I don't see much wrong with that article. Frei wrote a good article before the playoffs predicting the Wings would win it all.

Levy was good and so were Thorne and Clement. I don't want the NHL back on ESPN though. The League went with a new network. One that caters more to the League's liking. Versus, then OLN, offered more money than ESPN, if it even did. I can't remember now and would have to do some research. Research I've done numerous times, each time I read fans advocating the League go back to ESPN. By the way, three ESPN employees, Colin Cowherd, Mike Greenberg and president George Bodenheimer, routinely ridicule the NHL. Many more of its employees do too. This obviously starts from the top and continues all the way down. The company's employees make it a very harsh environment for the NHL. Given that, it doesn't make sense to me why the League would want ESPN to broadcast it's games. Sure ESPN is in more homes, but that isn't good enough. It has to be willing to show games and showcase the League in other ways, which it didn't. A classic example of this but in another sport is the IRL on ESPN. That should be a symbiotic relationship, but I bet it isn't in IRL's view. I know it isn't to IRL fan and writer Robin Miller. I heard him the other day with JMV on WNDE that during a recent SportsCenter the talking heads spent all of 44 seconds mentioning Graham Rahal's win. The talking heads then went back to NFL coverage. IRL is in season now, the NFL is not. This is a classic example and there are many others of how ESPN treats leagues it doesn't like or favor. This is the same way the ESPN treats the NHL now and when it broadcasted NHL games. Add to all this ESPN would rather showcase its own talking heads and make them celebrities, than cover sports in a meaningful way, there is absolutely NO reason for the NHL to go back to ESPN.

Hearing the commentary from NBC it does seem slanted in Nashville's favor. I bet if we asked Predators fans though, they'd say it seems slanted in Detroit's favor. Very rarely can national-based talking heads win.

Congrats to D-Mac. I was looking at the Freeps classic D-Mac photo. I got cold chill seeing the iconic McCarty - turtle Lemieux photo. Cold chills from a photo! Amazing. Only hockey can do something like that.

I don't care what anybody says, I love Doc Emerick. He does a great job in my opinion.

There you go. That's the reason right there. The comparisions are lame. If I have to make them, I prefer to think of the Yankees as the Red Wings of the MLB, and the Patriots as the Red Wings of the NFL. Which current organization has been at the consistently good level longest? The Wings. Which sport is the best? Hockey. So it all stems from hockey and the Wings as far as I'm concerned.

Modano and Jon Heder made me LOL. He will forever be Napoleon to me now. I still think Zetterberg looks more like Jim Carrey then blue-eyed Jared Leto, who in my opinion looks like he could be Courteney Cox's brother. Also Daniel Briere looks just like a young Paul McCartney. They even have the same teeth.

Many players are great athletes. That doesn't necessarily make them un-selfish or admirable.

I don't like the added logos for the playoffs. Leave the game and the ice the f*** alone! Want to make a halfway decent ******* change. Decrease the goddamn goalie gear!! Everything else leave alone!!!! I'm sick and ******* tired of all the ******* changes!!!!

Since 97.1 broadcasts games it usually has stuff around game time. I've logged in before and they were still chatting about something AFTER the game started. http://fans.nhl.com/members/auxlepli/blogs/4024 They do have post-game shows. That's about it though. I've listened in the morning and it's blah blah blah, laugh, laugh, laugh. They usually talk about transgendered people or the latest reality show craze. Nothing about sports and certainly nothing about hockey, nor the Wings.

They both look good to me. So far I'm not having any trouble with the videos on NHL.tv either.

O'Halloran is on my list. It's not the good list either.

It should be required reading for every hockey fan. I too agree with Bowman about Howe. I don't know if I was surprised Bowman responded that way, but it was good to read that.

That is one of the best Q & A's ever! Very informative. It was interesting to me to find out Bowman and Brooks had the same type of game plan, namely puck possession and flow.

I think my computer re-sized it automatically, because I saved mine as the Desktop Picture from the first one posted, the large one, and it looks fine. I love my Mac!

Pretty cool. I use it as my Guest wallpaper. What would be cooler is if the the logo was bigger. Or if you used a hot color or cool color. I can't remember the precise lingo, but it's like in Sin City where everything is black and white, but the color red. Something like that. Like make the logo red and white or the lettering red. So bigger logo and a hot color would by two cents.

Have any of you seen the Sports Science show on Fox Sports Net. Man, that show is awesome. Anyway the other day they had on a rugby player and an American football player hit another rugby player and a hitting dummy repespectively. The show determined the American football player hit harder than the rugby player. However a rugby player hits more during a game than an American football player. So in the end it worked out to be about equal between the two.

Darth Kader is my fave, but you all have some funny ones in here.

Nash and Crosby .... all we need now is a Stills or a Young.

Yesterday I filled out a survey sent to me from Holiday Inn Express because I stayed there a week or two ago. Anyway at the end they asked what could have made my stay there better. I responded I would have been a lot smarter had I been able to see the hockey games on Versus.

AI on that list is a joke. This is a guy who doesn't even show up to practice. Practice!
-
The Predators can, but I don't think they will.
-
I agree. The Wings took some stupid penalties last night too.

Glavine is no more credible than Melrose. Whatever he says isn't worth the salt on my table. There might be more Braves fans, but Thrasher fans are more passionate.

I hope it's the 10th. I have a hot date on the 11th. And by hot, I mean sitting out in the sun watching a baseball game.
