I agree it makes plenty of sense to me. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Am...o&type=lgns

WOW. This is the first month I've tried one of these and boy does it look great here on my work computer. Thanks Matt.

It reminds me of the hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil monkeys.

Shots per period is a telling stat. 7-15 Wings 12-8 Coyotes 7-16 Wings

Just looked again, and still no luck. I can't believe I can't find a podcast to this. You'd think the NHL would let fans subscribe to this since it's supposed to be a regular feature. That other link is nice but it's like 58 MB. I guess that's not too bad considering it's about an hour long.

I freakin LOVE Cleary!!

I just tried and my computer doesn't connect to that site. All the streaming stuff is blocked.

Yeah this is kinda ridiculous that the Wings can't put away teams that played the night before. Unfortunately I'm at my work tonight so I can't listen nor see the game. I can only watch the game summary change or the real time scoreboard. If I didn't know any better I'd think Babcock changed his mind and started Hasek instead of Osgood.

It's available on DVD. I have it, and you're right it is awesome. http://video.barnesandnoble.com/search/pro...EAN=26359187520

I find it funny that Burke voted against. He represents the only team from the West to do so. He can say all he wants about fan support for the current schedule, but like Bettman's rhetoric, I'm not buying it.
-
Yes. It's a great goal IMO. While others have criticized it, I've seen many miss those type of goals and from that close too.

I loved this line. And the info about attendance throughout the League. Hey Gary what was that about the third straight year of record attendance?
-
Well Frei might not be right with his comparison of Slap Shot to Rocky. It's on par, I don't know about better. Slap Shot is definitely better than Million Dollar Baby. That movie was overrated! As far as that list. I don't know if Jerry Maguire should be categorized as a sports movie. My sister and I are in agreement. It's a chick flick, not that's there's anything wrong with that.

Exactly! Well said haroldsnepsts. Also it's not as good it could be either IMO. Teams should have every other team in their house at least once. Ross McKeon had a good article about it the other day. While I hate the NHL copying the NBA, and I don't necessarily agree with him about his idea for a changing the schedule. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=rm-n...o&type=lgns Yesterday he got in good comment. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AkAi...o&type=lgns And today's mailbag. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AghS...o&type=lgns

Osgood in net for Phoenix; Hasek in net for Montreal
auxlepli replied to 96warrior's topic in General
I'm skeptical of Hasek coming back against Montreal. Babcock is right though, it will be a tough test for Hasek, especially if or when the Canadiens go on the PP. They are at a 27.4% rate, the best in the League right now. -
Miracle and Bull Durham are probably my top two. It's hard to deny Miracle IMO. The 1980 Olympic hockey team is the reason why I'm a hockey fan, and that movie is so well done. Bull Durham is hilarious and what guy wouldn't want to date Susan Sarandon's Annie Savoy. I need to watch Slap Shot again. It's good and all, but it doesn't stand out in my mind.

That was a good read. I almost posted it too but was afraid of the ridicule for posting another ESPN article. Lately Buccigross has even been getting on my nerves too, but I enjoyed reading that. In addition to the game coverage, I liked these two paragraphs too.

Kopecky's goal was a thing of beauty! Awesome goal.

It's a step back in the right direction, and I'm glad for the change. Still I think the schedule could be better. When teams play like three games in a row against the same team, that's boring and tedious. It works in baseball, and the playoffs, but not in hockey during the regular season. Spread the match-ups around and the schedule won't appear to be so bad.

I like the Wings' proposed schedule better than this pre-lockout schedule. However I like my idea even better. 2 other conference = 30 5 intra division = 20 3 intra conference, non division = 30 2 rivalry games = 2 Total = 82

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0485/1128/rss16 In hockey I'm surprised it's lasted 185 games. Is this a new curse? The other night there was a feature story about his streak. Now it ends. It could be similar to the Sports Illustrated and EA Sports curse.

Oh really? If Lightning don't strike a deal, team may bolt

The ACC owns the Big Ten in their showdown. Maybe this year will be different. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Ten#Men.27s_basketball I know IU beat Georgia Tech the other night, but I didn't catch the other scores. My focus if the Wings and hockey in the winter.
-
Two weeks isn't that bad IMO either. It's still early in the season, and the Wings could let him sit longer, to be sure, if need be.

So far all the responses on The Hockey News article disagree with Bettman and think NHL players should play in 2014. In the corresponding poll, 71 percent say NHL players should participate. http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/1144...4-Olympics.html
