That's very sad news. IMO a player should be out just as long as the player he hit is out. Maybe then these kind of hits will cease.

Why Are the Red Wings So Good Year After Year?

Scouts. -
...and look who quietly leads the league in assists
auxlepli replied to redwinger4747's topic in General
Correction there are already TWO other threads about this. Should we go for a fourth? -
I think there's a 100 percent chance the layoff could go either help or hinder the Wings.

I think good writers have dug deeper. There's an ancillary article Ross McKeon wrote. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AvuB...o&type=lgns The USA Today writer wrote a good article too and gave reasons why he thinks the attendance has fallen. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/colu...ttendance_N.htm Regardless, Hockeytown is a registered trademark, so no other team can use it except the Wings.

I like most everybody's mask. Some our busy, some are better than others, but I really like seeing the variety. I'm really surprised Osgood's didn't make it on the list. LOL

Leave it to Ted Kulfan to explain it. I'll read his articles first in the future. The AP story though is usually published minutes after the game though. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0317/1128/rss16 Still it might not be the first time ever.

I don't. What I do worry about is the Wings becoming a target team for the rest of the League. All the other teams play up for the Wings. It kinda happens already, but it will more so if the Wings' superior play continues.
-
I know that's right. It should would be less stressful for me it was like this in the playoffs.
-
All the stories I've read had said the first time in 21 attempts. The newest team is the Flames who arrived in 80 or 81, and that was 27 or 26 years ago. Then again it could be that the Wings didn't have the western Canada schedule for six or five years. I wonder what the discrepancy is? Anyway the Wings are playing very well, and congrats to them for sweeping western Canada teams.

I never saw that. Is it different than the one at Hockeytown Cafe?
-
There were the first team to do so. I guess that's why the were able to fend off Atlanta's rally last night. http://www.ottawasun.com/Sports/Senators/2...621805-sun.html

Ilya Kovalchuk scores 3 goals in the 3rd period tonight..
auxlepli replied to Cheli24's topic in General
Kovalchuk has really matured as a player. His work ethic has improved, and he's practically carrying that team. I feel sorry for him too. It's a shame the Atlanta organization can't build a better team around him. -
Because he's injury prone, because he makes Hasek look low-maintenance, because when he get's an injury he's a whiny baby, because he doesn't battle through his injuries like Stevie Y, because his asking price might be too much, because he's all about himself and not the team ... Anyway if it came down to Hossa or Forsberg, and the price was the same, I think I'd pick Hossa.

Congrats to Shanny! I love that dude. He was great as a Wing, and he single-handedly probably saved the NHL. He seemed to be the only voice of reason at that time. I'm glad he got his 1300th, but his leaving opened up spots for younger guys. In the long run, the Wings are probably better that he left.

Eh, fans panic all the time. Happens here quite a bit too.

Time for a shorty!

I want that chopper that's in Hockeytown Cafe. Aww man, that thing is sweet! BTW, that's pretty good article. I disagree with him about Columbus though.
-
Yes. I hope the Red Wings organization has taken this up with the League. http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news...3e-68079dbccf9b Damn he's hit some bad luck.

No penalty?
-
Yes, Ken Kal and Paul Woods just said that very same thing.
-
Wow, I'm surprised he's bringing this topic up again. I thought it had died down. Anyway, I'll add these two to my list. I've already saved 24. Kevin Allen sums up the problems nicely in this article. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/colu...ttendance_N.htm It pretty much states the same thing we've been posting.

Here's a good article about the whole feeling it, etc. http://www.ajc.com/services/content/sports...=7&cxcat=21 Here's something to keep in mind.
