Joey looked good, yes. But let's wait to pass judgement on him once the REGULAR season starts, I don't think pre-season means shat to nfl veterans. I think pre-season is more for the rookies to get a taste of what the nfl is going to be like. I wouldn't say Garcia sucks, not just after ONE PRE-SEASON game, but you can say his deep ball sucks. When you can say Harrington has a decent deep ball compared to another qb you know something is wrong.

Miami Heat will be tough to beat, no doubt. BUT they will have no defense what to speak of, Jones was their best defender (who guarded Rip the whole time) and now he is out the door. Wade can't guard crap, Shaq can't guard crap, Williams can't guard crap, and Posey is way over-rated. No Garnett, we would have to give up way to much. The Pistons are fine just the way they are. They should have won two championships in the past two years, there is absolutely no need for change. Let everyone ride on the Miami Heat bandwaggon...we'll see who makes it to the Finals with that same stiffling D and a revamped offense.

Been busy... First off I'm not mouthing off at you becuase you have an opinion. I'm mouthing off becuase you put words into my mouth, twist sentences around to make them appear how you want, and assume things. I would give Darko 10 minutes a game, more if they are up big and less if it is a close game. I want the Pistons to win the conference this year so they can have home court, I don't care how much they say they don't need it, it helps down the road. I don't think they can achieve that if Darko is playing 15-20 minutes a game.

According to many a friends that go to Miiiiichigan their football team is going to be ridicously good, whether or not that holds true I don't know, thats just what my buddies say. I just can't wait for College Football, the NFL, and the NHL to get started up, I like College Football over all of them though.

"I never said that he should get more minutes that Delfino or Arroyo," that is implying (or assuming) that I stated that you said that he should get more minutes than those two OR that you just stated that he should, grow some more brain cells before you start running your fukkin mouth again ok? No argument on the 7-11 19 points and all that crap against the worst team in the league? Yea, thats what I thought...He's still a 2 years away, I can feel comfortable with Darko getting 20 minutes a game AFTER he gets a season of 10 minutes a game with a new coach that spends time with him. If anyone has ESPN Insider head on over to ESPN, usually the Pistons message board has them posted but can't find it- •Ford: Darko among biggest summer duds-- "First, a caveat: When judging players, take summer league performances with a grain of salt. Success in the summer leagues isn't a very accurate predictor of who will become an NBA star. While in previous summers LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Al Jefferson and Marquis Daniels gave us early signs that they were ready to have breakout years, players such as Qyntel Woods, Willie Green, John Salmons and Zarko Cabarkapa have also dominated in these leagues. A more accurate predictor is summer league failure. Nine times out of 10, it seems, if a player can't produce against the watered-down competition in the summer leagues, he'll struggle mightily to get it done against real NBA players during the season. But even that is only a short-term prediction, not a long-term one. "

You are using one game against the worst team in the NBA as a example for a good game, the Hawks were 13-69 last season. He started against a slightly better Charlotte Bobcat team that was 18-64 and went 2-8 and 3 boards. He played 8 minutes in that Miami game, got 2 points and 2 boards, and he did not impact that game other than drawing an offensive foul against Shaq. When I'm talking about impacting a game I'm talking about turning it around, Darko did not and will not do that for quite some time. I never said that you said that he should get more minutes than Delfino or Arroyo, you just like to assume things. I'm not quite sure that Darko would be a good #4 spot (PF), I always thought Darko was a Center (#5)...

