Listen I love our boys more than anything [yeh even you Bert], but this game tonight almost comes close to our "unique, unmatched, high-end sickeningly good, style of hockey". Great game. Habs need the win. And we meet 'em in the finals.

I guess Holland can either delude himself into believing Pavel and Hank are equal, or we can look at Hank's worth at about 9 or 10 million?

One can onlylaugh at the Lang insults at this point. Like cmon, check some of these posts that continually bash him, while saying Bertuzzi is GOD and Pavel is worth 7 million. You must have Holland confused with another GM. Yeh THAT'S gonna happen with Holland at the helm. A-What moving force. He himself said he sat in the background and just watch how the process worked. You know something we don't? B-Pretty well regarded that his contract is well below what he should make. C-Without Hasek we are nowhere near #1 in the league. MVP? Dominik.

History isn't on your side. How many guys have a great season in their contract year, get the FAT contract, then forget why they got it? The odds ain't with Holland on this one.

Depends on who he signed instead. Bertuzzi hasn't proved anything. And his health will remain an issue, when he looks for a new deal this summer. Some thought Kyle was like a throw-in or whatever, but if you knew his game, and his days back to junior coming up, there's some of us who did like the addition. It's the name of the game, when you're paid star money.

Funny .. all last summer, Luongo sucked. It's all you heard in here. No way he deserves 6 million a year. Regular season stats mean nothing. Never won in the playoffs. Franchise-player tag be damn. What if he shoots to superstardom, as Holland figures he will, you think he'll be happy at 6 million with lots of players not "as good" making more? I can't see it. Surely not if Greenstein is still his guy. Plus I just don't see how playoffs are not a factor.

No i'm talking reality. The pressure was there this year to perform. He was looking for a new contract. I'm in no way suprised he has been as good as he has been. Seen it MANY times before. But now that he's signed the deal, ya gotta know the pressure is in no way the same for him now, cause do or die, he's got the deal. Plus I can only go by what we know of Pavel from his past, can I?

Yeh well some think Sanjaya from American Idol is a good singer, and should still be on the show. If someone is so in love with a player, that they can't talk both sides of an argument, their opinion isn't really meaningful.

Well i'll leave his regular season stats alone. I just do not think he has shown anything that means something YET, to justify this contract. I simply dont buy the fact we drafted him, so we do all we can to keep him. My belief has always been the onus is on THE PLAYER to show his worth - and then a great management team and organization does their part to reward that. With little to go, except negatives if we're looking, this makes little sense.
