I've always liked Avery and was sad to see him go when the Wings traded him.

IMO Hudler needs to step up his game so it forces Babcock to use Hudler on a top line. Obviously Hudler is a gifted scorer otherwise he wouldn't be used in shootouts. He needs to showcase that ability more during games.
-
IIRC most writers and reporters said the Wings would fall. One of these days the talking heads might be right, but I hope it's not in my lifetime.

Too bad Calgary didn't get a shut out last night.
-
Good. I'm glad the Ducks lost another one. I'm still bitter about last year's playoffs.

There are gadgets for Vista. Google them and I'm sure they'll have links. Don't know for sure if there's a hockey one.
-
Three, technically four, U.S. cities mad for hockey IMO are Detroit, Buffalo, and Minneapolis - St. Paul. Philadelphia was just a throw-in to round out the choices. Minnesota is crazy about hockey from everything I've read. High school hockey there is like high school basketball in Indiana or high school football in Texas.

It doesn't surprise me, but it is sad for Forsberg.
-
I made the association with Hossa because there was another thread about the Wings possibly acquiring him.
-
I think it's just a joke too.

Nashville won again tonight. The Predators now have a three-game win streak.

Kudos to the NHL for doing at least one thing right. Or maybe I should thank the teams involved?

SI is spotlighting goalie masks at this link, http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.1.html Look how big Giguere's pads are to everybody else's pads. It's ridiculous; I have a hard time believing those are within regulation. If so, the NHL needs to severely cut back on the size of goalie pads IMO. Luongo's look kinda big, but not near as big as Giguere's. Here are some others who I thought had big pads, again not near as big as Giguere's.

Ilya Kovalchuk scores 3 goals in the 3rd period tonight..

I watched the highlights to see the three goals. It seems to me both teams were moving at half speed. Maybe it was the camera work. IDK but it seemed slow to me. -

Kovalchuck had another Hat Trick tonight. Two straight games. WOW! -
IDK Buccigross might be a bigger fan of Forsberg than even himself. He's tempting for those teams for the reasons you posted, but there's always that specter of how fragile he is. I wonder how serious Holland is about pursuing him or is he saying that to inflate his price so another team pays more. As far as age - it seems to me in salary cap hockey that more and more teams are relying on younger players.

Something to consider is how well the Predators have played the last two nights. They beat Vancouver and Edmonton on back-to-back nights. They did lose to the Flames prior to that on Tuesday. Also they play the Blackhawks tomorrow night. Should be an interesting game Wednesday.

I thought I read Hasek was starting but I could be wrong.

Why Are the Red Wings So Good Year After Year?
auxlepli replied to livediehockey80's topic in General
Agreed. I say that though with total ignorance about Matthias, but total trust with Red Wing scouts and organization Can somebody name me a trade similar to this one that has bit the Red Wings in the collective ass? I can't think of one. -
Maybe it will be a freak year for him and the League.
-
Really? I don't trust the League that much. "The power does what it wants to." - George Carlin
-
I understand that. Something extreme needs to be done IMO to stop a player from hitting another player in the back. It seems to me it will take a death before the League changes its ways.

Do you think the Dropkick Murphys should receive World Series rings from the Red Sox organization? http://news.bostonherald.com/news/regional...ticleid=1041814

Why on WXYT do they run those anti-Pacer ads? Worse for who? I hate the Lakers, and I'm not a fan of the Bulls nor Kings. So if everyone of these teams lose in the trade, I'm all for it.
