    Bobby Clarke for commish!

Dryden's resume is impressive. I think he would be perfect, if he was willing.

    Chelios Versus Bettman

I hope this battle between Chelios and Bettman escalates in such a manner that Bettman will be removed as commissioner. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0410/1128/rss16 His last quote gives me hope. I disagree with Chelios about the NHL on Versus, but I'm throughly in his corner in this fight

The Official List of Hat Tricks

Wikipedia is a good place to start, but one shouldn't stop there. There might be subtle difference. Rob the Badger says a fighting major, but Wikipedia says "got into a fight." So maybe Howe got into a fight, or even picked up a minor penalty, but not a major. Seems like I read or heard he had, or maybe I just assumed it. Anyway I'm curious now to know the truth. According to this Evan Weiner article he did. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=29835...mp;service=page

    Chelios Versus Bettman

2009 is just around the corner, and the linked story says more players need to be engaged in NHL labor problems like Chelios is. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=3067557 Yet the League is worried more about heated blades and new sweaters.

    Bobby Clarke for commish!

I still want Hull for commissioner. I'd settle for Chelios now.

    Atlanta Thrashers fire head coach

Unfortunately I think it had to happen. Waddell should be gone too.

The Official List of Hat Tricks

Funny! My favorites are Brett Hull's and Gary Bettman's. I was wondering if maybe Hulls should be at number 17 since this is a WIngs message board.

If it's a February game I will try to be there for it.

NHL players to use heated blades

The NHL has real issues to face yet they're trying this new technology? Sheesh, they - Bettman, owners, BOGs - have their collective head up their collective ass. Four hundred dollars for a pair of skates, but yet to get people hooked on hockey IMO it needs to be more affordable for the parents and the kids. Expect ticket prices to rise again.

    Question about team travel

It wouldn't be very green going from SoCal to Detroit to the Bay Area. I'm sure Al Gore is happy the Wings are staying in Cali.

    Help needed

There's a video download extension for Firefox. I don't know if it will work on NHL.com though. Couldn't you find the video on YouTube, ESPN, or TSN? Does URLSnooper work on those sites?

Z leads the league in points!

Zetterberg is still leading. What's scary IMO is Spezza, Heatley and Alfredsson are second, third, and tied for sixth respectively. Also the Wings are leading the League in SOG.

Vote for the Wings .... again

Yeah I agree. These polls are bulls***, but I still like to participate. Of course I use to feel that way about elections too. Anyway there's a lot of hatred for the Wings, lots of love, otherwise they wouldn't be a top draw around the nation, but still probably more hatred. I mean there's 29 other teams' fans who vote against the Wings.

10/15 GDT: Anaheim Ducks 6, Red Wings 3

A person posted on the Freep - "Maybe these refs have the same bookie that the NBA refs have." I'm inclined to agree. I don't think anybody can judge a player's performance from last night's game because it was so poorly officiated. The only stand-out was Anaheim's goalie, and whoever the Ducks throw in net always plays very, very well against the Wings.

10/15 GDT: Anaheim Ducks 6, Red Wings 3

Well that throughly sucked. Crappy refs, crappy game, crappy opponent. Can't believe the Wild can shut out the Ducks, but the Wings can't. That sucked too. My top two votes for contracting teams are the Kings and Ducks. Not having a team in L.A. works for the NFL. I'm sure it'd work for the NHL too.

Paul Woods said the officiating is so bad he hope guys from Toronto will be calling the refs tonight to reprimand them. I hope so too.

10/15 GDT: Anaheim Ducks 6, Red Wings 3

Blame this too on the crappy officiating. brtd even Paul Woods is saying this refs are awful. It's not just us.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I felt this way about a regular season game.

Paul Woods said it's bad officiating not bad rules. That's funny YoungGuns1340, and tonight, very true.

10/15 GDT: Anaheim Ducks 6, Red Wings 3

It's obvious to me they way the refs are calling this game that the NHL has it in for Detroit. Only a two-minute minor against Mowers was BS. That and last year's phantom call in Game 4, it's now becoming crystal clear.
