Agreed. I really hope this doesn't snowball. If we're healthy I don't care if it's the Sharks, Hawks or whoever in the first round - we can beat any of these teams. Wings 4-1 made even more enjoyable tonight by watching Sissy Crosby get shut down by the worlds best: Zata. Go Wings.

^^ this. A healthy, and really in some guys cases, well rested, team 4th5th6th seed, wherever the Wings end up really has me confident. Until Chicagos best beats our best full strength, then whatever. Until the Sharks win a few rounds, why should the Wings fear the addition of Heatley while losing Cheechoo? Vancouver? Whichever team wants to face us first round, please show your hands. Lol.

The way I see it we won't be doing much of anything today except a waiver drop or draft pick pickup. And really, aside from those who want to see something done just to make a move, this team is coming back to 100% healthy and that alone means Holland is figuring let's see where we are at with a complete roster at Babcocks disposal. I may be in the minority here as well, but I expect alot more this playoff coming up than a first or second round exit. For f%#^ sakes the media knowitalls are picking LA PHI and NJ over us. I expect to see a healthy lineup produce this year, not next. We've had it hard the first half but if there's any team who isn't really a true 7th or 8th seed, it is us. Now get on a roll, and win some damn games and a top 4 Western Conference seeding. Possible Cup winners I keep hearing are Pittsburgh? Chicago? San Jose? ...... how about Detroit?? Am I alone on this??? Go Wings!!! Edit: these TSN clowns just compared Osgood to Huet saying if Detroit could win with Osgood why can't Chicago??? And the annual 'SHARKS are the team to beat' has also started. SMFH

^^ Also throw in the immense pressure this kid has up in Toronto. Yeh, management ain't coming right out and saying so but they don't have the confidence in Toskala Burke and Co. claim to have. They want this kid to push Toskala, which is fine, but there ain't many things the Leafs head office ever does right. They've hyped this kid big time and if there's one thing their pathetic fanbase and team personnel do every year it's over hyping players, asking whoever is their latest hot shot pick up to be every man and that type of nonsense almost always comes back to bite them in the ass. Kessel better net 60 goals or they'll be calling him a bust by January. It WILL be fun watching Burke explain it all away once the Leafs hit their annual tailspin though.

Believe it or not I have not seen a single picture of Sissy Crosby or the rest of the Penguins holding the Cup, near the Cup or any photo related to that painful night back in June. It is the first time in my life that I've purposely stayed very far away from any hockey related material all summer. Being a Wings fan all my life, I like most of you have been through some hellish times and some teary eyed nights. I prefer to NOT think or be reminded of anything Cup related to last year. Conspiracy or not, I believe in my heart the NHL wanted nothing more than to have the Pens win it last year. So the end result took a big piece out of me. Let's move on. We have a long season ahead. And the cupboard, while not bare, looks to be a little more empty than it has been it awhile. I personally dislike a few moves Holland gas made so far - especially bringing Bertuzzi back. He plays with no heart, injured or not and he is looking for a paycheck and that seems to he all. Williams?? What can I say?? But this is the time for optimism and as long as Marion and Mike are leading the way, I'm confident our team is still on track for another successful season - which to me includes a Cup. I'm very happy that they see nothing good in finishing second place and the only successful season is a Cup winning one. That's a mentality I haven't seen pretty much anywhere else in sports. Let's start with a good opener overseas and see where we go. Go Wings!!!

Exactly. But really who is suprised? A friend of mine said it best today. We are so use to winning we can't stomach anything less than a Cup every year. I love Marion and Mike. I love Babs. s***, i've been on Holland's ass more than, hmmmm ... like, a thousand times on this forum over what he did or didn't do. This team, top to bottom, makes me so very, very, very proud to be a Wings fan. And I want to see that drive and determination to win EVERY year! Not many pro TEAMS, never mind NHL teams, can say the same about their organizations. He came up against two of the best players in the world and didn't very much like it. Hank. Pavs. Take your pick. The crybaby was SHUT DOWN!! And will be again, if ever the Pens get the help from the NHL again, like this year and make it back to the Finals. And THAT is what I will remember MOST from these playoffs. Sid the "kid" is not a leader, nor the best player in the league. I'll enjoy THAT this summer.

Exactly. Now I mentioned Yzerman earlier in the thread merely to say that it pains me knowing what he went through with the knees and yet NEVER EVER gave up!! EVER!! I realize not many guys are made like him, but do not tell me they "left it all out on the ice". I was as saddened last night as I was embarrassed. I remember Stevie trying to get up each time he was knocked down using his ******* stick. He had no strength. Remember?? Over and over. Knocked down. Got up! Anyone using these bulls*** excuses are an embarrassment to me as a fellow fan. 1 game. 60 minutes. You're either able enough to get on the ice or you shouldn't be playing!! Refs were brutal all playoffs. But as they began I said over and over that I'd like to meet anybody from the Eastern Conference EXCEPT the Penguins. I don't even need to justify my remark but when fans of the ******* Avs and Ducks, and Canadian media and fans express shock at the calls the refs let the Pens get away with ... I know something is suspicious. Last night they allowed more of the same slashing, hooking and cheapshots as they did all series. Unfortunately it was THE Cup clinching game. The NHL got their wish. Their so-called posterboy got his ring. Too bad it's tainted.

Funny thread. It's Stuart's fault! It's Stuart's fault! How about Osgood making the save he should've made on goal #2 and we'd be likely celebrating right now. Talbot was shooting all the way. That was obvious. Osgood was too far to his right and left way too much net to Talbot's right - so, so easy to pick, which he did. Did noone see the guys faces right after? Did no-one 'hear' the crowds silence? That was the turning point in the game. And this coming from me - who stood by him all season while he was called a bum around here. Down 1-0, you are only thinking, one goal - one, and we're tied. But down two? f***. Now we need to score three to win. Big difference in your mindset. Ozzie needed to make that save and he didn't. What a long ******* summer ....
