Wow, way to go out on a limb, lmfao. I think we will have our hands full trying to win the central this year, which, to me, doesn't really matter if we are 1st in the West or 4th. I don't see us making much noise in the PO's this year. Not because of who we lost or who we signed, but because of the last 2 years long runs. Our guys are spent, imo. We almost need a 1st round exit to rest up and make a push in what I believe will be Lidstroms final year in the '10-'11 season. Not to mention the Olympics this year adding more wear and tear to our top players. I just hope we either win the Cup or get knocked out early so we can come back strong the following year.

I like the top 2 lines you got there, but I'd like to see Eaves Helm Leino on a line, that would be an awesome 3rd/4th line right there, imo. Malty Drapes Cleary not bad either, although I'd rather have Justin Abel ( can't spell it) kater in place of maltby on most nights.

I admit I know little to nothing about this guy but I hear people saying $500,000 is a steal. Just wondering, what is his market value? I mean, if he wasn't bought out, what do you guys think he could max out at with his potential?

True, I hope you are right, I'd love for the Hawks to be stuck with him and lose some of their depth at forward, I just have a feeling they are going to luck out and dump him on somebody. Here's to hoping for the worst for them though, lol.

Oh, I agree he's not worth it, not even close. BUT, there is at least one GM out there that will be dumb or desperate enough to take on his contract. Maybe a team that needs to spend some cash to to reach the cap minimum.

Sour grapes? Chicago has a bad ass team and I think they are doing everything possible to get a Cup in Chi_town. If I were a Hawks fan, I'd be really happy with the way things are going after years of being s***ty or mediocre. They aren't in that bad of cap hell like everyone makes it to be. I think they'll be able to move Campbell and that will help them out alot. If there is someone out there willing to take Gomez's contract, anything is possible. Teams are always looking for D men like him.

Why would you have anything to worry about? We've met twice in the Finals and are 1-1. You should have as much ammo as they do, even more since when we beat them it was total domination.

Damn, I'm so jealous the Hawks got Big Hoss. They are going to be bad ass this year. Then again, they lost Havlat, and while Hossa is better, it kind of evens itself out. Havlat, when healthy, may even be a better playoff performer. Either way, the Hawks are going to be like the Sharks were last season, but I think they will do better in the post season. I like their chances of making it all the way to the SCF's.

Damn, that's harsh. I think the Ducks are one of our biggest rivals. I love to hate them. We've met so many time in the PO's lately I'd say a healthy rivalry has grown out of them. It doesn't get much better than a 7 game hard fought series like we had with the Ducks this year. And they knocked us out in 6 a few years back, they are probably, for me at least, our biggest rivals at the moment. Can't wait to kick their asses this year, lol.

I would say Canada has the best chance of winning but I will be pulling for the US and then Sweden and then Russia. I won't say I hate Canadians, but I strongly dislike them lil bastards. Blame Canada!!

Man, that really sucks! I'm going to have to go to the game in Atlanta on November 25th. I'm in Ocala, so Atlanta is about 5 1/2 hours from me. We usually go to the games in Tampa and Sunrise (Miami) so the trip to Atlanta won't be too bad, it's only about an hour longer drive to Atlanta than to drive to Sunrise. Plus, I've never been to the Atlanta arena, so that will be nice to go to a new arena. Although, the Panthers arena is my favorite arena I've ever been to, it is soooo nice. The crowd isn't all that great, but the arena is bad ass. Anyone ever been to the arena in Atlanta? What's it like? I have family in Nashville so I'll probably make it to one of the two Saturday night games the Wings play there. They play Saturday night games in Nashville at 8 on Dec 12 and on March 27. Edit: Well, Poo! I just noticed on that schedule it says we play in Detroit against Atlanta but on another schedule I was looking at earlier today it had us in Atlanta. Huh, wonder which one is right? Damn, that sucks@!!

lol, goofball. The only downside to waiting till the trade deadline is we'd have to give up draft picks to get someone. If we sign someone now, it won't cost anything but cap space. I know there isn't alot out there to choose from, but I trust KH to get a couple role guys that will give us a good chance at another run at the Cup. Like someone said earier, look what the Pens lost last year and it turned out good for them in the end. I'm really excited about the upcoming season and I like our chances alot.

I think the Pens are going to win 2 or 3 more cups in the next 5 to 6 years. They are young and have a great team. It doesn't hurt that they play in the weak east, although they do have to play against Prongz a few times a year. BTW, great signing.

I think we should take a look at the black dude that used to play for the Sharkies, can't remember his name, I think he was from Motown. If not him then I'd go for Peca then Big Bert. I can't believe those are our best options imo, thats some slim pickenz. I still like our team alot going into next year. We may score less goals, but I think we are going to get back to a tighter checking defensive game like 08 and be better prepared for playoff hockey.

Where's the luv for J Dubb? Not here fo sho, just say no to that signing. One of my least favorite players that have ever played for the Wings.

Good luck in Van Sam. You will be missed. He played very good in the PO's imo. I really like our team going into next year, although with these long PO runs we've had the last couple of years, I think we almost need an early exit next year to rest up for a '11 cup run.
