I might be able to get behind this tomorrow, I don't know. But boy is it refreshing to hear some truth in here tonight. Way too many threads about losing and winning as a damn team. Who the hell missed Howard letting in a very depressing and game changing goal with 6 seconds left in the first?? Forward to the 3rd period. Yup! Again Howard let's in a goal from the f'n corner!! The CORNER! in a Stanley Cup playoff game, yet again ... losing our lead and focus and energy. For F sakes, who missed Clearys interview in the first intermission when he rolled his eyes when asked about the 6 second goal? He said you can not give up that goal. Yet some in here are blaming a bouncing puck Williams shot that went over the net and around the glass. WTF??? Also telling was the bench after freebie goal #3. The look on Lids Ericcsson and Stuarts faces while Howard stood there was priceless. Starting Osgood would do one thing starting Howard next game won't: it gets in the Sharks thinking and perhaps worrying. Cause NOONE is intimidated by Howard at all now. I've watched him in the A. And now in the NHL. He's weak blocker side. He's way too floppy. He's way too prone to getting off focus. He goes down too quick and then stays there. Yes, rookie is right. But please stop insulting the other fans here cause some of us BELIEVED at the outset of the playiffs, IF Jimmy played well, we'd return to the Finals. It used to be us scoring 1 bloody goal. Now it's shifty goaltending that has us on the verge of elimination - and I'll rank this up there with the Cup Finals last year. Look who's left playing. This year is like a gimme with the teams still here. It ain't nowhere the same level of play we faced the past 2 playoffs. What a ******* waste!!! The refs were suspiciously loose with the Sharks and seeing things simply not there with us. Howard played once again like crap - at the worst turning points in the game. And outplaying the Sharks for a 2nd straight game, even 3 maybe, nets us this shifty pathetic depressing unbelievable shocking (to some of us, anyways) result. Quit the happy to be here attitudes. Some of us expected alot more. And while I despised everything Croshy related, I've lost so much respect for the NHL this year. For really, the first time. Soccer has been fixing matches for years. The NBA knowingly had refs fixing games. The MLB people know cheats are in the game, but rather clean up their sport, they insult us with bulls*** 'testing'. Why should we expect pro hockey to be any different. Last year they wanted, needed they said practically, Crosby in the Final. This year it's the feel good chokers finally getting past their demons. The Red Wings?? Thanks for your great ownership Marion & Mike. But your tram actually winning it all is bad for our business and bottom line. *end rant* My fellow Red Wing fans: let's hope like hell there's is a way, a God, a spirit, a voodoo doll ... something, to get us back in this series and do what we've done all these years: WIN while everyone else bans together to see we don't. Most interesting part of Game 1 was the Sharks almost waiting to see what Detroit was going to do instead of playing their own game. That's why the loss left a bad taste. These overhyped Sharks are so beatable. Cmon boys, let's roll over them today and get home for back to back wins and a stranglehold on this series. There is simply NO excuse for not finishing checks, s***ty passes and lack of hustle. We do not want to play catch up every damn game. The Game 4, Game 5 or Game 7 efforts we showed against the Coyotes would be great!!!!!!

No shame? You realize they are picked as a potential Cup winner right? They DO NOT get off this easy. They won the West. No score but imagine the Wings coming out today and playing as dominant, especially defensively, as they did Games #4 and #5. This is what I'll be watching for as much as us winning the game itself. If we play the way we have done the last two games I think we will really know that this team is readying themselves for a long Cup run. Horrible announcer. Way too 'look at meeeee, I'm sitting beside NHL players. They're my friends ...." ALL GAME LONG. Every game he's involved in. As for tonight, he mentioned 4 Coyote players and their history, teams, where they're born, and I believe even what their favorite kind of toilet paper is. SMH. He went on to say the Coyotes are gonna make everyone believers. The Coyotes had a great year. The Coyotes are big, strong. Blah blah f***in blah .... The Sharks. Then the Pens. Now the Coyotes. Bias has NO place in play by play broadcast but it's not like we ain't used to this nonsense. We let these knowitalls talk and talk and talk their 'expert' predictions .... while Zata owns Sissy Crosby and we win Cups. Go Wings!!!

Timely goals are more important than just scoring at this time and the Canucks look to be just about out yet again, relying on 2 players + Luongo to win a Cup ....

Not sure which games a few other posters have watched but in 3 games i've seen Howard has done nothing to make the team in front of him feel secure knowing he's back there. Yes, I have pulled for Jimmy all year and his rookie win total is pretty damn good considering the huge amount of injuries suffered since the season started. But in the playoffs - I don't care about this nonsense about offense being a bigger factor with the big teams in the league - goaltending wins Cups. This ain't the 80s where you could allow 5 and still win ala The Oilers. Jimmy needed to make the saves in Game 1, and though 1 mightve been screened. He didn't. Game 2, again, he made mistakes that we survived only because we scored 7. Game 3 - again, not a very inspired performance, with 2 goals that he very much shouldve had. Goalies make saves not only important ones, but at important TIMES. Howard hasn't. But thinking management is run like the 29 other teams is false. He is our guy. And he's the starter unless next game he's blown out by 7 or 8. Quit asking for Ozzie. He's not coming and nor should we expect him to come in ... Jimmy needs this experience. I sure as hell hope this is the start of a turnaround and the Wings start putting up a few wins in a row. Yeh PHX hit 50 W's this year, but I refuse to believe that team should be defeating us in a 7 game series. Even if we win tomorrow, it's just as important to see Howard start showing some confidence out there - some cockiness, although watching Jim since junior I realize that's not exactly his makeup. I don't know. I just don't like the way this series may be shaping up ... And do Wings fans with longggggg memories a favor and quit s***ting on Ozzie. Babcock over-committed using Howard all season (which I understand why) but he now only has the option of calling a cold and rusty Ozzie. Not really fair. And like it or not it is Howards job to get done. We ain't down 2-1 because of our offence. 11 goals against in 3 games is not good enough. And where the hell is Eaves Bertuzzi Miller ??? Guessing they might already be on summer vacation.

It wasn't about the refs. It wasn't about who took a shot at who's head. It's about the small battles lost, what I consider s***ty faceoff work from our side and a pathetic, uninspired PK. Yeh, I'll bet money on any team netting 3 PP goals on us again. Howard was screened on 2 of their 3 goals. Cmon people!! Playoff time of year means the goofy comments are also back. RE-LAX!!! It's one game. Red Wings wouldn't be panicking even if they lost the first 2 games, yet some of you already bitching about the non-calls. Stay positive or don't come back in here when the Wings tie the series tomorrow ....
