I'm glad the League, Versus and NBC are spreading the wealth with other teams and not showing the Red Wings all the time.

Please, no third jersey for the Wings. I'm disappointed they wore the Winter Classic jersey yesterday too.

Oh and another thing. IIRC the Lidstrom interview was the same night ESPN was amazing (sic) enough to mention Gordie Howe's birthday. Isn't that awesome!? Two hockey and Red Wings mentions. Yet they failed to break down any game that was happening that night like they did for nearly all the basketball games. The MMN's (Mickey Mouse Networks) were too busy covering Plaxico Buress' trial and other thing like that which I can't remember right now. Yeah ESPN would be totally awesome and cover more hockey if the NHL went back to it. NOT!

Color me surprised. Rome is worth viewing sometimes, but nothing else on ESPN is. I only caught it because I was at a sports bar. Normally that Mickey Mouse network is not worth watching. A different night, same sports bar, same Disney networks, usually I get them to change one of the TVs to the NHL Network, but for some reason I didn't. Anyway, there had been six games and the four-letter only showed one game's highlights. ONE. That's not a network where I want the NHL. It's been more than a year since I started my Mike & Mike boycott, and I'm better for it. I can't remember the last time I logged onto the ESPN.com, and I'm better for it. Except for that Mickey Mouse network's ubiquitousness I wouldn't bother with it at all either, and I'm better for it.

I wouldn't go CaptainCaveMan. The Joe is so run down it's not worth attending a game there. Show your disapproval to the Illitch's and the Red Wings organization by not attending a game. Then maybe they will get another arena built.

Eklund is wrong and so are you. About a month ago I had the unfortunate experience of viewing ESPN's SportsCenter for 45 minutes. Not one NHL highlight. NOT ONE! The night before seven games were played and not one highlight the next day. People who think ESPN is objective are delusional. People who think that things would change if the League went back to the four-letter network are delusional. It won't happen because the Disney networks don't want the NHL. They had a chance to get the League back immediately following the lockout, but didn't. Nothing I've seen has changed. Today I watched SportsCenter, and there was only one highlight. Three games yesterday, and only one highlight today. The other day Steve Levy said this, "Only in the NHL is Detroit in the West." Were there any snide comments made toward ANY other sport? Not that I heard. Another day, or maybe the same one, ESPN showed David Letterman's Top Ten List featuring baseball players at the World Baseball Classic. Number 1: "What else are you going to watch? Hockey?" ESPN is bad for the NHL any way you slice it.

Don't like it, stop watching.

The game is better now than when I started watching, which was in 1995.

The worst is Atlanta's IMO. The lack of symmetry, the baby blue color, the trim colors. The best of the three is the Ducks' new one. Actually it looks sharp even though they don't have a logo. Buffalos is only bad b/c the number on front IMO. The logo could be much better. All in all Atlanta's takes the cake.

I'm dubious too. Another company made something similar but I can't find it right now.

OMFG the players should go on strike! This CBA is horrible for them I can't believe they signed it in the first place. Where is Goodenow now when the players need him?!

I did post some love for the Wings' domination in last night's game. I just didn't do it here.

I watched the game tonight with critical eye. Versus coverage didn't bother me at all.

I posted the below comment in another thread, but it's apropos here too. There seems to be a lot of complaining about the game and about a lot of little things surrounding the game. Tweaks can be made to improve the NHL-game, but this is a great time to be an NHL fan in my opinion. Overall things are better now than they were when I first started watching.

They don't bother me, but then again I've never been a fan of all-star jerseys anyway.

I haven't found Versus' camera work any worse or any better than other networks that cover hockey. I post that having watched the Wings - Oilers game last night on the Canadian feed.

The 2008 Detroit Red Wings were boring hockey? Gimme a break!

OMG Lidstrom is panicking! This does not bode well for the Wings. I mean it's only November! He should just relax and let things work out their own. He shouldn't be so critical. Compared to the Leafs, Thrashers and Stars the Wings' defense is exceptional.
