seems like all the guys you listed up there you also think would go well with Zetterberg and Datsyuk.. the only thing that i have to say is WHO WOULDNT!?!?! We could put Lilja as our first line center with Hank and Pavs and he would be making a trip to the all star game come 07-08. Im sick of these big bodies that just end up being pylons (Hatcher, Bertuzzi, Lang, etc..) What we need.. and for that matter what every other team in the league needs.. is more speed. More size would also be nice but only if they can skate faster than my grandma. Also, i think it was a big mistake putting Lang and Bertuzzi on the same line.. its like they are stuck in 5th gear the entire time.. when they get moving they are alright but it takes friggin forever.

Thats what she said! But on a more serious note.. it feels strange because im not very worried about our playoff lives. We have outplayed them, they are just getting the bounces.. hopefullly it will turn around in game 6

Did anyone else think that the entire third period was dominated by the Franzen-Zetterberg-Samuelsson line? The ducks just couldn’t stop hank and all three almost made them pay multiple times. ALSO, the combination of Filppula-Datsyuk-Holmstrom really excites me considering they too had multiple chances towards the tail end of the game (really excited for Flip’s future). I liked the way things turned out having two lines that could beat you at any moment rather than just one. Seeing these combos in action again really makes me believe that we have two #1 lines followed by the lang-bertuzzi-cleary (despite the points I didn’t believe they played great). And one last thing... how much time did the draper-maltby-kopecky line get? It seemed like I saw them only a couple of times and the rest was just the other three. I think that Draper and Malts are too big of assets to be sitting them all game (even though they play every pk)

Now throughout the playoffs I have been reading other teams sites message boards and in each round they all say the same thing. They all say that the VS crew is in love with the wings and wants the flames/sharks/ducks to fail. Now i have watched all the games and i havent really noticed this. Is this because im a wings fan? do they favor the wings? Also.. on a side note.. is it just frustration that on all these message boards the fans say the refs are screwing their teams?

i think it would almost be better for ottawa to lose tonight and then win on friday night just so they arent not off for so long

the only reason that i am so curious about this is because all three groups of fans somehow seem to feel very strongly about the VS. crew rooting for the wings

I was just watching that and thinking the same thing but just for arguments sake.. do you think that we dont think that they are more biased towards the wings just because we are red wings fans?

Thanks.. i have done all the research.. and thats why my question wasnt: does the media favor the wings? (even though that is the title of the topic) its about the opposing teams fans thinking that the media favors the wings. I actually said that I really didnt notice it.. but anyways.. it just gets really annoying hearing all these people complain (especially calgary) about how they got robbed and some of them cant just admit they just got beat.

i think it was a good deal because if you have a guy thats proven like maltby and can go up against the other teams top lines and play on the PK night in and night out, its better than having a rookie goal scorer who is weak on defense... now that being said, maltbys skills could easily diminish and he could be useless in a couple of years. Also.. it will let our young guys get more seasoning in the minors.. i would rather have a 23 yr old with experience and who is ready than a 20 year old that could use a year or two more in the minors. Overall i thinik that maltbys contributions are very underrated, there have been countless times where he has been under the other teams skin and they have taken bad penaltys. not to mention i bought a maltby jersey last year and now i can wear it for another 3 years
