Anybody listen to the post-game show on WXYT last night? He had some really good opinions about the NHL on Versus, OLN as he called it, and the new rule changes. He said Versus does a great job with the NHL. That Versus is totally dedicated to the NHL, something that ESPN couldn't be. That if the NHL was on ESPN that games would be bumped in favor of NFL, MLB, and NBA games. He also wishes ESPN would highlight NHL games on Sportscenter instead of regulating them toward the end of the show. As far as the new rule changes, post lockout, he said they're great. He said right now is the best hockey he's seen since he's covered the NHL for the last twenty years. He said pre-lockout there was no flow and more clutching and grabbing. Woods said some other great things last night too. I wish I had recorded what all he said, because IMO he was spot on with everything he said.

That's awesome. Glad you got to meet him. I was thinking about coming up there for that, but that's as far as it got. LOL Anyway maybe people were too stunned to say thank him. Maybe they were in awe of him.

No, after Jeff and Paul were done, I turned it off to watch Letterman. If anybody knows if this is available as a podcast, I'd love to get it.

Yep, they got all that, Opryland, capitol, Grand Old Opry, Music Row, etc., YET the only thing that's drawn me there has been NHL hockey games.

Three years and two weeks. Seems I remember reading that they were working on them during the lockout. That article even quoted Bettman, but maybe he was lying about that too.

To be honest I like the bagginess of the old jerseys. If you felt they were baggy why didn't you buy smaller ones? Datsyuk does just the opposite with the new sweaters. I'm not as opposed to them as I initially was, (though I still don't like the cut of them much) but it concerns me when players are still having a problem with them. These EDGE jerseys were supposedly in the works for like three years. Why aren't these bugs worked out? Bettman's attitude toward the players, and fans, who don't like them is awful. It's a money-making scheme with little or no regard how fans and players feel IMO. It's his atttude about everything he does and says that I think turns fans off, and I even agree with him about some things - mainly the lockout situation, and not wanting teams to move. He's a bad figurehead for hockey, and he turns fans off toward the NHL. Add this to another reason why Wings fans aren't attending games.

Exactamundo. Also since the new uniforms interferes with the players comfortability and therefore their playing ability, the level of hockey decreases. I know they are professionals and all, but I'm sure it's still aggravating. So much for 12 percent faster hockey.

The idea of coast-to-coast conferences is appealing, but the NHL and NBA can't work like MLB and NFL. In the NFL only one game a week, usually. In MLB there's usually at least two games per stop when traveling.
