the eye had blood in it and they didn't want him in any game until that was completely gone. I assume there's some soreness, but he should be back to his old self otherwise.

Oh. Snap! Also, I just do not get the rush to sign Bertuzzi yet throw Calder out with the trash. Reality, if it suits anyone, should see very little interest in Bertuzzi [thus far he's shown zero to offer him a contract], while Calder should definitely have a look-see. Cmon he's got a broken hand.

I just pictured that right now. I'd love nothing more than alot of that tonight. I give a rats ass about all this trashing of our team in the media etc. But boy oh boy if the REAL Red Wings show up tonight ... Amen brother!!

All i'm saying is this: Homer's a great player. Now have you ever watched a team waiting for one of their top guys to return with the hope that he'll do it all and carry them? The rest of our boys better be game tonight as well - not looking around thinking Homer's back, everything will fall into place. I'd really like to see some Detroit Red Wings hockey tonight; these half-ass efforts are gonna kill us.

Broken record: If this series and our playoffs were over today, i'm not sure how anyone could point to Dom as one of the reasons to blame. Anyways, I do agree if they lose this game our backs are definitely to the wall big time. Winning 3 in a row? Do-able, but likely?? In '02 our Wings had a much different look and it seems a better killer instinct. The sore point for me so far this series is .. oh god, to say it again: I do'nt think we have brought our 'A' game at all yet. San Jose surely looks more to their true form than we have at least. Listen, to bow out against the better team in a series who has shown that is fine. Most of us could stomach the fact we just weren't the better team. But to lose this series when we know we haven't even seen the "real" WIngs show up yet? That would really piss me off. LEAVE IT ALL OUT ON THE ICE TONIGHT BOYS!! Go WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
