Here's to hoping that Eckland is wrong again. I do remember around Super Bowl time some ESPN hack said the NHL should come back to ESPN. Can't remember the guy's name but it was on the Jim Rome show IIRC. In any case, I hope the NHL stays put. Didn't Versus just extend its NHL contract? ESPN, the so-called "sports leader," is a joke when it doesn't show the NHL and would rather show poker, spelling bee's, etc.

The vertical yellow piping does look kinda peculiar, but it's not that bad.

Another clunker IMO. For the most part, I've liked the new designs, even the Predators new ones. These and the Isles ones are horrible though. Horrible!

Me too. Before opening the thread that's what I thought it was going to be aboot. Those guys are the reason why I'm a hockey fan. Truly America's team IMO. No city team can represent a nation. Though when I became an NHL fan one reason I picked the Wings b/c they are a Midwestern team. Regions and states I guess are do-able, but not a nation. Even if you still want to choose America's team I think road attendance should be be a determining factor. What's his credentials anyway? Here's another man's opinion ... Regardless of popularity hockey is the best sport in the world. It's the best game I can name. Real or not, they look good ... except for the numbers on front. Also, green and black is not a good color combination IMO.

I liked the old Wings site better too. I noticed last night all the teams sites are in the same template. I have mixed feelings about it - kinda makes sense I guess, but I also liked that each team's site was a little different. Lack of variety = blandness.

Bettman admiting a mistake? Never. He won't do it. It's not in his nature. He'll keep the team in Nashville even if he buys the tickets to send the Predadtors over the 14,000 mark. He's an egomanic who now has unlimited clout because of the lockout win.

Yes, I'd love to see him back in a Wings uniform. I looked for an Avery jersey when I was in Detroit, but couldn't find one.

Not much different, but definitely better IMO.

I always like sorting by percentage. The bottom two are Chicago and St. Louis. From personal experience that doesn't surprise me. What surprised me was attending Wings games in Chicago and St. Louis last year that it was so sparse. That's when I found it surprising. Oh wow, what's more interesting to me is the road percentage. Top draw - the Rangers, worst - Predators. I'm really surprised the Wings aren't higher. I expected them to easily be in the top 10, or even in the top 5.

I agree. However, just off the top of my head, not many teams with a stick or sticks in their logo have won the Cup. Let them keep the stick.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the new jerseys so far. They all look pretty good IMO. There are always exceptions though, and my exception is the Isles new ones. I'm not digging the numbers on the front. Jwo - I agree aboot the NHL neck, but I'm torn on the Caps white undersleeve. Part of me says yeah all red would be cool, the other part says break it up. Maybe some other kind of design on the sleeve.

I'm digging it.

Good for Cheli!! I'm glad he didn't. Especially Giguere's, he has to be the biggest cheater in the NHL. He'll get my respect when his protective gear is not in Hextall's realm.

Even though the Wings didn't win the Cup, I'm still very proud of them and the organization. This Wings team exceeded my pre-season expectations. So yeah I'm happy they did that, but very, very disappointed they didn't go farther. I really thought they could win it all after second round. Weird that my expectations changed so much.
