No. Babcock is a very demanding coach defensively. There is no spot for Brunner anymore. -
I agree, you often notice Weiss early in the games wheb in a top six role and then he gets demoted to bottom six halfway through the game for whatever reason and disappears completely. Babcock is treating Weiss like a rookie. You can see he is lacking confidence, always opting to pass etc. I dont get why Babcock will not cut him some slack. Right now there are no better options anyway.

It is not that difficult really. Babcock stresses defensive responsibility and that is not a strength of Tatar. He is prone to turnovers in the offensive zone. I really like how Babcock uses Abdelkader to energize the top 6, a top 6 that has otherwise looked a bit slow and tired aside from Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

I think the decision to start Monster is absolutely correct, but to be honest, he has looked just as lost as Howard positionally many times, the only difference is the opposition didnt score. This should even out during a full season. Now regarding Datsyuk's injury and the game vs Ottawa in general -imagine if this was the playoffs? A best of seven vs Ottawa would kill Detroit. Kenny better wake up and make some changes to the roster. -
Both players should have fired at the net in that situation, and instead neither does, typical Red Wings.

I wouldnt want Yakupov for a bag of pucks let alone Mrazek. Yakupov is trouble.

I must admit this thought crossed my mind too. Also Detroit played well against Vancouver without Franzen. I'm beginning to think Franzen is holding this team back. He is one of those guys that is difficult to play with. Hope I'm wrong.

I cannot believe Samuelsson is back in! It is like Babcock has the memory of a gold fish, and after each game he realizes "oh he still sucks, I better bench him next game".

Whatever you need, but it is time for people to realize that Abdelkader is much more important to this team than many want to acknowledge. You keep fooling yourself thinking he is easily replaced.

Nice third period. Bertuzzi definitely first star of the game. Lashoff had a good game too and that snipe from Abdelkader really showed that he is much more than a bottom sixer. Eaves really doesnt add anything though, I would rather see Tootoo.
