    Got to give the Penguins their due... they made it to the past two finals. There is no reason to believe they won't be a serious threat to return next year.

    Somthing happens to some teams after they win the cup.The hunger subsides and they just go through the motions.

    I really can't believe that this is posted on LGW board <_< ,hell we know who the best team is for the last 15 years is.

    I am amazed that with all the adverstity they faced, that the Wings managed to get as far as they did. Call it sour grapes, but it is my belief tht this cup is tainted.

    Is it possible for anyone to play inside a system for 82 games and then be expected to play inside an entirely different system for the playoffs? The Wings have been amazing adapting to the new "NHL" with the rules on holding, obstructing, interfering, etc., and played the game within the rules that were put upon them better than anyone else in the league. To expect them to play at the same level and with the same success when the league takes the entire rule book and tosses it out the window is positively ludicrous.

    It has been argued that the number of power plays throughout the series with the Penguins was pretty much even for both teams. I don't believe that can even be considered a valid argument for 1 very important reason. The number of penalties "CALLED" was even, more or less. I give you that. However, the number of "UNCALLED" penalties was undeniably one-sided. So, given any given game, Detroit commits 10 penalties, and are called for 2 or three of them. Pittsburgh commits 20 or more penalties and are called for 2 or 3 of them. How is that equitable?

    I do not believe that the best team won this series. I believe that the league won this series for the Penguins, and that if they only way to win the cup is to pretty much have it handed to you, well, that's even worse than 2nd best.

    Contratulations Detroit. Have a great off-season, rest up, heal up, and I'm looking forward to another great year next year.

    If any Penns fan were to see this thread, they would probably feel great about and laugh their asses off. I would if it were the other way. A bunch of spoiled whiney Wings fans who are even bigger sore losers than Crosby was last year.

    Exzactly,I have been proud of us wings fans I thought we would never stoop to this.What happened to our pride as RED WINGS FANS.We are the most spoild fans in the NHL.WE have the best team around.I for one would rather be a Wings fan without the cup then any other teams fan with the cup.I am a Red Wing fan and I don't make excuses for loses.in the same way I don't care about the other teams fans excuses for their loses,I thought we did'nt make excuses for our team when they lose.When the Wings are in their grove even the refs can't stop them from winning.

    I don't really think you can make the argument that the Wings could have won games 3 or 4. You could try, but I don't think it's very valid.

    On the surface, the odds are stacked against the Pens, and all your stats there are right. However, stats and trends don't win hockey games. We'll see how it plays out on the ice tonight. I myself have a good feeling about this one.

    No stats and trends don't win hockey games only when there stacked against your team.I bet my dollar to your nickle that your trolling ass will eat these words.

    If the Wings win tonight, I will make one final post stating that I was completely wrong and misread this series entirely, and then I will never post again.

    If the Pens win, I won't be around here rubbing it in either.

    I'm just offering up some friendly hockey banter. No offense is intended.

    Hey man we are Red Wing fans we don't get upset we get even.We love some friendly banter as long as the Wings win.lolNow the pens would have a chance if Zeta,Dats ,and Lidstrom was'nt playing.oh and if Ozzy had a big hole in his chest. :crazy:

    Seems every time a whole bunch of the other teams fans come around and try to talk trash and then are greeted with logic and facts, Letsgowings starts to pop up on my attack site warnings list. Hmm... interesting

    I have family in Uniontown PA,those people think that other teams should lay down and let their team win.They can kiss my RED and WHITE ass.They never use logic or facts when they want to start trouble,cause they don't know any.

    There you go.In games 3,4 and 6 Babs did'nt get the matchups he wanted and Malkin got lose a couple times.Malkin did get to dance like cindarella after his goal in game4(I think).Lets just see what zetta does in game 7 he will be a man on fire. :flamingmad: :nhl2::nhl:

    I wanna say about 70%. I'm usually not too optimistic so take it for what its worth, but keep in mind, this Pens team has not won the cup yet, whereas the wings just did last year.

    God I hope Wings win

    I am 99.9% sure,there is that slite chanch that the pens could pull a rabbit out of the hat but I know the Wings they are gonna fight like hell.And they will eat the rabbit raw..lol

    I do believe that last change is the key and Detroit has that in game 7.What else could it be,Every game home team wins/I hope and pray that that holds up.

    In my homer heart I can't believe the Wings could have let this series go this far but the pens are a good team and I do have respect for them. :battle:

    well we are going to lose..... our goalie is a bum giving up 3+ GA in the regular season... Osgood BLOWS!

    we have predicted our demise this season since game 1 of the preseason... let destiny run its course would you... the wings are a bunch of chokers that don't want it.

    bahahaha if the pens win. Good one. Im not even going to bother to read through this thread. They wont win so it doesn't even matter. Anaheim is the only team I have been slightly nervous about playing in the last 3 years.

    Yeah but did'nt they lose cause the Germans bombed pearl harbor.If you read some of their post the Wings had nothing to do with that win.

    I have been here a long time.I just read and laugh mostly.IKNOW THE WNGS ARE CAPEABLE OF SHUTING COSBY AND MALKIN down.With Dats their chanches are better but even without him they can and will do it.They do this kind of thing better than any other team in the NHL.

    The more I think about it, you're asking the impossible. You are asking that collectively as a group/message board, we do what you ask. It wouldn't matter what you're asking. There's no way in hell it can happen. We have nutcases and posters who will argue for the hell of it on our boards just as you do on yours. I think your ego made you come here and make this request - one that's impossible to fulfill. You had to know that going in.
