Yeah I agree. Nike does some truly crazy stuff with their uniform designs.

Today I voted for the Penguins. Also the Wings logo is probably the best in ALL of sports, maybe best logo period. My four-month-old nephew is fascinated by it. Whenever I'm holding him and wearing my Wings gear, he constantly stares at it. Doesn't matter if it's a little logo up in the corner or a big logo in the center, he gravitates toward it.

I thought he retired a while back. He always kinda reminded me of an ugly Ringo.

Great blog. I bookmarked it so I'd remember to vote everday. I voted for the Wild and the Leafs. And as far as Leafs logos go I like the '67 version personally.

I liked the ones with Shania Twain the best. The problem is that they showed them during hockey games when they should have showed them during the CMA's or something. She's from Windsor, does she show up in Wings attire when in Detroit?

I don't think they did anything. I think it's more conducive to TV viewing, and there's only one game per week so it's easier to follow during the season Casual fans don't necessarily have to be die-hard fans to keep up with three or four or more, which is the case with hockey, basketball, and baseball.

ESPN brings numbers, as in households is all. When that's coupled with It's treatment of the NHL, which has been poor at best - pre- and post- lockout, it spells disaster. ESPN talking heads bashed the NHL when they had it, why would their attitude automatically change? I don't buy into your philosophy for a second. I don't trust anybody at ESPN. It's obvious they're more into entertainment now than sports, which is fine that's what the E signifies. ESPN = the worldwide ENTERTAINMENT, not sports, leader. Sportscenter showed very few highlights of the NHL when it was on the Mickey Mouse network. So I'll stand by my backburner statement. Call me an idiot and an offensive person all you want, but I haven't gotten personal, you have.

The NFL is the most boring game of the "big four" IMO. Play for five seconds, talk about it for 15. BORING So with that, anything that the NFL produces is boring. Mock drafts, a network ... YAWN. Yeah the league occasionally gets lucky with a truly exciting game, once or twice a season, but mostly it's boring. Even it's big game is a snore fest. There's been one or two memorable super bowls and it has the most boring half-time shows too. The past one with Prince is the exception that proves the rule. Oh and worst all -star game belongs to the NFL too. American football lends itself to TV timeouts and that is the only reason it's popular IMO. Attending a game is synonymous with torture IMO. It's only redeeming quality is the sideline eye candy.

That list is definitely missing some. The fore-mentioned Kings, the current Falcons, etc. BTW I finally was able to see all the contenders, and I voted for the Ducks - the Oregon Ducks! Nike truly makes some awful designs.

Maybe Ecklund started this rumour too.
