i do believe this may very well end the arguement this board has been having over the past couple weeks about whether or not Nashville is a hockey city.

he had the 4 point game a couple weeks back but other than that he's done nothing. and i'm not saying he isn't a good player but we do have to sit a quality player and this guy just seems to turn the puck over several times a game. watch the way he plays and tell me you would play him over Hudler/Filppula or even Samuelsson (who at least has a quality wrist shot)

over the past couple days we've talked about who should be the foward to sit out the playoffs due to Hudler & Filppula's surge. i know it's cliche to rip into Lang but i think Babcock should seriously consider making him the benched player. he brings nothing to the table other than turnovers and penalties. i know there are people on this site that believe the Lang bashing is unneeded but i truly think that it seems like he just causes much more harm then good. Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holstrom Bertuzzi - Filppula - Calder Maltby - Draper - Franzen Cleary - Hudler - Samuelsson

Samuelsson without question Maltby should play just for his penalty killing alone plus he's a proven playoff clutch performer Hudler & Filppula showed some great strides with their play in two HUGE games hence they should play Cleary has died off since the beginning of the season but he's strong defensively and has a little more grit

the more and more i watch him play the closer i come to the conclusion that he may very well be the best defenseman in the history of the NHL. he has excelled in 2 different eras of hockey (pre lockout and post). without question he's in the top 4 with Orr, Harvey & Bourque but in my opinion he's the best

the NHL fumbles the ball once again. 22 games isn't even close to enough games to suspend this guy, forget the fact that holliweg is fine, the intent of serious injury was there. should of been at least 40 maybe even 50 games

just saw it on sportscenter and melrose says he should be suspended the rest of the season which is only 15 games. i think bettman needs to make an example out of him and he should be suspended for 50 games. if he hit him hard enough with that stick and in the neck, who knows how bad it could of been

exactly within time you may become a hockey city but as of this point you can't be. and yes there aren't very many hockey citites in the U.S.

a hockey city must first consist of a large amount of hockey fans...this is where the core of your fanbase comes from. now stay with me there's more. a hockey city consists of a fanbase that follows it's team year round, not just in the playoffs. fans that understand the game are also important not a bunch of morons (and i draw this conclusion by reading some of there comments like we booed when fischer nearly died or how 3 cups in the past 10 yeard hasn't been successul, it's been dissappointing). lastly they haven't been around long enough to truly be considered a die hard hockeytown
