He can do whatever he wants but he can't do everything, something of which he would have to do if Flip were to center him. He was centering Hossa for one shift, that of which lasted a whole, what, 15 seconds, and that is ALL that was NEEDED for Babcock to realize that it was a horrible idea. Look, you're Finnish, I fully expect you to defend Flip 'til the death. But he is a perfect third line center and a 45 point guy, as I have said before. No right to be centering Hossa, who in all likelihood will have close to 100 points at the end of the season. Today proved that.

Sorry Flip lovers, but seeing that made me extremely happy, it is physical evidence that Flip has absolutely no right to be centering Hossa, so you can stop that whole charade. How is it bashing Flip if I am saying he is a perfect third line center on this team? Especially when I never doubt Flip's talent, it's just not all there yet. He's a 45 point guy. In the future he may be a 60 or 70 point guy. But as of now, he's an excellent defensive center and a perfect fit in the third line. Just because I don't think Flip's goal in the playoffs, when many compared it to Bobby freaking Orr's, vaulted him into superstar status doesn't mean I am bashing him.

That's great for Flip, but you aren't going to see it for a few years. He isn't that type of player yet, if he ever will be. You are kidding yourself if you think going from Datsyuk to Flip is not that big of a downgrade. It's a huge downgrade. He can certainly hold his own...on the third line, where he should be.

Please, please, please, please stop saying have Flip center Hossa. Hossa's production goes down at least 30 points if he is centered by Flip and that is no exagerration. He doesn't have the playmaking abilities Datsyuk does to get Hossa the puck. Flip is a perfect third line center on this team. If Hossa leaves next year then perhaps Flip will get bumped up to the second line. Until then, Flip has no reason to be above the third line.
