Jason Williams used to be one of my favorite wings. I know that he never really lived up to his potential (except for two years ago maybe) but do you think it was really worth it to trade him away to a division foe (even though they suck) for Kyle Calder? Its easy to look at the trade now and think it was awful just because of how productive calder was for us, but i think that williams would have fit in well with our team this year, and if nothing else he was a solid second or third liner that could score. I just think if your gonna trade for a rent-a-player, that player should be a little better than calder and you shouldnt give up a guy like williams.

Anyone know what kind of pads osgood wears? Im pretty sure they are different from last years (im a goalie) and i kinda want to check them out. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Lilja has stepped it up, but i would still much rather see markov considering i know what lilja is capable of.. but i disagree, i think kronwall has been pretty solid so far

As solidly as Lilja has played this year (compared to last) i still wont forget that it IS Lilja, so i will never be comfortable with him on the blue line

He has improved sooo much this year.. him and datsyuk are among the elite players in the league that make their presence felt the entire game and that other teams game plan around.

I think the wings will win this one.. maybe 2-1, with ozzie preserving the shutout until about 4 minutes left in the 3rd. Zetterberg, Kronwall for us.. Yelle for them

They would NEVER have all original 6 teams in the eastern conference. Thats one of the many reasons the wings aren't in the east. Sure the west is full of teams that have their respective fan bases, but every time an original 6 team comes to town in a western city (except maybe chicago), people go out and watch. If all the original 6 teams were in the north, no one would even know there was a south conference, not to mention the southeast division, the average attendance for those places combined on any given night isnt enough to generate anything (the capitals would have a chance for attendance because of ovechkin)

I think that any game between two teams at the top of the conference is going to be a battle. You never want to lose to the cream of the crop; especially when you are supposed to be right up there also. I think its more of a ducks vs. Chelios thing.. but then again you could say that for just about any team.

didnt he work for HNIC earlier in his career? why would he want to go back after coming to do wings games?

The NHL really does suck at marketing.. but i think they are really trying. People complain about there being no comercials for the season or playoffs.. but there were a ton of commercials, the problem was that they were only on VS. I watch sportscenter/espn almost every night and i have seen ONE ad for the NHL on VS. Its crap.
