You should change your name to Lady in Pink then.

I just wish Versus would show more games instead of limiting games to Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nice article. Too bad he brought up the WCF again, aka a nail for my heart. Also he's getting ahead of himself. Who's to say these two teams will be conference champions? Anyway this game should be on national TV, but Versus only shows games on Mondays and Tuesdays. It should also be receiving the kind of press and coverage the November Colts - Patriots game got. SI mentioned it as a pick of the week, but the previous SI also mentioned the Winter Classic, but yet no post-game coverage appears in this week's issue. Anyway that's my rant. GO WINGS!

Ten goals is amazing for one game. I was glad to see the Wings, once again, out shoot the Wild. They also battled back a couple of times, so that was good to see too.

I get what you all are saying, but Zetterberg and Ovechkin are pretty close in my opinion, an argument could be made if Zetterberg wanted that kind of money. Since he said he'd take a Hockeytown discount I guess it doesn't matter. Zetterberg's stats on top, Ovechkin's below.
-
Seems to me the Wings will need to pay Zetterberg that much or maybe even a bit more for him to stay in Detroit.
-
I'd rather own the Wild than the Predators too.

That article was mentioned on Mirtle's blog, which is definitely one I'd recommend subscribing to. Like I posted there, the Leafs name was probably not inspired by the maple leafs on the flag. It was probably the other way around. The Canadian flag when that organization became the Leafs had three maple leafs on it, and in my opinion they weren't prominent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Canadia...Ensign_1921.svg

More and more references seem to be popping up lately. There was a thread about two different TV shows mentioning hockey in the Water Cooler forum.

OMFG! Really Mitch Albom? Maybe if he wrote about hockey more he'd know these things. I'm surprised he took time to write one about it. Somebody criticized Albom using that technique where he repeats a sentance or phrase ever other paragraph, and now I'm inclined to agree with that person. Albom over uses it. It's a cheep and lazy way to write. To say Chris Chelios is still skating is a blinding fact of the obvious. Is there still room on Albom-hating bandwagon? I'm ready to climb aboard. Damn! I went back to try to push through reading it, previously I had only gotten to the second still skating, and noticed I missed the editors note. Now I don't even feel it's worth it. I mean if the Free Press can't get its writers to write something new to read, even though I missed this article last season, is it even worth me reading? To hell with the Freep too for regurgitating this article.

I pretty much agree with Helene St. James

Congrats to Chelios. I remember the trade, but never took the time to think it's been eight years. Time flies.

It was great to see Holmstrom out there again, and once again the Wings out shoot their opponent. I thought the Versus coverage was fine. It sounded and looked really good. I can't speak for or against the announcers though.

Wings win! Dom gets another shut-out.

This game is a lot closer than I'd like it to be.

Time for a shorty!

I love hockey. What a great sport. Hearing the skates scrape along the ice, the puck hitting the stick, the horn when a player scores - what a great game. Go Wings!
-
The Nashville organization admits mistake. Check out Bad plan toward the bottom of the page. Probably a good idea since the Predators couldn't meet the League minimum to receive the better welfare money.
-
Well that was disappointing and anti-climatic.

Speaking of 16-0's, I'd rather see the Wings go 16-0 in the post-season than any regular season record. A double octopoid post-season!
-
Anybody have an extra ticket or tickets, two, for the Anaheim game?
-
The Wings should do whatever it takes to win the Cup. If it means alternating goalies in the playoffs then they should do it. Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried. I'm of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" opinion. Alternating goalies has worked in the regular season. So do it in the post season.
-
That's what I was thinking. If the Wings win the Cup it'll mean more than beating whatever regular-season record a team may hold.

How are captains in all-star games determined?
