He can try to stop that shot

Chicago is the only real threat in the division right now, the Lions have to many winnable games for the Vikes and the Pack to catch up. Detroit is the better team out of the two. As long as the defense sorta steps it up now that Bly is out 3-4 weeks (not sure about Big Baby) and the offense gets going I don't see why they can't win it. I think we're gonna see KJ start having some big games as the offense and o-line will step it up now that they know they have a qb in that can win and make plays. Rivers might be on the top of the list for qb next year unless they decide to go with Orvlosky.
-
Lions=9-7 Once Roy and Charles come back the offense will be good...now that we have a qb that can make plays...
-
Garcia started and it was a welcomed surprise. Despite not having ANY chemistry or timing with any of the recievers out there, although there aren't too many to choose from right now, he's completing passes and MAKING plays happen. His scramble and pass to Mike Williams would have never happened if Joey is in there. And Garcia actually got 7 points up on the board by scrambling it...all in all I'm pretty impressed so far. Despite my disliking for Joey I sorta feel for the guy when I see him on the sidelines, he's a nice guy and always addresses the media despite what the questions are, unfortunately that won't make him into a good qb though...

Awwwwwwwwwww did the Pistons whoop on the overhyped best team in the Eastern Conf. (not really) the Miami Heat? Preseason or not the Pistons owned Shaq and co. last night. Here's the thing about the Pistons this year: They are going to be the deepest team in the NBA in a couple months. EVERYONE has looked good this preseason including *gasp* DARKO!!!! Delfino can drive, hit a mid range jumper, and shoot the 3, Arroyo has been rekindled by Flip, Dice can still hit his turn around j all day, Lindsey is always going to be Lindsey, our rookies look good, and Darko has picked up his play the last few games tremondously (sp?). And as Blue said on both ends of the court, he's grabbing boards and blocking shots. Oh yea, and they have the best starting five in the NBA with a pissed off 15 lb lighter Sheed who wants to atone for his mistake. And if there is anything I learned about Sheed while he has been on this team is that you do not want to be the opposition when he is pissed at you. He will beat you inside, outside, sideways, backwards, anywhere. I think SI and every other sport magazine will be changing their tune half through the season and put Detroit in the ECF which none of them have them in right now. I think Detroit will have to go through the Pacers and not the Heat in the ecf and finally another Spurs Pistons finals becuase they are the best two teams in the NBA, defense and overall. And what does defense win?

And he and his family are the only ones that actually believe that. If he knows he's such a good football player why the hell isn't he making stuff happen out there? *edit* I'd expect for Joey to play the first half and if he doesn't fare well in comes Garcia. I just don't think they would start Garcia outright unless they make the decision pre-game and not make it public.
-
Yea, especially when you consider that the Lions division is like the toughest in the league :/ Their whole division is a joke...
-
Ehhh, even so they wouldn't be any better than mediocre, at least with Joey still at qb. *edit* "Harrington doesn't have to redirect protections as many quarterbacks do. Raiola does it. I hear Raiola has been handling the "check with me" calls. There was an instance in Sunday's game in which the play clock was about to expire and a teammate had to call a timeout." Now that is sad...
-
There's always next year........right......guys.........
-
He has the most receptions on this team........ Yes, it's that pathetic....
-
Saying all his recievers are hurt is just another excuse. The best reciever on the team so far this year, Johnson, and Pollard aren't injured. Those two should be plenty to move an offense down the field and score a td or two. Granted the o-line did suck but Joey has to find a way to get it done and he isn't. The time his happy feet would have actually helped him he sticks in the pocket for most the game. See the Pollard catch? They gotta get rid of the right side of the o-line, I'm pretty sure they were responsible for every sack today. And they gotta get rid of Mooch, and the oc, and Millen, and Harrington...you know what? They should just relocate to a different city and rebuild, maybe that will break the qb curse this city has.
-
Well, it was nice that Harrington had one big play but doesn't do sh*t with it and settles for a field goal. For some odd reason this lose doesn't surprise me.
-
Jesus H Christ get Joey out of there, that pick he just threw was freeeakkiinnnngggggg horrible. Thank goodness for the defense, Blowey throws a horrible INT, and what does our defense do? Gets the ball back for us, another INT for the Lions. Our o-line isn't that bad, they did a very good job against Tampa Bay and Baltimore. The right side didn't show up today is all.
-
Thank goodness for the defense, there might be a few articles written up on them the next few days. As the announcers have been saying the right side of o-line does suck this game but Joey has no feel for the protection. It's either he throws it way to early (when he does have time) or waits to long (when he doesn't have time). Gotta throw Garcia in there asap soley for the reason that he has had success with it and Mooch in the past. He may or may not be better but that doesn't matter... *EDIT* it=WCO
-
Sure, but just remember that this toilet bowl team beat your MSU team I notice your team choked today as well...something that can not be said by Michigan.

