We're 5-0. Last nights game wasn't pretty but it was playoff hockey. And as much as I too have sometimes have wondered or moreso, have waited for Hossa to take over a game or two, it's wayyyy early guys. Enjoy where we are today! Never put much stock in what's said between games. As for Vermette? Big deal! The Wings will simply not let these guys back in the series. Tonights game has me feeling real good. If anything, I'm looking at Game 4 as the bigger threat. Tonight? Home crowd. First home playoff game .... no matter. Gods team's just too focused right now. I guess we will see come playoff time. I'm of the mind that if we, *gulp* don't repeat, it will be because the Sharks, for example, played the better game at the right time. I don't see physical play deciding our fate with the group of guys we've got, who will be dressed.

I'm curious to what the above comment means. I've yet to see anybody explain exactly why we need him in the lineup. Downey's a goofy dude, and a joker. I've chatted with him a few times, albeit briefly, in GR. But he's not really a heavyweight. And since we play such a European style, he doesn't warrant taking up a roster spot for any more than a game here or there, no matter how many people wish it. It ain't going to happen.

I love how his shot, and accuracy so resemble Lidstrom's. That almost-goal by Pavs off a redirect from Ericss awesome fake shot was proof indeed he's got the goods.

Ozzie's lost it. We're mostly a soft team that gets pushed around frequently. Mule? Yup. Weak legs. And now another softie as well. It's amazing the short memories some people around here have.

I mean, cmon, Filpulla could've been shipped out. Also, Ozzie is past his prime, and looks to be nowhere near capable of leading us into the playoffs again. Conklin? Awww God! He's unproven. The Leafs? What's worse? A team run by people who have no clue what they're doing? Or a team that could utilize their "standing" in the hockey world to hire the right people to help them win, but instead choose not to. As for the trade, you should know that most everyone thinks the Phoenix robbed Philly.

Look at their roster LAST year. Now this year. I'm having trouble getting together with you on this. I just do not see what the HUGE difference is. Two very decent lines, and two average lines. A Sutter team is hell to play against. But to me Detroit is as strong or stronger than last year, and defending Cup champs who don't bulls*** around when the games count. Calgary still needs to prove Kipper can get back AND STAY at the level he was a few seasons ago. If anything, you'd think this might be the year SJ actually gets to the next level. They haven't even been to the Finals yet. And no telling if they'll be the better team if they get there.

Calgary will cheapshot their way into the playoffs. And then ... disappear. All that physical play doesn't add up to wins, as far as i'm concerned. Scoring? Goaltending? Not much to fear there. *edit* Oh, and I actually don't dislike the Flames.

Toskala is out for the season. Gerber will be the starter. Kolzig - the water boy. Why the Leafs don't bring up Justin Pogge to play in half their remaining games is strange. Somewhere in Burke's mind he must think this team has a shot at a playoff spot. Like hockey heads have wondered numerous times, when are the Leafs going to give him a chance, good or bad, to see exactly where he's at. No, instead the Leafs play him a game here, a game there. And they wonder why their team is the butt of so many jokes.
