the biggest reason this hurts is those 3 games against Nashville in the next 14 days. i don't know about the rest of you guys but if we finish 4th more than likely we'll have to meet San Jose first round and that us the number one team i don't want to see in the playoffs.

i think Dallas is the clear cut favorite for us to play considering we've owned them and Turco has been terrible against us and in the playoffs. Minnesota seems like they would be next in line but Vancouver frightens me a little because you never know what you're gonna get from Luongo. he could go off and completely shut us down like Giguere a couple years ago

i've been one of the many who've bashed Lang numerously over the years but i think he needs a good kick in the ass. i think he's gonna have to be big for us in the playoffs if we have any hope so maybe moving him down to the fourth line or benching him for a couple games will get him going. plus we need to put some decent players on a line with him

nice one gongshow. i like raffi torres though, is he available at the deadline

Franzen-Filppula-Hudler should be the 2nd line. Franzen deserves more ice time and i think with a little bit of offensive talent on his line he would really shine

i'm not quite sure if his name has been brought up as a possibilty for the wings but i think he could be a big help. now he isn't the solution to our top six foward problem but i think he may be the gritty player we could use. let's say he plays third or fourth line for us, he's going to score the occasional goal and he plays with a lot of heart and emotion plus he's gotta playoff experience while being a leader in the locker room....your thoughts?

my personal opinion would be to leave the first line intact and then the second line would consist of Cleary-Filppula-Guerin/Tkachuk. Filppula NEEDS more ice time. then Maltby-Draper-Franzen and using Lang/Samuelsson/Williams/Hudler as a fourth line depending on whomever is left over from our trade movements

i fully agree

putting williams on waivers is just as insane as putting samuelsson. they are both even in goals and samuelsson has got to be the most overrated red wing. he can't pass or skate and his shot rarely hits the net. you people say that williams should be traded because of he had a good 1st half last year and that's it, the same applies to samuelsson

what i'm saying is that he isn't a primetime player anymore but he will throw in a goal every now and then and i can guarantee you that if someone takes a shot at one of our stars he's gonna come right back and throw his weight around

the way i see it is that williams has not had a great season but there is no reason to call him the core of the red wings problems. first off tonights loss could not be put on him (at least he was able to get some kind of shot on the goaltender as opposed to dats and zetterberg). now williams to me has some untapped potential and after a 20 goal campaign last season he hasn't played that well but trading him for a rental player just doesn't seem right. now if we can really get something worthwhile for williams then maybe we should consider a trade

i liked joey mac even though he may not be a starter in this league, i can easily see him being a career back-up for some team. also i'm sure he has to have some kind of value in any kind of trade so this move is a little surprising

we won't be giving up filppula for any kind of rental player. he is our #1 prospect
