Dreams can come true

Ok. And were you the same way with Pav and Hank, actually are you still the same way? Because up until last year they didn't do jack s**t in the playoffs, it could have been a fluke for all anyone knows too. If you want to play the playoff game, what has Malone done?

Hossa. 65 goals next season if he is a Wing.

Hasek: Losing his edge or just disinterested 'til playoffs?
dallas27 replied to clayjoh's topic in General
I highly doubt Hasek is "just disinterested," he just isn't the same goalie he used to be. Granted he still is a very capable one. -
I didn't go to ONE GAME last year hoping that I could shake off this curse I have. My friend asked me a while ago if I wanted to go to Saturday's game. So chalk that one up as a loss too. Then no more for me, unfortunately.

Reading comprehension 101. And I quote myself:

The fact that you can not come up with a legitimate argument leads me to believe it is true.

I am now on a 15 game losing streak at Copa

I love how you put up the I support Osgood facade. How in the world can you sit there and say "Go, Ozzie!!" after you say "OK, Dom is having an Ozzie start here" and then continue to bash him and actually think anyone is going to believe you. Priceless. They seemed to get some life into them after Hank scored, hopefully that carries over.

Are you honestly trying to say Brandon freaking INGE is a better baseball player than Cabrera? You know how ridiculous you sound right? I mean I know Brandon is being slotted as the MVP like Cabrera is. I know people are also slotting Brandon Inge as a candidate for the hall of fame like people are for Cabrera is. Please. You have to get over this Brandon Inge thing. He's an awesome utility player and should not be complaining. Can't be a starting third baseman or starting anything and be hitting .220 all season. It doesn't matter how good defensively you are. He may have gotten screwed, but here is the thing. That's the nature of the beast in the MLB. s*** happens. Get over it. Reading the newspaper I don't get how people can say the bullpen was an issue last game, they give up 1 earned run, and people are going to *****? If anything they did great. It's not the bullpens fault that they can't get someone home after THEY GET A LEAD OFF DOUBLE.

He is starting because his last name is Hasek, of course all the Hasek fan club will disagree. Statistically and performance wise a different goalie is better for the job. Osgood has flat out stolen a couple games this year, something that really can not be said for Hasek. EVERYONE points out that Hasek lead the league in GAA, but EVERYONE NEGLECTS to say he's been BELOW a .900 SV% for majority of the season. For someone of Hasek's stature I find that pretty unacceptable. He may have dug himself into a hole in the first months, but who's fault is that? Osgood on the other hand has been AT LEAST in the top 10 in SV% all season, who also, correct me if I am wrong, lead the league in that category for quite some time. You have a goalie that has a really good GAA and a really good SV%, actually the best for a while, and you have another goalie who has a really good GAA and a dismal SV%. Which one do you pick? Of course people are going to point out that the one goalie has blah blah blah trophies. He does. But you can't say, ever again, they should "ride the hot goalie" because that certainly isn't him. Hasek has been the starter for a while now, he has the luxury of being Dominik Hasek, which is the only reason why he is starting seeing as, again, another goalie has outplayed him all season. Of course, none of this matters so long as Hasek doesn't pull any s*** in the playoffs and plays as he should. He plays like he should, the team plays like they should, they have a legit shot at the cup. Easy as that.

Opening day will be rained out, unfortunately

I found my Red Wing beanie that I thought was lost forever. Day is complete.

Small, small chance but I would love to see JHo play another game. As for Hasek, he will still start the playoffs. No matter what.
-
Yea, that has to be nice. Shaving is such a pain in the ass. Winning the lotto would help solve so many problems.

Exactly. But let's not forget the first two months don't count for Hasek, so these numbers may be off /sarcasm. I'm actually surprised some people haven't commented on that yet. Maybe because the argument of it doesn't matter what Hasek does in the first couple months isn't bearing any weight when another goalie has outplayed him ALL season? I find it funny when I talk to my friends that have no bias they agree that the only reason why Hasek is starting in the playoffs is because of the name on his jersey. I'm sure some other people will disagree and let me know, and I wonder who their favorite goalie is...

