I'm lucky if I missed 15 days total through school, and most of those were from hockey injuries anyway. My brother missed about 35 days in one year. All he had to say was I feel bad and bam didn't have to go. I'm coughing up blood, tough it out and go to school. So I know how you feel wingnut.

Found the "picture" waste of my time. If I wanted to see girls play hockey I would watch my sisters. Oh thats right I forgot, mind numb from long exposure to computer, they don't play anymore. In that case awesome picture.

Went to wrong thread trying to find "picture". Went to Hottest Wing and not Non-Hottest Wing.

http://www.myspace.com/psychedelicmindsanonymous You will need to pause one of the players to be able to listen just one at a time, unless you really want to listen to both at the same time.

I don't play for real money at least not yet. I only play for play chips. I'm trying to win a freeroll at some point then I will play for real money.

Anybody know where the bathroom is I seem to have forgotten where its at since playing poker last 12 hours.
-
I think I may have a small problem, albeit a very small one. I think I may be addicted to internet poker, especially Full Tilt. Is playing about 40+ hrs. in 3 days a bad thing?

Actually Im not from Kitchener, I live in Illinois. Used Kitchener for when Kindl was there and have been to lazy to change the picture.

The advertisements wouldnt necessarily be for the people at the game as much for the people who watch the games on TV especially now that games are broadcasted in HD. Hey look at the 2 inch insignia just below the crest but above the large (insert company) symbol of the (insert company). Must buy it now since (insert player) is wearing it, since it must be good. Glad I have HD or else I wouldn't have seen what (insert player) favorite (insert company) is. No thank you.

Nice Booster Have nothing to say at the moment but I like the idea maybe make this a daily ritual or weekly which ever is easier.

I don't like the idea of advertising on the jerseys, however if they went with the helmets I would be alright with that. To a lesser extent possibly the pants. Both areas get quite a bit of them shown and it leaves the traditional jerseys alone. Might not get as much revenue but at least its something and its not nearly as invasive as the jerseys. The only problem with doing the helmets and pants is that it would most likely eventually lead to the jerseys being advertisements and I am against it. I hope you guys don't tear me to shreds for saying this.

I am not surprised that ESPN is starting to suffer. I started to notice it especially when they started showing poker, even though it was the hot thing at the time, instead of other sports. What about the fact that Monday Night Football is the least watched football game, with exception to the games on NFL Network for obvious reasons. NBC has become a strong sports contender now, which is probably a good thing for the NHL even though its only half a season. CBS has probably become the true new powerhouse of the sports world. Fox is strong because they are starting to show a majority of the important sporting events (Super Bowl, MLB playoffs, Daytona 500, etc.). Versus, while not available to many at this point, is growing rather quickly amongst service providers and even though I'm not a fan of MMA or bull riding many other people are. This could be advantageous to the NHL in that these shows usually come on after a hockey game. So if the game is close late or goes to overtime or shootout, people that generally watch those other shows might catch these games and become interested since it was exciting to watch. Going back to ESPN however they seem to be like the tabloids of the sports world. Whatever the hottest ticket is at the time is what they are going to show. I guess I could say unfortunately for them, but I am not, is that many leagues are not interested in just being showcased at ESPN's next top model. There are only so many sports in the world you can show and even fewer that the Americans are going to watch. As for the east coast bias, its not surprising since a majority of Americans live in the east, especially New England. While as a whole the country could give a hoot, most New Englanders are glad that ESPN is around.

1. Sweden- very skilled nation that is currently number 1 in the world. They also have players that are much more complete game then most, not all obviously, nations. Have enough players that can play physically. 2. Russia- Always love watching their style of play. Old generation tape-to-tape passing that would somehow eventually find a guy wide open in front of the net with an open net to shoot at. Today's generation has some of the most deadly goal scorers in the NHL (Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Malkin, etc.). Behind Sweden for the simple fact that most of the top players that come out of Russia are usually one-dimensional. Most of them are not the most physical presence (with exception to guys like Ovechkin, Konstantinov, etc.). 3. Finland- I think a country on the rise to prominence. Starting to have players become more noticeable. Lost to Sweden in the last Olympics. Will be interesting to see where they are in the next 5-10 years. 4. Czech Republic- Much like Finland are becoming a more noticeable country as a whole rather than just a select few (Lang, Jagr, Hasek, etc.). Represented by the biggest player ever to lace up the skates in the NHL in Chara. Have players of all shapes and sizes that are just as diverse in their style of play. 5. United States- My homeland. I think they are just starting to scratch the surface as a possible team to be afraid come time of international competitions. The game is growing in places that it never did before. California is starting to show that they have talent in their state, who would thought the 10-20 years ago. Now with the game growing in the South, it just means there are more places to find top notch talent. 6. Slovakia- Unlike their rivals to the west in the Czech Republic, they seem to lack overall as a rather competitive team on either as a country as a whole or having elite names. Tough to say whether or not they will ever be able to compete with that of their former partner, or any other country for that matter. 7. Canada- I admit I am a little biased here. I never really have liked Canada for some reason (country has beautiful landscape and it did produce Yzerman). Teams seem to be an unbeatable force overall at the junior level. For some reason though this rarely translates in the higher levels. Could it be just poor chemistry amongst the team (although Yzerman seemed to fix that problem last I knew) as in not enough puck to good around. Maybe its because the Stanley Cup is more important to them then the international championships, which are more important to European teams. 8. Germany/Latvia- For some reason these countries just can't quite be considered with the other 7 teams above them. Always seem to be in the top tier when it comes to high level international tourneys, but are hardly noticeable squads with the exception of maybe a couple of teams. 9. Slovenia- Slovenia? Where the hell is that? Do they even play hockey there? I know this might be a weird spot to put this country since no one has ever seen this team play at a top tier at any level junior through adult. The reason why I put these team here is that we are starting to see them send players to top levels. Anze Kopitar played in the Elitserien before playing in the NHL. A Detroit prospect by the name of Jan Mursak is from there and he is showing signs that he might be a very good player. They also are moving up in the IIHF standings faster than anybody else. Which means they are also starting to translate not only players are good from there, but that as a team they are becoming a solid team, which in 5 years could easily be one of those countries that play year in and year out at the top level of international competition. 10. Switzerland/Kazakhstan/Belarus/Norway/Denmark/France/Italy/Great Britain/Poland/Austria/Ukraine/Japan/Lithuania/Hungary- These countries seem to always flirt between top tier and division 1 in international competitions and they seem to be going nowhere to either join the ones above or be so much worse then their fellow countries listed here. None of them have been seemingly consistent enough to even be considered with the likes of even Slovenia with the exception of Switzerland.

I was wondering if anybody can confirm this as I cant remember where or when I saw this, but doesn't Brunnstrom have the same agent as Cleary. If this is true and given that it sounds like Cleary really still wants to be a Wing, does this along with the other facts and reasons stated earlier in this thread, give the Wings an even better shot him or not? My belief is that if Cleary gets a good deal by the Wings (in the eyes of the agent moreso than Cleary), that might make the agent give the Wings a slightly (not really a whole lot) better chance at signing him. If he feels the Wings could have done a better deal (again more for his sake than Cleary's) he might try and steer him away from the Wings. Again I cant confirm that I saw this anywhere, but I am fairly sure I did.

I found the elitserien homepage and seems like you can watch the games online, but when I try it all I get is a blank screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Juice
