Leave the NHL alone it's fine as is. It's the best hockey in the world and the best sport in the world. Oh and by the way, the four-letter network is as bad as hockey is good.

The Pacers last season really got me back to the NBA. I'd given up on it after Magic and Bird left, but thre Pacers brought me back. Their games are exciting, even when they don't win, and the Canseco Fieldhouse atmosphere is phenomenal. It's just so fun to attend games there. Oh and the NBA should be on Versus. It'd be another blow to the four-letter network, and give Versus more clout.

Nothing new here. I've been saying they've sucked for years, and I'm still on a 1.5-year boycott of all things four-letter network related products, not just the website. C'mon aboard. There's lots of room on this bandwagon.

Anyone still depressed about the last game? I am. Earlier today I tried to read an old Hockey News that was in a buddy of mine's office. I flipped through like two pages, saw that the Wings - Flyers game was upcoming, and I immediately put the magazine down and left his office. I just can't do it yet. I probably won't be right until the season starts. Heck if I wasn't deployed right now I probably still wouldn't be on this site until the start of the season. I haven't blogged. I haven't been on other sports sites' NHL pages. Virtually nothing related to sports. Oddly enough though, I am reading The Game by Ken Dryden right now. That doesn't seem to effect me though. It's too far in the past, and it's not about the Wings. Even though there is the Scotty Bowman connection. I don't know, maybe that is just what I need right now. Everything else is just too much.

Fine. Looks like I won't be buying DirecTV when I get back home.

You guys and gals are lucky any network, especially a national one, chooses to broadcast hockey. It's not like the NHL garners fantastic ratings. Oh and it's not Bettman's fault either. It's the owners' fault. They hired Bettman. They allowed him to continue his reign, and Bettman acts on the owners' behalf, and they haven't fired him yet.

It sure would be nice if the Wings showed up for the entire game. -

Havlat should learn to keep his head up. It was a clean hit. I can't believe Kronwall got a game misconduct. -
Bill Simmons is another in long line of ESPN idiots.

Mikael Samuelsson receives a ton of crap in the regular season from posters here, but he's damn near a golden god in the playoffs.

Wing look tentative. They're not getting rebounds. I don't see them winning.- 1,913 replies

I wish the Wings would let me know which of their two teams is going to show up - the one that rolls over and loses or the one that dominates and wins - prior to the game starting. That'd save me a lot of trouble, anguish and grief.
-
The Wings won't win game seven either. They will be crushed under their self-imposed pressure.
-
If I remember 2007 correctly The Wings lost to the Ducks
-
Too bad the Wings didn't show up to play this game.
-
Will Wings retire 91 for Fedorov? I say no, and I hope they don't.
-
The Wings controlled the play for nearly two full OT periods, with a power play to boot, and still weren't able to puck into the back of the net. Pitiful, disgraceful and yes, pathetic. I don't see them advancing if they can't figure out how to win in OT, as I think all these Anaheim games will be close. When was the last time the Wings won an OT playoff game? I honestly can't remember.

True, and I didn't ask for a link either. I haven't visited that site in months.

What's the significance of the grey dots between the circles on either end of the ice?

I like Pierre and Panger, but I really like Lindsay Soto.

Agreed. From my point of view United Center is just horrible. 1 - There are no hotels nearby. 2 - There are no watering holes nor restaurants nearby. 3 - There is no mass transit rail system nearby. 4 - Taxi service to and from there is awful. 5 - It's in a shady area of Chicago. 6 - Most importantly, the sightlines are horrible for hockey. And while the Joe hasn't been around forever, it's only 30, it's one of the oldest in the League.

Ummm .... maybe because the SportsCenter show is supposed to be objective. Maybe because hockey fans watch ESPN. Those are two reasons. Thanks to Mickey Mouse networks' lack of hockey coverage I don't voluntarily watch ESPN anymore. Today for instance I watched NBC and Versus. Three hockey games and the IRL race. ESPN is totally off my radar. I have zero reason to watch that network anymore. Zero! Especially now that they don't show hockey highlights either. When I go to sports bars I immediately ask for the station or stations in my vicinity to be changed to either Versus, the NHL Network, or Fox Sports. All those reasons is why ESPN should show highlights.