Replay in Hockey-yes Replay in Basketball-yes Replay in Football-yes Replay in Baseball-no Should there be?
-
He might as well have. Our running game produced 4 touchdowns. Matt I know which one you are talking about but they butted heads at least 6-7 times, KJ defines beast.
-
Another impressive half for Joey Harrington :/ And for the record don't get mad at Pollard for dropping that pass up the middle. Ray Lewis would have took his fukkin' head off and probably out of the game/season.
-
I might get yelled at for this but I'd like to see how a mobile qb would fit into Detroits system. Figure in the o-line and I don't think it wouldn't be too horrible to have a qb that can bootleg it and scramble. Michael Vick's brother is supposed to be better and from what I've seen he is. He isn't as mobile as his big brother is but he passes the ball MUCH better. Now I'm not saying waste our first two round draft picks to get him, but if he is available in the 3-5th round I say draft him. Rivers is getting super po'ed over in S.D.... I don't think Joey will jump out of the gates in at a new team but he would certaintly do better than here, him and the wco don't go together.

The Spurs do as you stated. The Pistons would have stood no chance to your Ultimate Spurs. That's fine that you think that, I agree with you. The Spurs have the championships to back it up and they still have the same team, something that the Lakers can't say. Yea, and some people are obviously very arrogant. Don't sit there and say we put words in your mouth. You compared the Spurs to the 90 Bulls dynasty, not the coaches, not the line-ups, just the 90 Bulls dynasty, EVERYONE sees that BUT you.
-
No, we aren't, it's how you word your sentences. You state that if Fischer never hits that lucky three the Spurs would have beaten the Pistons and the Pistons would have never won the Championship. That implies that the Pistons were lucky the never played the Spurs. And this is your quote regarding the Spurs and the Bulls--"The Spurs are very similar to the Bulls of the 90s in that they are the best team bar none." There are NO COMMENTS on the line-up and all that crap you said. See, we don't put words into your mouth Sure you have to take advantage of injuries, just like you have to take advantage when a basketball team plays like a bunch of girls in the last game of the NBA Finals *edit* And I only remember Malone being hurt, not Shaq, not Kobe, not the Glove, nobody except him.
-
Best article I've seen in a while
-
They hardly get seperation becuase happy feet Joey rushes out of the pocket every play and throws to his checkdown...He has to give the recievers time to seperate. The o-line may suck but they did a pretty good job last game, Joey just thinks there is pressure there all the time.
-
But you are implying that the Pistons got lucky not playing the Spurs by stating that if Fischer never hits his lucky three the Pistons would have never won. And the Lakers were depleted huh? Two can play that game, the Pistons were depleted last year.
-
"Also Sheed is 15 pounds lighter and really motivated." Uh-ohhhhhhhssssssss. *edit* I didn't realize that the Heat signed Gary Payton as well...that team is full of sooooooooooo many headcases. I'd give them a few months before they start getting at each others throats.
