Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

I'd trade anyone but Zetterberg, Helm, Dekeyser, Smith and Howard for a powerforward. Even Datsyuk. Then add an enforcer. The complexion of this team must change to compete in the east. This would be a start. -
And as you know, he is a former Red Wings draft choice, so Holland might even consider to pick him up!

We need a legitimate enforcer and a scoring powerforward imo. A powerforward is virtually impossible but I would settle for a skilled hard working guy like Callahan, Dubinsky or Matthias. The latter is perhaps a possibility as he seems to struggle a bit lately.

Red Wings cannot afford to send down Sheahan the way he has played. Him and Tatar are crashing the net and doing most things the veterans are not. Andersson will not be sent down but he should be moved to fourth line. I would scratch Miller before Andersson, Eaves or Glendening but Glendening is most likely to be sent down.

Jurco will be sent down. He can get more ice time in GR anyway so it is not a big deal. Sheahan however should be a regular even with a healthy team. He has outplayed all the others including Andersson. Tatar should also have a spot.

Are you kidding me?? He has been given the opportunity again and again without anything to show for it. He has absolutely beenthe worst player on the roster imo.

Gustavsson still has a problem with rebound control, he got lucky on at least one occassion when the net was completely empty that the puck went to a Red Wing. He sometimes have a tendency to get out of position when making a save, so the relies on his defensemen to clear the puck and be in the right positions. He got the job done though.

Really good win. I like Tatar/Sheahan/Jurco together, but when healthy I would like Abdelkader instead of Jurco on that line.

I remember Backman from WJCH a few years ago. He was a very steady defenseman. Not sure he will be as good as Kronwall but maybe a more defensive minded version. I havent followed his career in SHL.

Yes I know it is a goal according to the rules, but how could the officials NOT see the puck hit the net?? There are four officials on the ice. If that is not embarrassing I dont know what is.

I disagree, this is rivalry. What will make the NHL look bad is the goal scored by Kronwall which clearly wasn't a goal.

Yes, i'll take the win, eventhough it should not have been a good goal. Detroit played pretty well in the third and even established some offensive pressure. I dont get why Sheahan and Tatar was split up, those two have been great together. Now if anything chemistry is more important than depth. Sheahan should be a regular by next season. -
Ott would fill the same role Tootoo was brought in for. Ott is perhaps more skilled but if there is no place for Tootoo I dont see them trading for Ott.

And why is Samuelsson in the lineup? He is worse than Cleary.

Tootoo should be playing over Samuelsson, no doubt. I dont get how he manages to sneak back into the lineup every time he's been benched (for seemingly the last time of his career). Unbelievable.

Glendening has been sent down before and he will be again if all forwards are healthy. Andersson is another Babcock favouriteand he is now an established NHL player as opposed to Glendening. I can see Glendening securing a spot next season though.

They played a fairly solid game defensively and were bailed out by Howard on a few occasions. Then in the third they got the opportunity and grabbed it with two goals to close the door on the Kings. Had they gone up earlier in the game I'm not so sure they could have held on to be honest.

They are not sending Andersson down, so imo it's got to be Glendening. In this case I believe there's greater upside with the offense added. Just cannot afford to be a one line team.

Sheahan and Tatar show some chemistry, why not keep Sheahan and demote Andersson to fourth line? Send Glendening down.

Hedman and Hornquist should be on the team imo. Berglund is a headscratcher, he shouldnt be there.

Smith has played pretty well lately and Quincey is no where near as bad as this board implies. -
I think he deserved the stick to his face, if for no other reason for being stupid enough to skate too close to the bench. The comment that it was not a taunt is BS. There was a pretty obvious photograph of the incident where he stares right at the bench.
