It would actually be fantastic if it were true
-
Did you see my post earlier? Told my teammates to book Feds and Hossa coming here and I hope it's true. Like I said put Feds on the point with his rocket on the PP and you are converting more oft than not. Playing the devils advocate and these are my own lines: Homer / Dats / Feds Hossa / Z / Cleary (Brunnström next year) That second line would be the first line next year.

I hear ya. What the hell was he thinking by saying he didn't plan that lol. If Hossa has done that on more than one occasion then it's clearly not an accident. Me too. And I think I am being modest when I say he would be getting 40+ goals in this system. As I have said before, he's been my favorite hockey player for some time, he would terrorize goalies in the Wings' system. Flat out.

I've played hockey for 15+ years and with kids who have played AAA, Juniors, Minors and College. When they want to do breakaways on me some of the s*** they come up with is unreal. Hossa planned that. And there is no way you can predict or anticipate that, his momentum is going so fast in the opposite direction that you have to go in a butterfly to that direction. You really just have to shake your head at them after you watch it go by you.

I especially like this one : I laughed out loud. Did he just do that? *edit* He does it again on this one (01:45 is my fav):
-
*cough* *cough* hence his hat trick *cough* *cough*

Over / Under on the Tigers getting 1150 runs. Sorta want to go over, I think they will be close to 1200
-
Like I said in another thread either are welcomed additions to the team and will help. But people have been complaining about secondary scoring for however long. Hossa is just that. And it's really an insult to Hossa by saying he is secondary scoring.
-
Not a bona fide superstar like Hossa. In a perfect world you lock him up for 4-5 years. It's a lot tougher in the salary cap era to just go find another good player.
-
That doesn't change the fact that the bowed out early. That's all that matters in the end. This is a team game right? And how can you ensure that Hossa will be non-existent on this team? How can you ensure that Sundin will thrive? You can't. You go by talent. And imo Hossa has more. Hossa on the Thrashers and Hossa on the Wings would be two different things and the same goes for Sundin. Sundin historically does well in the playoffs, a point per game pretty much, but he hasn't been there in 4-5 years. There is no way you can deny his hunger and what have you but that does not equate to him being a monster in the playoffs.
-
*edit* Didn't see your other post.
-
The Red Wings have been almost non-existent in the post season the past 4 of 5 years.
-
But he's close, ever since 02 he has been better than a point per game (except this year, but he is only a couple away), early on that's not the case. You are a die hard Tigers fan like myself. Think of it that way. Do you want a 37 year old shortstop or a 29 year old shortstop? I don't mean to sound like Sundin sucks or anything, he can clearly help this team as can Hossa and either are welcomed additions. But you get Hossa locked up long-term and this team is set for a long time to come, I don't think the same can be said for Sundin. P.S. Awesome,
-
And what is your argument for Sundin being a better talent? The way I see it the only thing Sundin has on Hossa is his size. Also, everyone is always bitching about scoring. Hossa is exactly that. No way on God's green earth does Sundin net more than Hossa in this system. Off topic but are you still in the navy (I think it was)?
-
But for a mil or two more you can get Hossa. Who is A LOT younger and a better talent. If you are going to spend big you might as well go for the best player that is in all the rumors.
-
If you are going to compare them that's two different positions and two totally different styles of play. Sorry if I can't see Sundin plowing into a corner and knocking someone on their ass at the age of 39...
-
Hey, if he can inject some of Chelios' blood in him to make him unbreakable that's fine. But it's two different positions. I dunno at 37 if Sundin can keep it up for two more years (at that price).
-
To make it short he can do anything he wants. Well not really, but he's been my favorite player since high school (8ish years) so I'm inclined to say that. He's a big body that is fast as hell and can put the puck wherever he wants to.
-
5 mil for someone that is 37. No thank you.
-
Noooooooooooooo, Hossa. That's not to say Sundin wouldn't be a welcomed addition.
-
They will get Feds too. I told my teammates to book Hossa and Feds coming here a couple days ago. Put Feds back at the point on the PP and he will rack up goals left and right. Obviously we know what Hossa would do, just destroy everything.
-
Hello Red Wings? Viperar explained it but to add on isn't Cleary still up in the air?
-
I'm quite sure Lidstrom is at least 80% machine so I'm sure he will be fine in no time.
-
As I, and a lot of other people have said before, Hossa would be signed long-term as part of the deal. And everyone realizes how many goals Hossa would score in this system right? You are looking at 40+ goals every year for the next 4-5 years or however long the contract would be.