No, if you read what I said correctly instead of twisting my words to see what you want to see, you would have seen that I said if Flip does improve the offense without sacrificing defense they would be untouchable. 20 minutes is a lot of time, thats almost two quarters, and would you want Darko in for that long? I know I wouldn't, I've never given up on him nor will I, he is only 19-20 years old and has time to improve. He's going to start getting garbage minutes, would you really want to throw in Darko in a close game? He may start off getting no minutes at all in the beginning, which is right becuase they have to break in Flip, but as the season progresses he may get 5 minutes, then 10, and then 15 tops. No way should he be getting more minutes then Delfino, Dice, and Arroyo...they can have an impact in the game...Darko still looks like a lost puppy out there just running around trying to pick people.
-
Darko ain't gonna be getting 20 minutes a game, I don't think the Pistons want to play for the last playoff spot. Darko will be getting all the garbage minutes in the early parts of the season and towards the middle get more. At this point I think Maxiell and Acker will be seeing more minutes than Darko assuming they are on the roster. I can't wait for next season, hopefully Delfino will come back and stay injury free and produce some solid numbers, if he keeps improving we may have a solid 2 back-up in him that is a threat on the court. Flip is a very good coach and finally has a TEAM and not one player and I think he can take the Pistons to the finals again, although if you ask me I don't think it would matter who would be coaching them, the Pistons could just will their way to the finals for all they know. "If Saunders' thick playbook spruces up the offense as Pistons insiders expect, without any discernible drop-off on defense, they might end up being even more dangerous than they were." In other words they would be untouchable? If Darko pans out, Maxiell, Johnson, Delfino and Acker improve and Joe D picks up a good player to bring off the bench here and there I don't see why the Pistons can't make it to the Finals and win for the next 5-7 years.

It's about time someone recognized......Detroit what....... His whole article was true including "The Pistons won a championship last year, and should've repeated this year." But they decided to play like jack-asses the last game, nah, they felt bad for Timmy and wanted to let him win so he could regain his superstar status back.
-
"Larry Loyalists wonder how the Pistons would ever survive without his influence from the bench. He's still an X-and-O ace, but the Pistons also need a coach who makes it a goal to make an NBA player out of Milicic. The Pistons are already younger than the Spurs. Imagine their depth if Carlos, Carlos and Darko reach their potential." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2005...marc&id=2094534

Hate to disappoint ya but that will not happen....

The Spurs shot 45.5% from the field comparted to Detroits 37.5%. 45.5% from the field is not shooting poorly...37.5% is however poor....

Detroit couldn't hit the broadside of a barn last night and S.A. was hitting everything, thats the only real difference I saw. They were both making all the hustle plays and what not just that Detroit shot like s**t and S.A. was hitting everything. The ONLY reason why Duncan got MVP is becuase they won game 7 and everyone was questioning his "skills" or whatever. Chauncey, although he didn't play well in game 7, kept the Pistons in this series and he should have got it. As I said earlier I do not mind losing to S.A. at all although the bitter taste of defeat does suck. I'm still happy with how the Pistons came back from a 2-0 deficit and force a game 7 which they stood no chance at doing. Word of warning: Once Delfino gets a season under his belt Detroit may make it hard for the '05 Champs to repeat and they just may reclaim it back. That kid is going to do wonders scoring and assist wise for the Pistons. Tayshaun should get better and hopefully he will show up for the whole playoffs next year.

Interesting, the Sportsnation poll has 70% of the people counting on the Pistons to win...

Home court advantage does not matter right now, not with the Pistons. They just can't let the refs get to them like they did yesterday ALTHOUGH they had the right to, it was reaalllllll bad. They can block the fans out I believe just the refs they have to worry about. Pistons are gonna win tomorrow, they've come to far to lose game 7 now. The refs are gonna be stacked against our 'Stones but they are gonna overcome it and maybe win by double digits (I'm not betting on it though, just going on gut feeling). Chauncey is gonna remind the whole world why he was MVP of last years playoffs and why he should be the MVP this year for the second time in a row since Mr. Duncan himself. Tayshaun is going to remind us why he was the regular season MVP. Rip is gonna remind us why he has the best jumper in the game and why he is the hardest working man in the NBA, next stop....Rip city. Sheed is gonna remind us that he can not only post up but drain those threes all day and why he is the best and defending Duncan. Ben is gonna remind us why he is the DPOY and lastly Detroit is going to remind everyone why they are the best TEAM in the whole world, the team that has the most heart and testicular fortitude, and show that no matter how bad the adversity gets they respond and have an answer. And when the Pistons win tomorrow JohnO is not allowed to post and say anything about the Pistons ever again on this board....sorry brother.....but your s**t is inexcusable.... *EDIT* It is very important to note that Sheed got 16 points and at least 2 in every other stat in twenty-four (24) minutes of play. He is going to be a BEAST tomorrow.
-
Also it was good to see Tayshaun actually start to do something as well, I was getting pretty sick of him just sitting there the whole game. Post him up next game, get Sheed hitting 3's, Chauncey drivin' and Rip jumpin'...

