Just playing devils advocate. If the Wings land Hossa, do you break up the ZDH line on the powerplay and put in Hossa?

It's been said many times that Hossa would be signed long-term as part of the deal. Hossa is having an off-year and only what, 5 or 6 points behind Sundin. And he's only 29. He may not have the bigger physical presence between the two but Hossa at this point has more talent than Sundin.

It doesn't matter if Sundin goes to Anaheim or not, the Wings just need Hossa period. Hell, any team needs Hossa period.

Well since they are in Detroit I reckon they could get some glocks and fire them as a salute.

There is more than skill (Z isn't too far behind those two in terms of a complete player), are Iggy and Lecavalier going to have the same chemistry as Z and Dats? Maybe, but you don't know that. I would do it in NHL 08. Otherwise no, I wouldn't.

I don't see how you swap one of the most dangerous players in the offensive zone that also leads the league in takeaways. I wouldn't get rid of Z either purely based on the chemistry him and Dats have.

I sorta feel that Roman time hockey would be a little more harsh and a few heads would be rolling around. Agree with what he says though.

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that they got Z and Dats so far in the draft. Granted it's only one game but what Howard showed there is no way you get rid of him. Hasek also has had the luxury of not playing during this play like s*** streak, 5 out of the 6 games NO goalie could turn any of those games around. You can go as far as saying you can look up the definition of hanging a goalie out to dry and those 5 games would be in there. But it's clear Osgood has not looked the same since the All-Star break.

While I agree there is nothing to really worry about them, going on a 7 game winless streak 7 years ago and winning the cup has nothing to do with this year. That's like saying I got an A in science and math 7 years ago so I'm bound to get an A this year! No...

No way. Sundin is bolting back to Toronto after the season is over if the Wings get him. They could find money to lock up Hossa, who wouldn't want to play long-term on the Wings? Well, bad question, Sundin wouldn't. Plus Sundin is 37, Hossa is only 29. Hossa is having an OFF-YEAR and he is only 7 pts (53) behind Sundin with 2 less games played. And he is more talented.

I can assure you that Feds would not have coughed up the puck on the blue line with seconds to go in the game today like Sammy did. Put Feds back on the point on the PP and watch him rack up goals. Should probably get Hossa too.

I agree. They actually played an amazing game compared to the last 5. Just couldn't put the puck in the net, Turco played great, hit some posts. Just like golf, some days the ball just doesn't drop in the hole, nothing you can do. Howard played fantastic. That's exactly what he needed to showcase to Babcock and the brass. *edit* I personally think they are losing to get under the radar a little
