It's like deja vu all over again. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46539

Damien Cox makes predictions about O6 teams making the playoffs this year. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=3127532 Given the recent track record of the teams, I'd be surprised if three make it. I think there might be an error in the article. I think it might be during World War II not after.

Burke wants GM's to be able to accumulate dead money
auxlepli replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Agreed. Burke is an idiot. I can't believe he has 25 other GMs in his corner. -
This is what got me about the game, Babcock said the Wings weren't ready to play. Why not? They're professionals. They had a day off where the Jackets didn't. The Wings' performance was unacceptable, even Babcock said it. http://redwingscorner.blogspot.com/2007/11...otout-loss.html "There is such a fine line in this league now, if you're not going to have your whole team show up, you're not going to win," said Babcock. "It was the first time in a long, long time that we didn't have enough people ready to play and ready to compete. That's unacceptable and that's un-Red Wing like."

Just one game? Holiday hangover? The Wings have not played decent hockey since when they were on the nine-game win streak.
-
OIC. Good points, that I didn't think about.
-
I doubt I'll ever buy a new sweater. Too expensive and I don't like cut.
-
I expected a win, so anything else sucks. A loss sucks. A regulation tie sucks. An OT loss sucks. An OT win sucks. A SO loss sucks, and a SO win sucks. Majorly disappointed.
-
Well this game officially sucks so far. The Jackets played in Minnesota yesterday. I thought it would be easier for the Wings to get the jump, but it's been the opposite so far. Two goals on five shots. Maybe the Wings need to find a better goalie than Osgood and Hasek.
-
Yes, it is good and bad. I explained why this is in another thread, but now I forgot my reasoning, and I don't feel like searching for that post now either. Now I remember. It's good becuase it might prepare the Wings for the playoffs. It's bad because it might wear on them.

I only have three. Yzerman twice - one authentic, the other the replica from the 19 retirement ceremony. Lidstrom - last year's replica.
-
Steve Yzerman selected as best number 19. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hnic/bythe.../number_19.html Here's the list for No. 19: 1. Steve Yzerman, Detroit Red Wings 2. Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche 3. Larry Robinson, Montreal Canadiens 4. Bryan Trottier, New York Islanders 5. Jean Ratelle, New York Rangers 6. Rick MacLeish, Philadelphia Flyers 7. Butch Goring, Los Angeles Kings 8. Paul Henderson, Toronto Maple Leafs 9. Joe Thornton, San Jose Sharks 10. Brad Richards, Tampa Bay Lightning

Those aren't Big Ten schools in ice hockey though. I'm glad the network is showing their games. I just wonder legally how the network is able to do so.
-
This isn't a good stat. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../711230420/1053 The Wings are playing better than last year but not against Central Division foes. It's a shame the schedule didn't change this year.

Well I was disappointed I couldn't get WXYT on iTunes until after the game, but it was working on NHL.com. Again the Wings couldn't keep the lead so that sucks too. Then again the Wings played last night and the Predators didn't. Then again the Wings should not use that as an excuse.
-
Yes. OIC. That's a nice one too. They should post temperature ratings like they do for sleeping bags.
-
I'm thinking about getting that reversible one on NHL.com. It's pretty reasonably priced. Is that the one you're posting about?
-
Well at least he knew he was on the Wings instead of the Blues.
-
Good for Ozzie to get the shutout. He now has third most of active players behind Broduer and Hasek.
-
Two four-minute penalties and the Wings didn't score. I posted it last game, and I'll post it again - Wings' special teams need work.
-
Agreed. It doesn't make any sense to me.
-
I'd like to see the Wings play the Wild up in Minnesota. I've heard great things about that arena.
-
At this rate they'll need to go to triple digits soon. Bob Gainey's will be retired in February, and Roy's isn't even on the list. Though the way he left might preclude 33 hanging from the rafters, but he is in the Canadiens Hall of Fame. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Cana...Retired_numbers Robinson's retired http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=223228&hubname=

That's great to hear. When he had to leave his playing days behind he was so, so sad. It's good he's changed his outlook.
