WXYT is on iTunes radio. The sound is much better there, but it's a bit farther behind.

I wish I lived in Canada. Windsor would be ideal.
-
Yeah me too. Don't forget Williams and LaPointe. Lapointe not so much anymore though.
-
Anybody else listening to the radio feed online?
-
Take that Hawks!
-
Drake at it again.

The UC is about as sparse as that on game days. Of course now, I guess I shouldn't be taking a stab at their attendance.

Fedorov has a goal. The Ducks, as defending champs, deserve the hard schedule.

Better sightlines? JLA probably has the best in the League. Better than any other arena where I've seen a game. Even the Masterminds said if a new arena is built they want the same sightlines, and I agree with them. Even before I read that, that's what I've proposed if a new arena is built. So yeah, a new arena would attract sellouts, at least for a year or two. As long as it's one bowl, same sightlines, and downtown, I could go along with a new arena. LOL, not like it needs my approval, but that's my opinion.

That's true about Bettman. There's a point to be made about lack of Canadian stars. While I disagree with that sentiment, I've met Wings fans who agree with it.

Eh, it's just one game that he's saying that Detroit looked good.

The best seat in any house were the corners looking into the bench. That's where scouts sit, so I've read. It took me two seasons to figure that out on my own before I read it. Anyway, when the NHL put up the safety nets, that's when I couldn't sit there anymore. I hate sitting behind safety nets, whether at a hockey or baseball game. It literally gives me headaches. White safety nets are much, much better, and I sat behind them at Yost without any problems. Still don't like them, but I can tolerate them much better. So now I like sitting above the glass behind the penalty boxes. That way I can still see into the benches. So if you're sitting behind the safety nets, and black ones at that, it's obstructed view IMO. That's where I think the $9 seats are if I'm not mistaken, and I have no interest in those at all.

Can't believe this hasn't been posted already. Now Chelios is saying the new unis are awful. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0439/1128/rss16

I know some people who mess it up. Some talking heads do to. Many have speech impediments, it's ironic but that's one reason they got into the industry. On a similar note, a buddy of mine always says Winona Wyder.

Not concerned at all. It's way too early.

From a design perspective, the C and A where they are now, just doesn't look pleasing to me. The new design still isnt't that bad IMO. As far as size, I read somewhere Datsyuk said he'd just wear his jersey bigger. Looks like it to me. Also I agree with haroldsnepsts, make the goalies where smaller pads. The technology has to be there.
-
Not me. Though when the Wings were there it was nearly full. Also IMO it's safer around JLA than around UC.
-
That may be true Gizmo, still the new swearters cost more, and I'm sure some League officials were like "this is a great money-making scheme." The new designs aren't that bad, for the most part, certainly not any worse than the old jerseys. But I'm cynical as to the change in the first place. That whole 12 percent faster, and making the players more comfortable makes me roll my eyes. Especially when I read this, "what isn't likely is the NHL turning back and abandoning a deal that pours millions into league coffers." That's just one writer's opinion, but it's true. The League saw dollar signs and went for it, just like it did with expansion.

The economy shouldn't be an issue when other Detroit teams are drawing well. The Tigers three million is mentioned alot, but what I want to see and read is the percantage of capacity. Like somebody else posted 17,000+ is lot, especially if the Joe seats more than 20,000. BTW where is the love, ummm I mean hate, for Bob Wojnowski and Bruce MacLeod.
-
New cleaning techniques? WTF is your average Joe gonna do? Hmmm that makes me wonder about a few things. How green is this new technique? How much does it cost? What does it entail? Will the teams now need to spend more money? Does this mean ticket prices will increase to cover the cost? The jerseys, replica and authentic, already cost more right? So yet we see attendance is down, but yet the NHL raises prices on something else, further gouging the average fan. All this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. This was brought up months ago, if not last year's all-star game, why is this problem just now being addressed?

Maybe Hockeytown isn't dead, but certainly the interest in the Red Wings has waned. It hasn't for me, and probably not many members here, but I think it has to casual fans. Can there be casual hockey fans? JLA isn't necessarily the place to be seen anymore. It's not trendy anymore, so there's fewer seats sold. These things fluctuate.

Agree on both points. After surfing awhile last I easily got around and don't miss the side navigation links at all. Though on some pages they still appear. The official scoresheet is very odd compared to previous years' models. IIRC this is the first year the format has changed since I found the scoresheets on the web.
