Really? It made me laugh. Yeah it is kinda stupid, but I did laugh. Accept the stupid quote now and then, maybe because of them NHL will receive more coverage.
-
Well the whole "feeling it" thing is just a rumor, still I'm skeptical. He might be too much to keep. Also, Datsyuk is only six months older. It's not like Hossa is significantly younger.
-
No. The Wings are playing very well right now. I wouldn't upset the apple cart. Also, who's to say he'll "feel it" in Detroit.
-
Zetterberg has failed to notch a point in his last three games at Pengrowth and has only one assist in six games overall.
-
Good for Williams. I wouldn't necessarily want him back on the Wings though. I'm gonna say Kane for Calder. No real reason, just a shot in the dark. Speaking of Calder, I kinda liked that dude.
-
Me either. I hate to be pretentious and a conspiracy theorist, but ... 1 - Look at the city. 2 - IMO the NHL has been rigging the playoffs with phantom penalties etc. Dallas, Tampa, Carolina, Anaheim ... all Sunbelt teams propped up the commissioner and the BoG. They win and it builds fan interest, at least for awhile.

Firefox says it's two words. Squiggles appear under it when it's one, but not when two.

Dan the Man! Sweet.

Awesome with a capital A! Hradek said the same think that he wrote in that link I posted a few days ago. Anyway it's like a mini-PTI. I think they just choose opposing sides to make better TV. Oh also a link to this week's ESPN Power Ranks as Sens 1, Wings 2.
-
Yeah, the link works for me too. I agree. IMO it's the best place to see a hockey game, even if it wasn't home to the Wings.

I guess I can live with two games, not that I have an influence or any choice now. In some way though the Flyers organization needs to be held accountable. This was, as an organization, its third offense this season, which is not even a month old. Something is rotten in the city of Brotherly Love.

http://www.nhl.com/scores/index.html Not the entire game, but you can see the highlights of each game by clicking on the 700K links.

Anytime Bettman appears at a hockey arena he's booed.

Amazing!

http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index...ame%3dhradek_ej I knew the Wings had a big advantage in this category but I didn't realize it was that impressive. Which team has the largest goal differential? Scotty Bowman says that's a good indicator how well a team is playing.

Weird. Another tough game up in Edmonton.

He keeps his scoring streak alive!

Which active player will have his jersey retired?
auxlepli replied to timothy1997's topic in General
Is Forsberg active or no? Avs, which retired Bourque's number, will definitely retire Forsberg's number. -
Is a hockey or Red Wings page your home page in your internet browser? Mine is blank, but then I have like 12 Red Wings home pages that open up in tabs. I am Twelve is kinda too many though so I'm in the process of trying them all out, see which ones I prefer. I'd like to get it down to maybe six or eight. Here are the links I'm trying right now. Official - http://redwings.nhl.com/index.html - not objective enough, cluttered page CBC - http://stats.cbc.ca/nhl/teamstats.asp?team...p;type=teamhome - nice clean page, lots of info Freep - http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=SPORTS05 - not a big fan of the layout DetNews - http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/secti...gory=SPORTS0103 - OK, and I get updates in the A.M. ESPN - http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/clubhouse?team=DET - good one nice layout, lots of info MLive - http://www.mlive.com/redwings/ - local, and I find I get alot of info from it. MyWay - http://sports.myway.com/nhl/teams/det/ - no graphic ads, not enough info SI - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/hockey/nhl/teams/red_wings/ - great photos, cluttered page, links to other sites for info The Hockey News - http://stats.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/...eamhome.cgi?Det - too sparse Topix - http://www.topix.net/nhl/detroit-red-wings - info seems dated, and links to other sites. TSN - http://tsn.ca/nhl/teams/?hubname=nhl-red_wings - another old standby, nice layout, good info Yahoo - http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/det - might be the best, AP stories, division standing at top and photos at bottom So let me know what others I should be perusing. Or what you think about the ones I selected.

Another interesting stat about tonight's game - oldest team, Wings, versus the youngest, Edmonton. http://www.canada.com/topics/sports/hockey...0d2&k=38609

That's a pet-peeve of mine too, but it is a free country. Hmmm Blues or Hawks? Well the Blues are currently third and the Hawks are fourth. So I'd say Hawks. On the other hand, the Hawks have already beaten the Wings twice this season. Normally, in a situation like this, I cheer for which ever team is losing, hope for a tie game, so it goes to OT, then hope for a shootout too. That way you get to see the most hockey.

This was something more along the lines of what I was looking for, http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/playerrankin...&_1:col_2=4 I click on the different column headers, but it doesn't change the sort.
-
Something to keep in mind, the Red Wings have just two wins at Edmonton since January 1999.

http://stats.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/...amstats.cgi?Det http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?page=PlayerDeta...mp;service=page Both of these sites list Hasek's minutes as 426. He's played in seven games. Seven multiplied by 60 minutes eguals 420 minutes. Is this a typo? Or is it right? In which case, how does the NHL account for the extra six minutes.
