Hrmmm, Wings are third in Detroit. I would've expected them to be first.
-
And the hits just keep on coming
-
I really liked NBC's coverage Sunday of the Rangers - Isles game. Play by play guy was decent as well as the color commentator. Granted it wasn't Thorne or Clement, but it was still really good IMO.

I'll be sure to bookmark that page.

YouTube totally rawks. So does Cheli, who always protects his teammates. It's hard to tell from what's shown in the video. What I can see though, and Paul Woods was right, is the push to the head at the end of the hit. Also check out the "Big Hit" here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oe2I5LEOvY Nieminen leaves his feet to make the hit. So yeah, dirty player IMO.

If anybody wants to buy the DVD set for me, please feel free to do so. I added it to my Barnes and Noble wish list. lol
-
IF there was a closed door meeting, it probably had to do with the flop that resulted in a goal the other night.
-
Yep Anaheim, at Nashville, and Dallas.
-
I guess everybody has lost interest but the evening tilt has shaped up into a close game.
-
Is the Red Wave related to the Crimson Tide?
-
I miss Gary Thorne calling games too, along with Bill Clement. I don't miss the NHL on ESPN though, not one bit. ESPN had the chance to do it right and that Mickey Mouse network failed, MISERABLY.

I don't particularly like it, but I kinda understand it's need. They certainly don't tolerate it during the Olympics. I also think it keeps American kids away b/c their ignorant and horrified parents have a hard time explaining and justifying it. They can then point to the other major leagues and say look, fighting is not part of those games.

Hmmm still not posted to NHL.com. Let fans see the hit Colin.
-
There's a huge difference between the two. I'll read metalwinger_13's posts and the one quoted here I did. Kp-Wings' example I won't and didn't. Yes I realize Kp exaggerated. If the mods have a problem with metalwinger_13's posts or topics let them handle it. If not, let metalwinger_13 be or just ignore him or her.

Hmmm oddly enough yes. If a non-playoff team can beat the Wings, then another non-playoff team can beat the Preds. Oh wait that's right, the Wings are gearing up for a long playoff run. Nevermind.

UCLA gets to play two rounds in a row in California. How fair is that?
-
Geez let the guy or gal start a thread. So the poster wants to rant a bit, yeah it's been mentioned like every other game the past week or so. It's no worse then the Lebda thread having its own separate one from the GDT, which are hard to follow IMO even DURING the games it's hard to keep up some times.
-
I didn't see the video on NHL.com or YouTube. Oh and I guess y'all missed my earlier post ... ACCORDING TO RED WINGS RADIO ANNOUNCER PAUL WOODS NIEMINEN GOT A GAME MISCONDUCT BECAUSE HE JAMMED LEBDA'S HEAD INTO THE DASHERS!
-
I'm not down with the police lingo, what's a 187?
-
Well at least the Buckeyes will be representin the Big 10. I really do wish Memphis had been in another region! Damnit!
-
I didn't see it but was listening on the web. Paul Woods said the bad thing was that Nieminen jammed Lebda's head against the dashers. That's why I thought Nieminen was ejected, not for simply hitting Lebda in the back. Either way Nieminen got what he deserved at the very least. Woods said Nieminen deserves at least a two-game suspension too. IMO Woods, a former Wing, is far from being a homer. He seems very objective to me, and I respect his commentary. In fact I get mad at him at times b/c he's not homer. Anyway I say all that to say even though I haven't seen the hit yet, I agree with Woods.
-
It's not a theory it's fact. On a side note the red jerseys didn't help change the Wings' luck today.
-
It's too bad that Ohio State and Memphis are facing off this early. If this was the final game, yeah I'd still be pulling for the Buckeyes, but if they lost at least it's to Memphis. I abhor every other team still remaining.
-
A chance to pull ahead of Nashville and the Wings blow it. They really needed two points today. I hope the Oilers shut out the Preds tonight.

This reminds me. I hate 4 on 4. OT is fine but make it 5 on 5 for 5.