I work at a golf store, as long as I keep it clean they don't care. I started mine Saturday, I couldn't wait (that's what she said). So I should have a good one by tomorrow or wednesday. I have a 5 o'clock shadow around 1 or 2.

I'll agree with you, Hasek was waaaaayyy to deep in his net today. I'd like to see him come out a little more. At times his angles were off as well. Those are the two reasons for the 2nd and 3rd goals.
-
Stay in your net Dom, you aren't going to be beating anyone up anytime soon, as much as you think you will, how old are you again? Knowing the Wings luck you would get injured doing so as well.

My friend went #1 with Draper, he said Drapes didn't wash his hands. Come on Draper. If you really want to see a bunch of people, work with me. Dino gets everything for his outing and all his golf stuff with us at Golfsmith. I've seen him a couple times. Carlos Guillen also got a bunch of stuff from us last year. Some d-bag that used to work with us went right up to Guillen and was like "shouldn't you be practicing for the game" or something like that, totally scared Carlos off. Thanks d-bag that used to work with us. If you are like me and just say "hey, what's up" you will actually find out they are willing to talk to you. Don't ask for their autograph, don't talk about sports at all, and truth be told they will have a conversation with you. Guillen has NO jaw, pprrrrooobably from chewing nearly all year round.

Firstly, amazing game. Osgood played phenomenal and won that game, along with Z. So I think I was sitting by Downey's cousin or brother. This guy looked like a more attractive version of Downey but you could definitely tell that they had to be related. He was with this hot, hot blonde (my friends told me to steal her, I told them I don't want Aaron Downey knocking down my door), couldn't check to see if she had a ring, so could have been Downey's wife, don't know what she looks like, or it could have been the cousin's girlfriend and/or wife. Well the suite coordinator or event coordinator, I dunno, he had a suit on, came and talked to them. He started pointing to the other side of the arena and what not. So I'm thinking something is up. Second intermission comes and I tell my friends I might ask him if he is related to Aaron Downey. So I ask him and he sorta laughs and says no. I immediately turn to my friends and proclaim that he is a liar. They never came back, I wonder why, probably because he couldn't face me because he knew he lied to me. Whatever Aaron Downey's cousin or brother, I know you are out there, I'm on to you. I wasn't going to mug you or anything, I just wanted to know if you were related. Matt, next game you go to, check out the Molson prices. I was in section 123 and there was a Molson cart in the promenade right outside and ALL the Molson $8.50. We were there two weeks ago and we both know a regular Molson was $8.25. Meech looked really good out there. Throwing his body around, couple really nice checks, going into the corner, he was really just all over the place. And what's really nice was when they were in their defensive zone and you could see Meech trying to direct traffic. I think that's a huge advantage when you have a forward that can do that in your own defensive zone. I'd love to see more of him out there playing forward. What to say about Chris Osgood. Stole that game, plain and simple. Didn't get a star, I have no idea why. That first period and the second and the third, until Z exploded, was just us applauding and cheering for Osgood. The two glove saves he made in the first, as well as the little 2-1, and an awesome kick save, were crazy. I texted "AWESOME F***ING SAVE OSGOOD" at least 4 times in the first period alone. And I'm sitting there trying to figure out a reason to NOT start Osgood in the playoffs. You have a goalie that has been plagued with the injury bug all year and a goalie, although he did cool off for a while, has played pretty damn consistent good hockey ALL season long. And who is also the league leader in GAA and in the top 10 for SV%, 17 points ahead of his counter-part who is in the bottom 10 for SV%. And then I thought, it's all for nothing, it doesn't matter what he does, Hasek is in no matter what. I just hope Hasek can have a performance tonight like Osgood's last night, he needs to catch fire, and soon. Totally threw my Detroit Tiger beanie on the ice, I like to think Z picked it up and wears it all the time. Or at least has it in his locker or something.

I don't post everytime even though the thread tells me to do so, I like to be a rebel

It's a really big deal, I'm going to the game and want to see Z play. I am very selfish when it comes to these things (that's what she said).
