This is a great solution to geography conundrum. I like it a lot. The BOG hosed the two Florida teams though. I wonder who the other two teams are who opposed this.

The NHL is sellable. The ratings increase in the last few years speaks to this. The problem, as always, is the Disney networks. ABC and ESPN didn't know how to sell the NHL. Or what I really think, didn't care to.

Does anybody know if you can still stream the radio call from games for free via NHL.com? As of a few years ago I could. I can't find it now, and when I do search it takes me to NHL Game Center which is five dollars per month.

Agreed. Still, which way can affect changes better? Posting the umpteenth thread about how much shootouts suck or not supporting the NHL, owners and players, financially based on principles. The latter affects their bottom line, and in my opinion is more effective. For example, I was a season-ticket holder for three years, then the NHL installed safety nets. I stopped being a season-ticket holder and told my representative why I would no longer be one, because of the safety nets. You have to hit them where it will hurt.

I have an idea for you ... stop watching NHL games, and stop attending NHL games. In fact stop posting on NHL-related Web sites. Stop supporting NHL in anyway, then maybe owners and players will realize your dissatisfaction and change the rules so you won't have to endure another NHL shootout.

Other than the Reebokification of the current uniforms, I pretty much like them all as they are now in regards to colors and designs. However there are exceptions: I'm not a big fan of Calgary's hairy C. Penguins should ditch the true gold and go the more yellowish gold, but I can live with their colors. Atlanta's baby blue, assymetric jersey is probably the ugliest in the League in my opinion.
