What should lines be when all are back
motorcitykid replied to russianswede919293's topic in General
7 games played this year. SEVEN. He's gonna come back after playing in maybe a couple of games, and contribute what exactly? Go with what got ya here. "Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Hudler-Lang-Calder Cleary-Filpulla-Sammy Franzen-Draper-Maltby" Mix in Tomas if he's back in time. -
EAST - Heatley, Crosby, Ovechkin .. Chara, Redden .. Brodeur WEST - Zetterberg, Thorton, Iginla .. Lidstrom, Niedermayer .. Luongo
-
And after a show of hands, explain something: Around hockey, [though not in here, cuz he plays for another team], Tootoo is regarded as player alot of teams would love to have. Bertuzzi on the other hand ...
-
Finally. Some sanity. Smart move: See what Pavel does come playoff time and use THAT as a measuring stick of his real worth to this organization. Holland's move: Beg, plead & rush to get a deal done when it simply defies logic.
-
Hasek. Home. A win. 1st in NHL.
-
Wings win by 2 tonight. Pull out a close one tomorrow. Take over the Conference lead, Thursday morning.

Aside from the fact i've posted here for over 3 years, let me see: because my avatar's a picture of Luongo [who's one of my faves and someone I wished Holland might've taken a chance on this past summer], because of my dislike for Bertuzzi and all he represents and because I have doubts what he'll contribute here, my loyalty to the Red WIngs is questioned? Uhh yeh, OK.
-
Yeh it's pathetic to see the same dudes who were all over Bertuzzi, now jump up to defend his ass, cause he's wearing our beloved red & white. As a long-time WIngs fan, and knowing what Todd Bertuzzi is about, what he represents, and the type of guy he is, seeing him in a Wings jersey makes me puke.
-
Still going on? I think you're in the wrong thread.
-
How's exactly is this worse? Bertuzzi ends a guys career, leaves him with chronic neck and spinal pain, plus recurring migrane headaches. Hollweg ends up with a cut chin. Do explain. Simon should be "thrown out the league" while the arrival of Bertuzzi has been applauded?? Guys like McSorley, Simon AND BERTUZZI should ALL be thrown out the league.
-
Why all the disagreements? In a few short months, he'll walk in free agency and we won't have to hear from him again.
-
Win this, with a game in hand, and we take over top spot. Nice. 3-2 Wings.

Either he was in demand or he wasn't. Do tell. Cause holding up Brian Burke, [who along with Naslund & Marc Crawford defended what he did to Steve Moore], as proof other teams wanted him is hilarious. We got him on the cheap. For next to nothing. Safe to say the interest in Bertuzzi was pretty damn limited. What is it Holland didn't get that most other GM's seemed to?
-
Hate Ken Holland? Grow up. I disagree with lots of what he does. We've been over the reasons before. As for the guys you named, come talk when the playoffs are done. No-one said they guarantee Cups, but side by side, Bertuzzi is definitely not on the top of my wish list. Apparently not many GM's either. But yet again, there is one dude jumping up & down telling us how lucky we are ... Holland. More of the same old same old. Brian Burke? Former Vancouver GM. Nuff said.
-
Simply put. He has not paid for the "mistake" he made with regards to Moore. Add in the fact he's well known as a self centered, me-first guy. One who completely disappeared on Vancouver last year. Hanging out with Markus Naslund, while choosing to alienate the rest of the team. Facts. Throw in he is not the player he once was or should've been - and likely won't be again. Injury prone. Doesn't do much when the games matter. A huge black eye for any team carrying him. This is a guy Detroit should have let pass by. Comparable players? Guys who were moved at the deadline? Seems pointless to name one, since in the course of a mere few months some around here have forgotten who Todd Bertuzzi IS and rather choose to portray him as a god, and say he's the missing piece here, or a sure as hell BIG one. That is laughable. And figures why no other teams seemed to be interested in him. Hoping a player with this track record BECOMES who you want him to be, is a hell of alot different than bringing over a player who IS. Ken Holland truly knows how to pick 'em.
-
No. What I am saying is i'd take just about anyone over Bertuzzi. And please, please, please don't try and group me in with the numerous people, some of which have posted in this thread ... who were screaming over the summer to sign Carter. WTF? Nothing indicates Bertuzzi is anything different than the selfish, injury prone, and perennial playoff loser tag he holds now. Nothing.
-
What are you talking about? I said who did we give up. Rhetorical. In other words not much of substance was MY point. Quite a few other teams wanted him? Some teams wanted him? What the hell was the price, if we got him for what we did? So to deduce, it's safe to say unless it was some type of Florida rival ... the price was peanuts. Where were all the other teams? Carter. Smyth. Roberts. Give me ANYONE over this chump. Yeh. 6 career playoff goals.
-
Yeh it could take some time, but it be funny as hell to check through some old posts to see that some of the same boneheads who were mad as hell and down on getting Hasek this summer are cheering up & down that we got this chump. And watch how it's gonna be the same people saying don't bring him back July 1st. Some of us can only laugh at the crystal balls that are always pulled out and peeked into on these boards. Bertuzzi offers nothing of substance anymore. He sure as hell isn't the player he once was. Nowhere near it. Get real. And check what we gave up ... NOBODY ELSE wanted this guy.
-
Just got back from Vegas. Heard the news. Threw up. Goon. Selfish. Injury-prone. No-show in the playoffs. I don't care if this deal was for a bag of pucks. Todd Bertuzzi should never wear this jersey. Ken Holland says it's a GREAT move. Word around the rest of the league? Not alot of thumbs up. But then again, isn't that usually the word on most of his moves?
-
Defense looks strong. Kindl & Meech rated slightly ahead of Kyle. And suprise: Grigs still on the radar. Article here
-
Well then why the hell did ya roll your eyes? I'm happy cause Nashville won't be winning anything this year. Even more happy when we hear Fatty Bertuzzi went to one of 29 OTHER teams.
-
Roll 'em all ya want. Do NOT turn this into a "Holland is GREAT!" thread.
-
Yup. He's now a Predator. Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, a 1st and 3rd rouner. And so it begins ... Holland apparently just woke from his nap, and will comment shortly.

The guy who wrote the article is a bonehead. And late. So Shanahan moved to the Rangers so he could be closer to the NHL offices and maybe a job there when he's done playing? THAT'S news? Who the hell cares? After the work he did during the lockout etc, good for Brendan.
