3/19 Morning Skate: Filppula out (groin)

Ugh, it's probably Hank as the others have said. I'm going to the game, that's going to be disappointing if Z isn't playing.

    Post Everytime You Look

I would like to brag that I haven't had to pay to go to a Red Wing game in a few years, including the one I am going to tonight. Guess being obsessed with the Wings for all my friends to see pays off.

Vesa Toskala just got scored on from 197'

Ok. But I'll still argue that if he doesn't try to catch the thing and let it hit him in the chest we aren't having this dicussion. Which would actually suck as I saw it on ESPN at the bar all night and couldn't help but chuckle everytime.

With all due respect you can't compare this goal to a hard grounder, maybe to a slap shot that was tipped or something. But not a shot from 197 feet. It's like a routine grounder that hits a rock in front of you and it takes a bad hop. If you have your body in front of it odds are you are going to knock it down.

He put his glove out to try and catch it. Shot like that you have to get your whole body in front of it. You can't just try to grab it. Get your body in front of it, let it hit your chest. It's happened to me before and that's how I handled it. Before anyone says u arent in teh nhl tho lolz!!11!!1!1! You don't have to be in the NHL to try and stop a puck that is knuckling. It's happened to me in baseball too. That's why when you field a grounder you get your body in front of the ball to at least knock it down if it takes a bad hop.

Vesa Toskala just got scored on from 197'

It's not bad luck or the fact that the puck was knuckling. Get your damn body in front of it. Don't just try to use your glove to stop it. If someone taught him to try to stop the puck that way that person should be shot.

:caution: Sorry, had to use it. If you honestly think that, please don't continue in goalie discussions.

Goalie discussions with people who aren't blindly allegiant to one side? That's impossible at letsgowings.com Same here. In a perfect world one of them, more so Hasek as we know he is the starter, catches fire so they can ride a hot goalie into the playoffs. Especially if Detroit/Vancouver pan out for the first round. Luongo is bound to play out of his mind, so one of the Wings goalies (Hasek) are going to need to do the same thing if they want to win.

Nobody is saying that. Did he manage a 1.0 sv% though? I think the answer lies within the stat sheet. And how do you know Osgood would have not done much better? And how do you know for a FACT that Hasek stops that first one? Do you have a crystal ball (that's what she said)? What are the winning numbers for the mega millions? Hasek lovers here are amazing too. He can't ever do anything wrong. EVER. So stop your bitching about double standards. It's old news. Everyone is going to forget about the goals Hasek let in this game when the next game rolls around. Because there will be something else to ***** about.

Again I'm going to have to politely disagree but also agree. Disagree because you can't compare their play in the month of Feb. to anything. That was just pathetic hockey. But I agree where none have really risen to the occasion proving that hey, you should be starting me in the playoffs. I've made this argument before, Hasek is getting the nod because his name is Hasek and everything that is associated with it. It's not a bad thing though, really, he's one of the best to ever put the pads on. And be careful saying you don't think Hasek's done so once this year. You just unleashed an evil known as Hasek lovers. Good luck with that. I'd say I have your back but I don't know if I can put myself in that kind of danger haha.

3/16 GDT: Blue Jackets 4, Red Wings 3

If you are talking about todays game you are officially out of your mind. I mean I know a .600 sv % is just every bit as good as a 1.0 sv %

I feel it doesn't even matter if Osgood plays outstanding and Hasek plays like s***. Babcock and Holland have publicly stated Hasek is the guy. He can play like absolute s*** and he's getting the nod in the playoffs. Will he be on a short leash? I actually don't think so. And I'm going to have to disagree with inconsistent play for Osgood. Most all of those inconsistent starts was when the Wings were playing horrible, horrible hockey (and that is putting it nicely) and not helping him one bit. NO goalie could have pulled them out of that month.

I haven't seen the goals. But in typical LGW fashion I see one group of people saying none were his fault and another saying they were bad. Hasek can play like he did today until the end of the season. Doesn't matter how well Osgood plays. Dom IS the starter for the playoffs, no matter what.

Early Predictions Wings out in First Round

It's not a ridiculous prediction. Luongo can take over a game. If the Wings fail to put out any offense on the ice they are going to be in trouble against him. And you know he's going to be hot going into that series as most goalies are when they play the Wings in the playoffs. That can spell trouble for them.

    3/15 GDT: Predators 3, Red Wings 1

I'd be willing to bet the opposition would be willing to pay the Wings to keep Sammy on the ice at all time. The shot count would be 0. Well, Sammy's shot count would be 987234876 but since none ever hit the net they wouldn't be registered. He sucks more than an 8 mile woman of the night, maybe Sammy should start demanding money for his services.

Hasek has sore back. Ozzie to start tomorrow night.

Because you are arguing with people that, despite claiming no bias and putting up the I don't care who starts facade, will always want Hasek to start. Question, not specifically to you Ev: What does everyone think Hasek's stats would be had he played during the stretch of pee-wee hockey the Wings played? Despite Ozzie having to play through that his stats are still better than Hasek's.

Hasek has sore back. Ozzie to start tomorrow night.

It doesn't matter if Osgood gets a shutout from every game here on, it also really never mattered how he has played the whole season, it was known that Hasek was going to start the playoffs from day 1. Just be thankful that Osgood played the way he did, and has all season, the Wings wouldn't be in the shape they are in without him.

Yea, that's pretty much the only perk working for a golf store. Free golf stuff year round. Usually it's just balls and hats and stuff. But I'll take a club. Thanks Adams! And now I get to leave work. But not with my club. They are sending it to me.