I win. "The game last night was a good battle but should have never went to overtime if Duncan could hit a free throw." I can just counter with if Detroit would have played better it would not have gone into overtime, that first half was pretty sad for Detroit but the second was a little better. At the end of the first half nearly everyone said that S.A. played a perfect half yet they where still tied to a Detroit team that was turning the ball over, getting pounded on the boards, and just not playing good. And if Chauncey hits all his free throws it wouldn't have went into overtime, he missed a few. Detroit had a 4 point lead in overtime and blew it, didn't take care of the ball, took stupid shots, etc so they shoulda won that game. We can sit here and say coulda, woulda, and shouldas all day long but it really doesn't matter, S.A. won and that is the bottom line. Does f'n Manu ever miss when he drives to the lane? I mean....damn...he drives and it's like an automatic bucket. If the Pistons foul him when he does that next game they better foul him hard, knock him on his ass, if you are gonna foul him get your fouls worth. I really think they are gonna have to beat up the Spurs physically to win game 6. I know the Pistons like it when their back is against the wall but they can't be happy going into S.A. down 3-2. The Pistons can do it, they are good enough, but it will be very, very tough. *EDIT* In regards to Horry, he beats you in the fourth quarter, he just goes off. The first three quarters are almost non-existent and then the fourth rolls along and boom he comes out of nowhere. The Pistons have to be smarter with him next time, when you don't want to give up a three you do not leave Horry all alone...
-
Any bets Rampage and Gowingsgo will be back now? *EDIT* I don't think Detroit is going to win two in a row at S.A. To stand a chance they are going to have to play their best game ever in game 6 and then play even better in game 7...
-
HI DERE MY NAME IS SAN ANTONIO AND I AM SCARED s***LESS Serisouly though, where is Rampage now? Gowings go should be here posting if he appreciates a good game of basketball, or is he so embarassed after kissing S.A.s ass that he doesn't want to show up? I'm not trying to talk smack or say that the Pistons are gonna beat the s**t out of them next game (which they most likely will though) I'm just wondering why they can dish it out but they can't take it....
-
If I wasn't leasing the truck I would....I don't think Ford would be too happy with me if it came up tails :/
-
For the record, Manu said himself that he was not injured...
-
Yea, but you can also look at no team has ever come back from a 2-0 deficit to win it all in the finals. I think that the Stones will have to win all three to have a real good shot at repeating. It would be damn tough for them to win two in a row in S.A.
-
You guys know for a fact that gowingsgo and Rampage will just come on and say we are crying and making excuses for the article above. That article is interesting though...very interesting when you add in "dude, even the spurs own ice man george gervin said on national tv that the pistons just aren't getting the calls...," courtesy of JohnO.

Any bets LB will not be back next season?
-
"but the refs don't really matter when you aren't hitting any shots."--Dallas27 Did you ever see me making excuses for the Pistons getting beat so badly? I said numerous times that the Pistons aren't hitting any shots, so if thats an excuse well I guess I am making excuses. I said that the refs were making some bad calls but I never said that they lost the game(s) because of them. And for the person that was saying something about game 1 and 2 being reffed differently...well they use three different refs each game so that would be the reason. And when did I ever call you out? I never did you just seem to have some personal vendetaa against me. You were the one that started all this crap, even in the other thread, by stating all you see is crap coming out of my mouth. I don't lack game knowledge, fly to Michigan and talk to me in person. I don't have time to sit here and spend 1 hour writing a 5 page summary of every game, I am a scratch golfer, have more important things to worry about And maybe you say that becuase you just like to take a part of my post that you don't like and say something about it and disregard the rest. For example: You totaly ignored my ideas on Sheed and just went straight to the obvious "games aren't won in the first quarter," come on dude, you don't think I know that? I've been playing sports for 17 years, including winning States in Hockey, are games won in the first period?
