I don't know why people are so surprised / every other emotion out there. My friend mentioned to me yesterday how months ago I called he would be coming back. In fact I even joked around about it in the Brett Favre retires thread; It's really only natural what he is doing. After the season he had last year how is anyone surprised he didn't have thoughts to come back?

Funny how you only look at ONE statistic and declare yourself the winner. Way to be thorough though bud. You just keep looking at the stats that only back up some bs point that Iginla is overrated. I mean, I know it's fair to compare points to goals, or apples to oranges if you will. That makes TOTAL sense. And let's just forget about all his other assets. I know he doesn't drop his gloves, play defense, throw his body around, there is no possible way he is fast. He is totally not the quintessential power forward. Not a chance. Psssssssssssssssssssstttttttttttt. How many times have Hank and Pavel hit 40+ goals? I mean, if you are going to use 40+ goals as a standard than quite a bit of NHL players are overrated, including Hank and Pavel. Think things through before you decide to write them out.

Are you aware of Farnsworth's stats? And the fact that Pudge is past his prime? I mean, I know a 3.65 era and 43 strike outs in 44 innings sucks...

What does it matter about Inge, if anything it's bad that he will be full-time. He is still batting .227. But, Tigers needed bullpen help, and Farnsworth is exactly that and then some. I am taking the hit of playing Inge full-time if Farnsworth is going to be the closer.

I have read your posts, and it's hard to tell when one is exaggerating when you are using weightless information -including just agreeing with "some experts"- to try and back up your stance. You, however, haven't answered my questions, which I don't plan on you doing. Just because he doesn't play like Datsyuk does not mean he is overrated. Datysuk shouldn't even be in the conversation. Datysuk is not underrated either. If it is commonly known in the hockey world that Hank and Datsyuk are one of the best, if not best, duos in hockey neither can be overrated. Again, one doesn't accumlate what Iginla has by being overrated

Wow, I don't know where to begin. I mean, I guess, I can begin with don't you think stats like those are correlated with the amount of skill a player has? One doesn't just magically accumulate that amount of points just by pure luck. Next, I will safely bet you are the only person in the world that thinks Iginila is overrated. I mean for someone who "watches him play plenty and knows what he's talking about" you would see that Iginila is, in fact, one of the best players in the NHL. I would also assume you know what a dump and chase is since you watch him so much, this obviously isn't the case. And I'd also argue that Iginla is just as good defensively as Datsyuk and Hank.

You don't watch him play much do you? The guy is equivalent to a 5-tool player in the MLB and very much a monster on the ice. I hardly think 98 points (27 plus/minus) in the regular season and 9 points in 7 games in the playoffs is overrated.
